The Grass D.TecS is a long pimpled rubber designed for disruptive defensive play. Known for its extreme reversal capabilities, this rubber excels at creating unpredictable ball trajectories and heavy backspin returns when blocking or chopping. The long, thin pips are highly flexible, allowing them to bend and grip the ball in unique ways, maximizing spin reversal and creating awkward float balls that can frustrate opponents. While not designed for offensive play, skilled players can use the Grass D.TecS to execute deceptive pushes and even occasional attacks close to the table, further adding to its disruptive potential.
The Grass D.TecS prioritizes control and spin reversal over speed. It allows for excellent short game control, making it easy to keep the ball low and short. The speed is relatively slow, making it ideal for players who rely on placement and spin variation rather than outright power. While the exact sponge hardness is often debated and can vary slightly between batches, it is generally considered to be medium-soft, providing a good balance between feel and control. This rubber is best suited for defensive players who specialize in chopping, blocking, and disrupting their opponent’s rhythm. Its spin reversal capabilities make it particularly effective against loopers, forcing them to adjust their shots and potentially make errors.
Very good.
Very good quality as expected.
One of the best pimple rubbers I’ve ever used, a little bit harder to use than Victas P1v and P3 but more deceptive. Only requires a little more adjustment and if you get used to it, you can beat a lot of players than you are used to. I tried the 0.9mm sponge, 1.2mm, and 1.6mm and the one that suited my liking is 1.2mm and the 2nd one is the 0.9mm sponge.
