Very good!

#2 — November 2020

Very good rubber for an offensive player. I use a Primorac Carbon blade combined with Donic Acuda P1 Turbo on the backhand side, making my loop spins and smashes very accurate. It’s also very comfortable to block an opponent’s attack and counterattack, but with exceptional control. If you want to play aggressively, try this rubber. You won’t regret it, even if you buy it second-hand (like me).

Sadly, this rubber has been discontinued. I enjoy rallying and this is my ideal rubber. It has excellent blocks and counters. As it was in storage for years, it lost speed and gained control. But it can still lift backspin as well as any other rubber I have tried.

Great rubber.

#5 — February 2019

Another top 10 rubber for me. It is easy to play with, very spinny, and has just the right speed. It was glued to at least 5 different blades, but it was best paired with Nittaku Redshank and Stiga Rosewood NCT 5. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued.

Good Control, Lacks Spin

This rubber provides excellent control, allowing for precise placement and consistency in shots. However, it falls short in generating spin, which can limit the player’s ability to create deceptive shots and force errors.

#7 — April 2018

I use this rubber on my forehand. Funnily enough, it feels a little like a Chinese rubber! When you put power into your strokes, they are very fast and spinny. When you’re more passive, the ball stays on the racket. When you control it, it’s amazing: you have huge possibilities! You can hit very powerful, deep, and spinny topspins or little balls just behind the net!

This rubber is very fast, so in a topspins-on-topspins game, you can get the advantage very easily. It’s damn good! Servings are so spinny with this rubber; many players fault on my serves.

To sum up: Be aware that you have to strike the ball correctly to use this rubber effectively. The control is not bad, but not outstanding. It’s a very powerful and spinny rubber that offers many gears. It’s perfect for players who are oriented towards topspins.

Update: When this rubber ages, it doesn’t become less fast, but it becomes less dynamic. It feels a bit dead, but it’s still fast. However, I have to be more active on my shots to make them powerful. The spin is still present. However, I’m finding it more difficult to play with now. I always have to be in the right position and very active.

I switched from forehand to backhand. On the forehand side, it’s good. You have spin, control, and flicks over the table, but the tensor is “hidden,” so you have to hit strong to activate the full power. On backhand, it’s a great rubber. If you are a spin-oriented player, you must try this one.

#9 — January 2018

Amazing rubber. For the forehand, it’s the best ever. It’s just a pity that it’s going out of production.

#10 — January 2018

The rubber is good, although not as impressive as Rasant. It performs well in all aspects of the game, making it a potential alternative to Tenergy 05. Its throw and spin are comparable to T05, while its speed surpasses it.

#11 — January 2018

Good rubber. I have used it on a Tibhar Rapid Carbon Light blade.

Perfect for modern forehand attackers.

#12 — January 2018

This rubber is suitable for all aspects of the game, including forehands, backhands, and serves. It can accommodate a wide range of players, from ALL to OFF styles. However, OFF+ attackers may find it lacking in speed. I personally prefer MX-P (max) on both my forehand and backhand.

Rasant Grip offers exceptional spin and speed. Its most notable feature is its remarkable Consistency. After using it for 5-6 months, I’ve found that it never fails to deliver and provides consistent spin.

#14 — September 2017

I took my old Rasant grip from the drawer and was surprised by its good shape. I used it for a whole season and changed it for another style. My new rubber (Stiga Magna TX) is too hard to loop with.

As I didn’t want to buy a new one in the middle season, I glued my AGrip, and it’s like new! My serves are incredibly spinny. So the durability is beyond expectation.

Still, I find it a little slow, but it’s really good rubber.

This is a great rubber. It provides excellent spin and control, making it a great choice for players of all levels.

#16 — April 2017

First I struggled to get used to the soft sponge in this rubber, but once I did, it was amazing, probably one of the best rubbers I have ever tried. It allows you to do topspin loops easier than other rubbers out there.

For the price, it’s worth giving it a try. In terms of control and spin, it’s slightly better than the Rasant Power Grip.

#17 — January 2017

Mine is red 1.9 mm, played on the BH side. Overall, it’s a good rubber. The top sheet looks nice. Don’t put side tape or edge tape on your blade because the green sponge looks really cool.

