Victas V > 15 Extra is a premium table tennis rubber that caters to aggressive players seeking a balance of speed and control. Known for its impressive speed rating of 9.3, and strong spin capabilities at 9.2, this rubber performs exceptionally well in both offensive and defensive scenarios. Its low tackiness (rated at 1) allows players to maintain a consistent level of control over the shot execution, making it less sensitive to incoming spin — a beneficial feature for those who frequently counter-riposte against backspin.
In terms of weight, V > 15 Extra is categorized as lightweight (6.2), which contributes to its superior maneuverability during fast-paced exchanges. While the rubber exhibits good consistency (rated 9.1), players should be aware of its durability (6.7), as it may not hold up as long under rigorous play. Some reviews indicate that the rubber shows signs of wear after around 40 hours, necessitating more frequent replacements, which can affect overall value.
Alternatives to the V > 15 Extra may include the Tenergy series, particularly the T05 and T80, with players often mentioning that V > 15 Extra offers a more user-friendly experience compared to these popular rubbers. Other worth considering are the Andro Rasant series, and the Nittaku FastArc G1, which some players feel provide comparable performance levels. Overall, if you’re looking for a high-performing rubber that shines on attack and offers forgiving control, the Victas V > 15 Extra could be an excellent addition to your game.
This is a very popular rubber from Victas, maybe the most popular today. Several players in my club use it, either in the forehand (FH) or in both the FH and backhand (BH) positions. However, I haven’t been impressed by it.
Speed is very good, but spin is barely good, and control is average. It’s not a bad rubber, but I think there are better options in every regard. Just to give a few examples I have in mind: Hammond Z2 is as fast but spinnier and has better control. V>22, MX-P or R48 are faster. Vega Pro is spinnier and cheaper.
After playing Nittaku G1 (2mm), Victas V15 Extra will feel like a G1 with steroids. It is more powerful, more solid, and faster than G1, yet with the same excellent control of the famous G1. Both rubbers are also spinny, but the Victas V15 Extra has more gears.
Serves are very spinny and will force pressure on opponents. Looping is lovely. Smashing is good too. Pushes take some time to get used to, but it’s not hard at all after a few times. Blocking is easy. You don’t have to close the blade angle too much when blocking. It is quite a forgiving rubber.
I know Nittaku released G1 with 2.2mm recently, which I have yet to try. So, I cannot comment on whether the new G1 2.2mm is as good as the Victas V15 Extra. Don’t spend more money on the new V20 and V22 because they are virtually the same as V15 Extra.
This rubber is very hard, very spinny, and very fast. I play it on my backhand now since it was a bit too fast for my forehand. It is quite similar to the Fastarc G-1 that I tried on the same blade.
