Stiga Almana Sound SynergyTech
Rubber description:
This offensive tensor rubber is defined by its pronounced catapult effect and a characteristic “click” sound reminiscent of traditional speed-glued setups. Designed with a soft sponge, it offers high speed and a dynamic response on flat drives and loops, making it suitable for players who prioritize offensive play and a lively feel.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Catapult: The rubber is engineered for high velocity, providing a powerful launch that excels in offensive rallies. Its internal tension creates a “booming” sound and a vigorous catapult effect that is particularly effective for loops and aggressive drives.
- Spin and Control: While capable of generating functional topspin, it is noted for prioritizing speed and trajectory over extreme spin generation. Players report that the rubber allows for a low arc and predictable control when receiving spinny serves, helping to neutralize incoming variations.
- Dwell and Feel: The soft sponge provides significant dwell time, offering a tactile sensation that aids in technique development. It performs well on flexible blades, where the combination of the soft structure and blade flex enhances the feedback and sound during ball contact.
Handling and Physicality
- Consistency: The rubber provides a balanced experience, though its weight is reported to be heavier than some comparable alternatives in the same category.
- Durability and Application: It integrates well with various blade compositions, particularly balsa-carbon or flexible wood blades. Users should note that while it is robust, some care is required during blade transfers to maintain the structural integrity of the sponge.

The best “soft” rubber I’ve played with. It has a beautiful feeling and “click” sound. I balance it with softer Butterfly blades such as Grubba or Korbel (softer EU) or Korbel JAP or others with more flex. It’s perfect for technique progress or for players who still want softer rubber. I always use it at maximum thickness on the forehand. It’s a Euro-JAP rubber produced for celluloid 40mm.
