Andro Impuls Powersponge

Andro Impuls Powersponge - package

Rubber description:

This rubber is a tensor characterized by a medium-soft sponge that provides a forgiving, well-rounded performance. It is designed to offer high levels of control and a distinct “clicking” sensation upon impact. Due to its balanced nature, it is highly suitable for all-around play, enabling consistent blocking, drives, and counter-hitting, while remaining effective for players who prioritize precision and stability.

Playing Characteristics

  • Spin and Speed: The rubber generates significant spin upon good contact, making it effective for looping. It offers a “multi-gear” performance, allowing players to shift between spin-heavy shots and higher-speed drives.
  • Control and Feel: Its standout feature is its ease of control. The rubber is notably less sensitive to incoming spin, which simplifies the transition from defensive blocks to aggressive strokes.
  • Throw Angle and Sensitivity: It typically exhibits a medium throw angle once broken in. The topsheet is designed to be forgiving, providing a reliable response even against difficult or spinny balls.
  • Physical Properties: The rubber is lightweight and maintains good durability over extended periods of play. While it features the characteristic bounce associated with tensor technology, it is firm enough to resist bottoming out during harder impacts.

Durability is good. Lacks power. Super soft. Not recommended for high-level players.

This rubber is excellent for active blocking play as it is not very sensitive to incoming spin. This rubber can also generate a lot of spin upon good contact, alongside a good clicking sound.

This is one of the most controllable inverted rubbers I have played with so far. I use it on the forehand side of an All+ custom blade. It has almost as much speed as my former Joola Max 450 (with 2.0 mm sponge) but offers more control.

I used it for the second time on Wednesday during a tournament, where it helped me secure a clear 2-0 victory against an opponent who used to beat me regularly. He employs an anti-spin rubber on one side and a sandwich rubber on the other. Both of these rubbers create serious problems for most of his opponents, just as they did for me when I had the Joola Maxx on my forehand.

However, that is not the case anymore. With this new rubber, I can hit all the balls as if they come from a normal inverted rubber.
