Victas Ventus Extra is a high-performance table tennis rubber that caters to players looking for a balance of speed and control, making it an excellent follow-up to the beloved TSP Super Ventus. It boasts impressive ratings, scoring 121 for speed and 136 for spin with an exceptional control rating of 9.4, making it suitable for intermediate and advanced players with at least three years of experience. The rubber’s topsheet is firm and dense, offering a consistent response that allows players to execute precise shots with a low ball flight curve, which enhances accuracy when aiming for the table.
In terms of tackiness, the Victas Ventus Extra features a minimal tacky surface at 1.1, which provides adequate grip without the unpredictability associated with highly tacky rubbers. The medium sponge hardness (rated at 7) contributes to the rubber’s dynamic properties, while its relatively low weight of approximately 51.5g when cut and glued enhances maneuverability, particularly useful for aggressive play styles that require quick adjustments. The rubber’s durability is noteworthy, as it maintains its performance characteristics over extended periods, scoring a commendable 9.4 in this area.
For those exploring alternatives to Victas Ventus Extra, the Rakza X and Xiom Vega X are popular recommendations. While the former offers a slightly different feel, it remains a strong contender for players who appreciate a blend of softness and performance. However, those looking for something less bouncy may find the Rakza X and even the Nittaku Fastarc G-1 more suited to their needs. Overall, Victas Ventus Extra stands out for its excellent spin, control, and consistency, positioning it as a top choice for advanced players aiming to refine their skills on the table tennis circuit.
Perfect rubber, but it needs to be boosted once. Without boosting, the rubber is not playable for me. It is very good for countering opponent topspin, but not so good in passive shots like service receiving. It’s a fun rubber to play rallies with, but only if it’s boosted. It’s also a very light rubber. I prefer to use it on my forehand. On my backhand, I’m using VJ>07 stiff.
The rubber is very bouncy, suitable for strong players. It is very fast and spiny, but has poor control in attack. It is not suitable for me. I would rather go for V15 Limber.
Just try this rubber for the first time (red, max). I agree with the measurement rating given by Zdenek. The sponge is perfect, but I want to emphasize that the top sheet is hard and thick. For looping players, the stroke must be strong in order for the ball absorbed through the top sheet onto the sponge. The ejection of the ball is fantastically fast and spin with low arc and sliding when it lands on the table.
The advantage of this rubber is not a benefit if the stroke is not strong. Recommended for physically fit with strong loop stroke players.
