Stiga Cobra 2000 is a popular table tennis rubber known for its exceptional control and spin generation. With a speed rating of 86, spin rating of 90, and control rating of 96, this rubber provides a balanced combination of power and precision, making it suitable for all-around players, especially those who prioritize control.
The rubber's Tackiness of 2 indicates that it has a slightly grippy surface, allowing players to impart more spin on the ball. The Sponge Hardness of 3.9 provides a medium-soft feel, resulting in excellent ball control and touch.
One of the standout features of the Stiga Cobra 2000 is its versatility. It offers a wide range of gears, allowing players to adjust their playing style to suit different situations. The Throw Angle of 3.1 indicates a medium to high trajectory, making it ideal for looping and creating dangerous spinny shots.
In terms of consistency and durability, the Stiga Cobra 2000 receives mixed reviews. While some players praise its exceptional consistency, others have reported durability issues. The Overall rating of 7.1 suggests that the rubber performs well in various aspects, but there might be room for improvement in terms of longevity.
Players who prefer a controlled and spin-oriented playing style will likely find the Stiga Cobra 2000 a great choice. Its well-balanced characteristics, combined with a reasonable price point, make it an attractive option for recreational and intermediate players.
Offers great control and is a rubber that is perfect for new players learning about spin and control for the first time. I had this myself when it was called Cobra Ultra back in the 80s.
First off, I’m a total beginner when it comes to table tennis, as I just started playing two months ago. Although I’ve been playing a lot since then, I got a Cobra 2000 2mm rubber on a Stiga Allround Classic as my first rubber and blade, and I must say I am very happy with it!
It is definitely true, as people say, that it provides excellent control. Even with the 2mm thickness, it still feels a bit slow, though. As I mentioned, I am a total beginner, but I feel that the great control it offers also comes with a sensation of it “gripping” the ball a little.
All in all, as a beginner, I feel that it’s a fantastic rubber, and I would definitely recommend it.
This was my first rubber decades ago, and it is still available today. It is best suited for beginners or players who prioritize control.
The rubber offers moderate speed and spin, along with fair durability. It plays similarly to the Butterfly D-13 or Flextra.