#18 — January 2017

Tried it at max thickness on an offensive 6 ply blade, and it felt very spinny, fairly fast. However, the top gears are non-existent because max thickness won’t let you get through the sponge to allow the hard wood to kick in on a smash. It is suitable for controlled, mid-close to the table defensive blocking and counterlooping. In my opinion, it is too heavy and lacks versatility. I preferred the PowerGrip version. If you are considering a soft sponge ESN-made TENSOR rubber, I would recommend Xiom Vega Europe instead. Additionally, the green sponge does not look as aesthetically pleasing as Xiom VE´s softer, yet more powerful black carbo sponge.

#19 — October 2016

This rubber provides very good control, spin, and speed. It is a fantastic choice for players of all levels.

#20 — October 2016

I played with this rubber for more than a year. Before that, I played with the normal Rasant. The grip gives more spin and has more control than the Rasant. It’s an incredible rubber to play with if you spin a lot. However, for playing against backspin, I missed the control, which is why I recently changed rubbers. But for spin, I think this is the best rubber.

Review text:

I switched from powergrip (PG) to grip for a variety of reasons. First and foremost was the lack of ease to engage the sponge on the PG when looping. You really had to just engage the topsheet by brushing.

Although the grip appears initially slower when compared to the PG, it still retains the best attribute of the PG, which is beautiful counter hitting and smashing. When using a full stroke, this is where this rubber can go lightening fast.

Serves are very spiny and easier than the PG. Lifting serve receives are a breeze, and can impart tremendous topspin with ease. Blocking is very consistent just like the PG.

This robber does play well from a distance, but not with lazy play, you must be active and use your stroke! The same goes for passive blocking, it tends to deaden the ball, so a punch block is the way to go. The PG shined more in this area due to sponge hardness.

Overall, I was a bit hesitant initially due to slower loops, but soon began to realize that the whole repertoire of this rubber gave me a far bigger set of skills to use than the PG, so this is one happy grip user!

I hesitated in writing a review about this rubber because the characteristics of all rubber attributes can be summed up in one term: [It Depends]. A simple change in the way you grip your bat can make a difference in the feedback you get from a rubber, not to mention the blade you are using. At the end of the day, [It All Depends].

So I will start my review by saying what is the most universal attribute of this rubber regardless of any external factors:

  1. The most accurate rubber I have played with. If you have the technique, it will execute with precision. I put this rubber on stiff/hard/fast/slow blades and I was able to execute ever stroke in the modern table tennis with great accuracy. I consider Tenergy64 as the benchmark for offensive accuracy, but the Andro Rasant Grip rubber matches Tenergy in this attribute with the added bonus of being more accurate in short push, slow short block. The gears of Andro Rasant Grip has put it above my once beloved Tenergy64. It is very accurate moving from a push, spinny deep loop to an explosive forehand or backhand loop-drive with very little effort from any distance on or off the table.

  2. Durability is the next main attribute of the Andro Rasant Grip worth writing a review on. The only other rubbers that give relatively high, consistent play after putting in 30 hours/week of D1 training and tournament are the Mizuno GF T45, Butterfly Tenergyxx and Andro Rasant Grip. I am sure there are other rubbers with good durability rating, but these three I am sure will take a hitting and keep on ticking.

All other attributes of this rubber fall in the bucket of [It All Depends], therefore giving a review about those attribute is more misleading.

Spin is outstanding on loops and serves. It is a good fh or bh rubber, but it lacks speed, and there are better choices for me. I prefer powergrip much more. Both have a low throw, but I prefer harder low throw sponges, and powergrip takes care of the power issue without losing much spin.

With Adidas leaving the table tennis business, I desperately searched for a substitute for P7. I experimented with Tibhar Evolution MX-P, Yasaka Rising Dragon, and Mark V, but they failed to meet my specific requirements for spin, speed, and trajectory. Tibhar was too soft and lacked power from long distances, YRD was excessively tacky and “Chinese” for my preference, and Mark V was too slow.

