Tibhar Nimbus Sound
Rubber description:
This rubber is a tensor characterized by a very soft sponge, which facilitates a high dwell time and a distinct, audible “click” sound during contact. It is designed to assist players in developing their strokes, offering a balance that favors controlled, all-around offensive play rather than pure, high-speed aggression.
Playing Characteristics
- Feel and Control: The soft sponge provides excellent control and a forgiving feel, making it suitable for training and technical development. It is highly regarded for blocking and performing precise, controlled topspin strokes close to the table.
- Spin and Speed: The rubber offers good spin potential, particularly for lifting heavy backspin. While it provides sufficient speed for offensive play, it can struggle with “bottoming out” during high-intensity counter-looping rallies where the ball penetrates through the soft sponge.
- Tactical Suitability: Due to its high throw angle and soft nature, it is often preferred as a backhand rubber. It performs well for flicking serves and controlling incoming spin, though some users find that short-game pushes can cause the ball to pop up if the technique is not precise.
Durability and Maintenance
- Longevity: The rubber is noted for having a relatively short lifespan. The top sheet tends to lose its “new” performance characteristics quickly, and the material can be prone to chipping or breaking, requiring frequent replacement for players who train regularly.

I have 1.8mm on the backhand, paired with a Nimbus All+ blade. I am satisfied and it is as expected/described. Good feel and control for all-around play close to the table. Good for intro-to-intermediate level and developing technique/strokes. The 32.5d sponge is the softest I’ve owned/tried recently, along with Xiom Vega Elite.

Hi all,
I’m very sorry, but I have never seen worse rubber than this in my life. There is no rotation at all. It felt like playing only a blade without rubber. Maybe I got a defective product, but I know for sure that I will never recommend anyone buy it. I read a lot of reviews on this rubber and have the feeling that they are all corrupted.
I usually play with Tibhar Genius rubber, and there really is a spin on the ball, unlike Tibhar Nimbus Sound.

Offers a lot of spin and control.
