Butterfly Timo Boll T5000 Tamca
Blade description:
The Timo Boll T5000 is a high-speed, 5+2 construction carbon composite blade designed for uncompromising offensive play. It features a Koto outer ply, a Kiri core, and two layers of T5000 carbon, resulting in a thin profile and a large sweet spot. The blade is characterized by its stiffness and significant power output, making it suitable for aggressive attacking, smashes, and mid-distance topspin play.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Power: Offers high speed and springiness, ideal for players looking to generate maximum pace and aggressive shots. It is generally considered faster than many standard composite blades.
- Feel and Feedback: The T5000 carbon layers significantly dampen vibrations, providing a hard, solid feel. While some users appreciate this direct feedback for flat hits and aggressive drives, others note a lack of dwell time and reduced touch compared to all-wood or softer composite blades.
- Control: Due to its bouncy nature, particularly in the short game, this blade requires advanced technical skill and refined footwork. It is not typically recommended for beginners.
- Suitability: Performs best when paired with high-tension, modern offensive rubbers. Users suggest that pairing it with softer rubber options can help balance the inherent stiffness and improve control for those who find the blade too rigid.
Construction and Handling
- Construction: 5+2 construction.
- Profile: Thin, lightweight design (often under 90g) with high-quality aesthetics.
- Playstyle: Primarily focused on an all-out attacking game, though capable of performing varied technical shots like flicks, serves, and loops when wielded by experienced players.

Very stiff and hard blade, suitable for aggressive attacking players playing in the near zone at high speeds.

I asked for the lightest blade with an anatomic handle. It weighs 85.9g and is 5.5mm thick. The blade has beautiful patterns and is of high quality.
The Razka 7 Soft is suitable for both sides, but I have it on the forehand and the Razka 7 on the backhand. The feel is not too hard, and there is very little vibration when hitting hard due to the T-5000 carbon absorbing most of the vibrations.
The speed is very fast, equal to the Primorac Carbon but slightly slower and not as bouncy as my JMSZLC but faster than the Zhang Jike SZLC. This blade can produce the most spin among all my blades, maybe equal to or better than the JMSZLC.
It can do all kinds of shots: touch shots over the net, slow or fast loops, flicks, and underspins. I adjusted to it within 20 minutes. The T-5000 carbon works great on a thin blade like this with a perfect blend of speed, control, and spin.
I think the biggest disadvantage of this blade is the lack of dwell and less feel from the carbon. Here is a summary of my review:
* Speed=9.6 * Control=8.5 * Spin=9.5 * Feel=8 (solid & without vibration) * Flick=easy * Flex=6.5 * Hardness=6 * Balance=good * AN grip=nice shape but small * Dwell=avg- * Smash, flat hit & Drive=excellent * Throw=med * Serve=excellent * Sweetspot=huge * Touch shot=excellent * Overall=9.3

Been using this blade for less than a year. It is an awesome, powerful blade that works well with Tibhar MXP on the forehand and Xiom Omega V.
