Yasaka Silverline Carbon

Blade description:

This composite blade features a 5+2 construction, utilizing a carbon layer that provides an offensive speed profile without sacrificing the tactile feedback associated with all-wood blades. It strikes a balance between power and touch, offering enough speed for aggressive smashing and looping, while maintaining sufficient control for blocking and defensive play. Users generally note that the blade provides a “woody” feel, with the carbon element engaging primarily when playing at higher gears or executing harder strokes.

Playing Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: Designed for an offensive style, the blade is capable of producing significant speed for finishing points. It performs well with both hard and soft rubber pairings, accommodating a range of aggressive offensive techniques.
  • Feel and Feedback: The blade provides moderate vibration, which helps players maintain a sense of connection with the ball. It is frequently described as having a “carbon-wood” hybrid feel, avoiding the overly bouncy or rigid sensation common in some purely synthetic blades.
  • Weight and Balance: While personal perception varies, the blade is often noted for a comfortable, balanced weight distribution. Some users experience a slight head-heavy bias, though this is largely dependent on the specific weight of the rubbers applied.
  • Flex and Stiffness: The blade exhibits a degree of flex, which aids in generating spin during looping sequences. It is particularly noted for its high-throw characteristic and effectiveness when playing with modern plastic balls.

Fast blade!

Pretty much every reviewer is spot on with the silver carbon here. It’s an inner carbon style blade. It’s thin, has some flex with a woody feel. At higher gears, some carbon kicks in and helps you but that’s it.

Maybe we can say that it’s a slower version of Innerforce ZLC or a harder version of Innerforce ZLF.

The ST handle is on the squared side but not like a Galaxa, Dynamix or Timo Boll ALC kind of squared.

With two Tenergy 80 it’s still not that head heavy.

I really liked that blade. I was trying to find a little bit stiffer or faster Virtuoso and I think I found what I want. Not the exact feeling of course but close enough.

This blade offers a balanced speed that is neither too fast nor too slow. It excels in looping and smashing techniques. The high throw angle allows for precise ball placement. Its spin capabilities are exceptional, enabling players to generate a variety of spin variations. Players will appreciate the superb control and minimal vibration, which enhances touch and precision. However, the blade’s construction may not provide the same level of solidity as some other blades. It features a carbon fiber composition blended with a natural wood feel, offering a unique combination of rigidity and sensitivity.
