Nittaku Micro is a reliable choice for advanced players seeking precise control and steady consistency in their table tennis game. With a unique combination of properties, this non-tensor rubber excels in all aspects of play.
Offering a moderate speed rating of 6.7, the Nittaku Micro enables players to generate ample pace without compromising control. The tacky top sheet provides excellent grip, allowing for superb spin generation and precise placement of shots. With a control rating of 8.5, this rubber inspires confidence and stability, making it ideal for players who prioritize accuracy and consistency.
The Nittaku Micro's sponge hardness, rated at 3.3, offers a delicate balance between responsiveness and shock absorption. This characteristic contributes to the rubber's controlled feel and predictable trajectory, ensuring that players can execute intricate shots with finesse and precision.
The throw angle of 4.5 provides a relatively low trajectory, allowing players to maintain control over the ball and execute precise loops and counter-attacks with ease. The rubber's moderate weight contributes to its overall balance, enhancing maneuverability and facilitating quick reactions at the table.
In terms of gears, the Nittaku Micro offers a versatile performance, enabling players to transition smoothly between offensive and defensive strokes. With 6 gears, this rubber allows for dynamic gameplay, accommodating a wide range of playing styles and strategies.
However, it is worth noting that the Nittaku Micro's durability rating is slightly below average at 5.7. Players may find that the rubber's performance degrades over time, requiring more frequent replacement compared to other options.
Overall, the Nittaku Micro is an exceptional choice for advanced players seeking exceptional control, consistency, and versatility in their table tennis game. Its balanced combination of speed, spin, and control, coupled with its predictable trajectory and moderate weight, makes it a reliable and effective option for achieving optimal table tennis performance.
This is a highly recommended classic rubber. I chose it based on positive reviews, seeking a balance between beginner and intermediate playstyles. The reviews were accurate: this is a quality rubber that offers a grippy surface, excellent control, and moderate speed.
Compared to the Xushaofa rubber I used long ago, the Micro provides slightly more control, a touch more speed, and an equivalent level of spin. While the Xushaofa had a very sticky surface, the Micro’s grip is sufficient to generate comparable spin on my serves. Its high consistency is a boon for a beginner returning to the sport after a 20-year hiatus.
The Micro excels in close and mid-range looping, serves, and short play. While it doesn’t stand out in any one area, it performs all aspects of the game admirably. Previously, I experimented with various “beginner” rubbers from Schildkrot-Donic, DHS, Butterfly, and Xushaofa. Among these, the Micro stands out as a high-quality option for beginners. I’ve witnessed significant improvement in my gameplay since using it.
Paired with an OFF- blade, the Micro forms a harmonious combination. It provides control, spin, and sufficient speed for executing winning shots. If you’re seeking the ideal rubber to enhance your technique or embark on your table tennis journey, look no further than the Micro. It offers excellent value for money, eliminating the need to invest in more expensive alternatives.
It’s a good rubber, especially for beginners and intermediate players. This rubber will be great for players who need to learn or improve their movements with a nice product without spending a lot of money. It fits better in the backhand, for sure. The surface is not very tacky, so it’s easy to receive serves and play short games. It’s a soft rubber with a light weight, so if you’re having problems with heavy blades (especially if you’re a reverse penholder), it’s a good choice!
This rubber is characterized by its exceptional softness, rated at 40° on the hardness scale. This extreme softness provides unparalleled ball control and spin generation, enabling players to execute intricate techniques with precision.
The soft rubber allows for a high level of dwell time, increasing the contact duration between the ball and the racket. This extended contact time facilitates the generation of intense spin and accurate placement.
Despite its softness, the rubber still maintains a degree of firmness, ensuring consistent performance and durability. The balance between softness and firmness makes it a versatile choice for players seeking both control and spin.
