Tibhar Nimbus Sound

Rubber description:

The Tibhar Nimbus Sound rubber is designed primarily for players who appreciate a balance between spin, speed, and control during their matches. It features a soft sponge with a hardness rating of 40°, which enhances dwell time and allows players to generate significant spin on their shots. Although some users have found the tackiness to be low (0.8), the rubber still delivers commendable ability to lift backspin and perform precise topspin strokes with good control.

In terms of weight, Nimbus Sound is classified as light (1.1), which makes it favorable for players who value quick maneuverability without sacrificing performance. However, while it excels in control and speed with scores of 8.6 and 8.2, it falls short in durability, garnering a rating of only 4.7. This drawback has been noted by multiple users, who reported that the rubber tends to lose its performance qualities relatively quickly and may chip or break under intensive play.

For those seeking alternatives, players looking for a similar feel might consider Tibhar’s Sinus Sound, which has been recommended by users aiming for enhanced durability. Additionally, some players find better performance with rubbers like Donic Desto F3 Bigslam, particularly if they require greater longevity and stability. Overall, Tibhar Nimbus Sound is an excellent choice for players who favor offensive play close to the table, although those seeking a long-lasting rubber may need to explore additional options.

Hi all,

I’m very sorry, but I have never seen worse rubber than this in my life. There is no rotation at all. It felt like playing only a blade without rubber. Maybe I got a defective product, but I know for sure that I will never recommend anyone buy it. I read a lot of reviews on this rubber and have the feeling that they are all corrupted.

I usually play with Tibhar Genius rubber, and there really is a spin on the ball, unlike Tibhar Nimbus Sound.

This rubber is only for the backhand side.

The rubber may lack power if you decide to pair it on the forehand side.

It has a low throw angle and provides more control.

You will be able to make precise topspin strokes and very good blocks.

It can save returns on unpleasant enemy serves.

Currently using this with a Tibhar Match. I would not recommend this as a first rubber for a player who is just making his first set, unless you are determined to play (at least 2x a week) and want to be an all-out offensive player.

It has great spin for service and drives. The black rubber can be used to banana flick opponents’ backspin easily, while the red rubber is a little more challenging.

It’s very fast for a beginner, but it can be tamed with training from a coach. I used it for six months, playing about 4.5 hours a week. At the end of the sixth month, the red rubber only started to lose spin (but make sure to clean it after a few matches and use a protective sheet).

It has good control despite its spin and speed. However, it’s not great for defensive play, in my opinion. Get this if you want to attack close/mid.
