Surprisingly, this budget-friendly Sapphira rubber can perform similarly to the standard DHS Hurricane. However, it lacks the speed that is crucial for dominating opponents, particularly in close-table situations where giving the opponent a chance to attack can be detrimental. On the other hand, if you loop hard enough, it may create opportunities for you to initiate an attack.
Given its price tag, do not expect too much from this rubber. Nevertheless, it works well for training purposes. I have also found that it is only suitable for use on the forehand; when placed on the backhand, it fails to generate the necessary power to thwart your opponent effectively. Therefore, do not anticipate finishing the game with minimal strokes.
This rubber is very good, even better than Mark V and Globe 999T. Its performance surpasses these popular options, making it an excellent choice for players seeking quality in their equipment.
This rubber is great for executing blocks and punches. I have it on my Amultart ZLC, and I find it controllable while still providing the speed needed when necessary—this might also be due to my blade’s characteristics.
It is reliable for both close and far table play, particularly for blocks and counters. Additionally, it is not reactive to spinny serves, much like an anti-spin rubber. This quality is beneficial for returns, but it can pose challenges when attempting to loop a heavy underspin ball.
The rubber has a bit more offensive potential than the standard Sriver. Looping is easier, and it is heavier than what is typical for rubbers of this type. Despite the sponge being soft, it offers many gears: blocks can go short, and kills are faster than you would expect.
Priced at only $30 per sheet, it is Butterfly’s third most sensibly priced product, with Flextra being the first and Feint Soft (for me) coming in second.
Very good rubber for looping.
