Andro Ligna OFF+

Blade description:

The Andro Ligna OFF+ is an all-wood 7-ply blade constructed primarily from spruce, noted for its high build quality and ergonomic handle design. Despite its all-wood construction, it provides speed comparable to carbon-composite blades while maintaining a linear power curve. The blade is characterized by a high dwell time, which facilitates effective ball placement, flicking, and the generation of heavy spin.

Playing Characteristics

  • Feel and Control: The blade offers a high level of feedback and control, providing a secure feeling during strokes. Users report a distinct “feeling of the ball” on the rubber, which aids in precise shot execution.
  • Speed and Power: While marketed as an OFF+ blade, the power is manageable and predictable. It delivers sufficient speed for aggressive smashing and forceful spin strokes without the volatility sometimes associated with stiffer composite blades.
  • Tactical Versatility: The blade performs reliably in the short game, with particular strengths in blocking and pushing. Its higher throw angle compared to typical carbon blades makes it effective for spin-oriented offensive play, allowing for consistent shot placement across various gears.

I bought this blade and so far, it’s the best I’ve ever played with. It’s very fast, but with excellent control. It has a good grip, and the build quality is great.

My rubbers are Tibhar Evolution MX-P on the forehand and Stiga Energy Absorber on the backhand. It’s excellent for low rotations and blocks. The feeling of control is very high. Good dwell time, and the feel of the ball on the rubber is excellent.

Previously, I played with the Butterfly Schlager Tamca 5000 Off+, which was slightly faster but had worse control. I highly recommend the Andro Ligna OFF+. It has slightly less speed than the Schlager, but there is much greater control and stroke confidence. I have tried many blades, but the Andro Ligna OFF+ is so far the best blade I have ever played with.

A very high-quality blade. It’s pretty fast, and the sense of control is also very high. I use a forehand with BTY rosena and a backhand with Xiom omega V Asia. Everything is great.

Nice blade that delivers all aspects of the game. Good speed with a good amount of control. Also, it’s a very nice looking blade, and the handle is a good fit in hand. The blade provides a good dwell time, which makes it easy for ball placement and blocking. A+.