I eventually purchased a 1.9 Rasant Grip and found it to be an identical twin to P7 in terms of speed, spin, trajectory, power, and gears. It fulfilled all my needs. Subsequently, I returned to a club where I rarely visit and undefeated against players whom I had previously lost to.

In addition to its resemblance to P7, Rasant Grip surpasses Adidas rubber in spin on services. It generates an exceptional amount of spin, significantly more than any other non-Chinese rubber I’ve encountered. Underspin, sidespin, wobbly, and ghost services - an astounding 6 out of 10 attempts either sailed long or dropped into the net on the opponent’s side. It’s a revelation that must be experienced firsthand.

Ultimately, for players seeking a harder sponge with ample power, gears, and spin, Rasant Grip is an outstanding choice.

I currently use it on an all-wood blade (Nittaku Acoustic), where it forms a perfect synergy within a minute. I have yet to try it on my Innerforce ZLC, Nittaku Barewell Fleet, or other composite blades, but I hesitate to risk altering the ideal wood feel with the harder sponge.

This rubber is very spinny and fast. I switched to this rubber potentially too soon and would not recommend it if you’re not a top-level player. I play in Division 1 of my local district league and found I was hitting the ball up too much while using it, which allowed opponents to attack my shots easily. I recently purchased Yasaka Mark V for both forehand and backhand and can now execute everything I need to without feeling like I’ll miss. While this rubber is indeed spinny and fast, I suggest only using it if you believe you can maximize its capabilities. As mentioned earlier, I can perform all necessary shots with Mark V with greater consistency and without fear.

For my style of game (All/OFF; USATT ~2000), this is the best FH rubber I have tried thus far (having tested 80, 05FX, and Calibra LT). It provides a medium throw with an excellent crisp feel for both topspins and short games. Despite having a medium-hard sponge, it offers decent smashes. Additionally, it generates a significant amount of spin, making it fantastic for serves. While it is relatively fast (comparable to Tenergy 05FX), it is not overly fast. It also boasts very good control.

However, it is important to note that this rubber may not be suitable for all-out attackers, as they might find it somewhat slow unless paired with a very fast blade. The most notable downside is its weight, as it is 15% heavier than a Stiga Calibra LT and similar or slightly heavier than a Tenergy rubber.

Overall, I find this rubber to be a significantly spinnier, less expensive, and more durable substitute for T80.

#28 — September 2015

Great rubber, but not a beginner-friendly option.

#29 — August 2015

This rubber provides great spin and good control. I use it for my forehand and was very impressed with the performance from the first moment I played with it.

#30 — August 2015

Overall, a nice rubber with excellent spin and speed, plus control.

#31 — May 2015

Amazing rubber. It offers high quality spin and speed. However, you will need to adjust your playing style to control it 100%.

To play a heavy topspin, you will have to angle the bat very, very low.

Nevertheless, it is a very good attacking rubber.

#32 — May 2015

The best of the best… simply that. Great spin, great framed speed that gives you great control, which allows you to place the ball wherever you want. Not for beginners or intermediate players. Use this beast and you’ll know what I mean.

#33 — April 2015

I am using this rubber as FH on DHS Power G-7. The rubber is spinny with good control. You can lift the ball even on the table if you can catch a nice angle. Smash and topspin from close to the table and mid-distance are good. As mentioned, it can grip or bite the ball very well, which I like most.

The only thing that I dislike is that when you receive the ball with a stationary move, the ball generally goes to the net. Therefore, you must avoid using simple blocks.

#34 — March 2015

Compared to Powergrip, RasAnt is slightly slower with more spin. This is what Andro expected it to be. If this rubber is not fast enough, go with the Powergrip. The RasAnt series is too heavy for me, weighing in at 68-70g uncut.

#35 — March 2015

Although I have only had two sessions with this in Max thickness, it is already better than the standard Rasant it replaced. It is less bouncy in the short game and also much better in pushes and chops.

However, where this rubber really shines is in active attacking play. The spin is the most I have ever experienced (slightly more than R7 soft, which has always been my yardstick).

Overall, this is a great rubber for attacking, just like its predecessor. But the improvements in the short game and extra spin while maintaining the same speed make it a worthwhile upgrade, at least for me.

