Xiom Omega V Tour
Rubber description:
The Xiom Omega V Tour is a high-performance tensor rubber designed for offensive play. It is characterized by a medium-hard sponge and a highly grippy, non-tacky topsheet that excels at generating heavy spin. Players often describe the rubber as balanced, offering a blend of speed and massive spin potential without the extreme, unpredictable catapult effects found in some other high-end professional rubbers.
Performance Characteristics
- Spin and Grip: The rubber is highly regarded for its ability to produce significant rotation on loops and serves. It offers a secure “bite” on the ball, allowing for consistent opening loops and spin-heavy shots.
- Speed and Gears: It features a linear power delivery, meaning it responds predictably to the player’s input—slower on soft touches and powerful during aggressive swings. While it provides substantial speed, it remains manageable, offering a wide range of gears that transition well from short-game play to mid-distance looping.
- Control and Dwell: A standout feature of this rubber is its balance of control. Many users report that it feels “forgiving” and intuitive, helping to correct minor inaccuracies in technique. It offers a stable, medium dwell time that assists in precision shot-making.
- Trajectory: The throw angle is generally described as medium to medium-high, which helps produce a distinct, curved arc that aids in clearing the net consistently.
Usage and Maintenance
- Weight: The rubber is notably heavy, which can impact the overall weight of a setup; it is generally recommended for blades that are not already excessively heavy.
- Ideal Playstyle: It is most effective for aggressive, two-winged loopers and players who thrive in close-to-table or mid-distance exchanges. Because of its balance and responsiveness, it is favored by advanced players looking for a reliable, professional-grade offensive tool that provides consistent feedback.
- Setup Considerations: It performs well on a variety of blades, though users should be mindful that pairing it with certain very hard or bouncy blades may increase the overall speed and trajectory beyond what some players find comfortable. Due to its high-performance nature, it is generally considered unsuitable for beginners.

I am using it on TB ALC on the forehand. Its heavy rubber weight is approximately 56 grams. For heavy cuts, spinny serves, and sharp topspin, this rubber is very good. For pushes and counter shots, it won’t disappoint you. For near the table and mid-distance from the table, the rubber has enough power. If a player is playing from a long distance, this may feel a little slower when you want to kill the shot and place that winner. To balance the heavy weight, I am using Donic Coppa Gold (weight is 42 grams) on the backhand.

Sticky, with a catapult effect, I would not recommend this as a first rubber.

Excellent rubber.
