Andro Treiber FI OFF
Blade description:
This composite blade features a 3+2 construction, utilizing an inner-carbon layer that provides a distinct woody feel and increased dwell time compared to traditional outer-carbon blades. The internal positioning of the carbon fibers offers a balance between the stiffness required for offensive play and a softer tactile feedback, allowing for easier execution of spin-heavy loops, drives, and serves.
Playing Characteristics
- Speed and Control: The blade is characterized as an offensive-leaning instrument that maintains high levels of control. While it provides sufficient power for aggressive shot-making and counter-looping, it remains manageable for blocking and precise ball placement, avoiding the excessive bounciness found in some other composite alternatives.
- Feel and Flex: Users frequently note a significant amount of flex, which enhances the blade’s ability to grip the ball during topspin play. This, combined with the inner carbon, creates a responsive feel that is beneficial for both offensive attacks and delicate short-game maneuvers.
- Weight and Ergonomics: The blade is balanced in a way that minimizes the perception of its mass, even when paired with heavier rubber configurations. The handle design is widely noted for its comfortable, ergonomic grip that fits well in the hand, though some players may find the bottom edge of the blade requires minor sanding for optimal comfort during extended sessions.

After testing a few frames to work with my Long Pips, I realized that I’m not a defender or chopper, but I wanted to attack with it. Therefore, I wanted a faster blade. I already had the Andro Kanter FO, but it was too bouncy.
So I tried a few 5 or 7 ply woods, but nothing felt like a real fit. Until I got this one. With my softer/slower FX-S, it suits me perfectly. I can attack low over the net with spin and loop if needed. It’s also great for slow blocking or fast blocking.
For the Long Pips, I needed to be able to attack with it, not just a fast push but a real hit. It’s perfect for that. I feel that the reversal is a bit lower, but for me, the attack is most important. I had good control and good feel. It was a bit heavier than others I tried, but it didn’t feel heavy, probably because of the balance.
And what’s most amazing is that a few blades didn’t feel right in my hand. They were either too small or too smooth. When I took this one in my hand, it felt very good and fits well.

I think this blade has an amazing feel. It’s not a slow blade, but it’s also not crazy fast. It has a lot of control and good flex, so spinning with this blade is amazing. Counter looping is out of this world, especially with the C48 on both sides!

The blade did not meet expectations. Very sluggish. Good control, but speed is OFF-.