#36 — March 2015

Extraordinary rubber! High control, extreme spin, fast enough, and a medium to low throw angle.

It excels in blocking, opening, and counter looping. The short game is also good. My choice for BH on a Mizutani SZLC.

#37 — March 2015

The surface is grippy enough, and for me, it has a low throw, but the speed is incredible. It’s a nice rubber to play with.

#38 — February 2015

Great for forehand or backhand. I play combination bat and flip a lot. Loops and drives from both sides are great. It has spin, great control, and great ball curve.

#39 — February 2015

I think this is a very fast rubber. It offers great spin, but the control is only satisfactory.

#40 — December 2014

I got this rubber on my FH because I wanted something faster than the Powersponge version. This was a winning move. It has a ton of control, the same low throw angle that I like, and has more muscle than the Powersponge.

The spin is as everyone else is pointing out: incredible. The short game is very good, and opening loops are really easy. And there’s plenty of speed to finish the point. I used this rubber in MAX on an OFF- blade.

The only thing odd I found is that there comes a point where the rubber is worn out but doesn’t look that bad. Overall, this is a fantastic rubber for the offensive-minded player who likes his/her occasional drop shot and short serve return.

#41 — November 2014

This is a real improvement to the Rasant though I still think it’s only really good as a backhand rubber and what a backhand rubber it is.

I’ve found the throw is too low for my looping style FH. The kind of comments I’ve been getting with this rubber on BH is you can’t see the bounce but you can hear it.

Excellent rubber, fast, and very spinny on serves.

10/28/2014:

After only four hours of play with Rasant Grip, I can already note differences from the original Rasant. The Grip is slower, offering improved control in rallies. Additionally, I have experienced no issues in short game or blocking, which were occasionally problematic with the original Rasant.

11/6/2014:

To further compare the two rubbers, I mounted both the original Rasant and Rasant Grip on the same blade. After a few hours of play, the problems I had previously mentioned with the original Rasant became even more apparent. The Rasant Grip, however, did not exhibit these issues.

It’s worth noting that not everyone may encounter the same problems with the original Rasant. Ultimately, the choice between the two depends on individual preferences and play style. I have simply found that rubbers with a more straightforward performance work better for me.

#43 — October 2014

I’m currently using Andro Rasant Grip and find it to be an excellent rubber that imparts tremendous spin. It is ideally suited for aggressive or offensive topspin players. Previously, I used Donic Bluefire JP-01, but the Andro Rasant Grip feels remarkably different. In my opinion, Andro Rasant Grip is the best spin rubber available on the market.

#44 — September 2014

Review

I have been using this rubber for four weeks. Coming from the Adidas P7, I had to adjust to the slightly lower throw.

Unlike other reviewers, I did not find the control to be very high. This rubber generates a lot of spin, but it’s also sensitive to incoming spin, making it sometimes difficult to control.

The grip has multiple gears. It can be slow when pushing or blocking, but it can also generate a lot of speed when attacking.

#45 — September 2014

This rubber is the best of the best. It provides excellent spin, blocking, and chopping capabilities. Try it, and you’ll know what I mean. ;)

#46 — August 2014

Awesome for intermediate to advanced players who play a topspin attack game. It’s the best rubber I’ve ever played with; my absolute favourite. I have it in 1.9mm on my backhand and it’s just great.
Control breaks the laws of physics; it’s almost impossible to miss. The speed is fast, but easy to control due to the medium sponge. It’s easy enough to finish the point with.
I cannot express in words how much spin this rubber has. Flicks, pushes, loops, counters, blocks, drop shots, and smashes are all unbelievably easy. Andro have cracked the game with this one. Like it says in their catologue - ‘test the laws of physics’.
It’s way better than tenergy as it is more versatile and forgiving than it. Even chopping is great if you catch it right - you can put some amazing backspin on the ball. This rubber deserves to be top of the market.
So go ahead, buy it, and take your game to the next level…

#47 — August 2014

Faster than T05, this rubber produces less spin and has a low throw angle. Despite these differences, it offers good flat hitting capability.

#48 — July 2014

#49 — June 2014

Not so much different from the original, but clearly spin is higher. A real treat to play with.
