Rubber description:

The Victas VO>102 is a high-performance short pimples rubber designed for aggressive, close-to-the-table play. It features a grippy, highly reactive topsheet paired with a bouncy, energetic sponge, resulting in a playing experience that feels more like an inverted rubber than traditional pips.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Spin: The rubber is categorized as very fast, offering significant power for flat hitting and punching. Despite its pimpled structure, the grippy surface allows players to generate noticeable topspin, enabling the user to execute loop-drives with more ease than standard short pips.
  • Control and Stability: It provides excellent stability during blocking, with a solid, predictable feel. Players often find it to be an ideal “bridge” for those transitioning from inverted rubber, as it maintains a familiar touch while providing the inherent benefits of a pimpled surface.
  • Playing Style: Due to the relatively grippy surface and lack of significant “sinking” effect (disruptiveness), this rubber is less focused on deceptive spin-reversal and more focused on offensive consistency. It excels in controlled, aggressive counter-attacking and steady, reliable blocking.
  • Dwell and Feel: The sponge is described as springy and energetic, contributing to a solid, firm contact during aggressive strokes. While it is not traditionally suited for heavy defensive chopping, its handling of incoming spin and drive capabilities makes it highly versatile for modern, fast-paced offensive play.

A gift for my brother who likes this rubber.

It is one of the best Short Pimple Rubbers with great control and speed.
Not much disruptiveness (sinking ball). I recommend it for people who desire to transition from regular rubber.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING on close table cutting (chopping) just over the net where the opponent has to come close to the net. I was able to get used to it in 3 weeks. Recommend it for close table players!

I purchased two 102 (2.0mm) rubber sheets with NITTAKU (INNER) blade. I have been playing with them for over a month now, and I feel they are better than the 802 and TSP rubbers I used before. Blocking is more stable, and surprisingly, it can produce spinning loops like a tacky rubber! Of course, it doesn’t spin as much as a tacky rubber, but compared to regular rubbers I used before, it grips the ball better and allows me to generate spins. This 102 rubber paired with the NITTAKU blade seems to be a great match for a regular style of play. I plan to use the 102 rubber in the future.
