The Xiom Omega V Tour is a premium table tennis rubber that has garnered excellent reviews for its exceptional speed, spin, and control, making it a favorite among competitive players. Designed for those who demand high performance on both forehand (FH) and backhand (BH), it exhibits a unique blend of power and precision. With a speed rating of 9 and spin rating ticking the maximum at 10, it caters particularly well to aggressive, offensive play styles. The rubber has a throw angle of 5.3, which many players find optimal for generating consistent arcs in their loops, resulting in impressive ball placement over the net.
Regarding tackiness, the Xiom Omega V Tour has a subtle grip, rating at 1.7, which allows for effective topspin without hindering speed. It weighs 5.8 (considered medium) but may feel heavier during extended play, particularly for those used to lighter rubbers. Its notable durability rating of 7.9 reflects a resilience that stands up well under intensive training, although some players have noted a decrease in performance after extensive use. While the rubber is reported to offer great consistency and control (rated at 10), it may not be ideal for all players, particularly those preferring lighter options.
In terms of alternatives, players looking for a similar feel might consider the Xiom Vega Japan or Tenergy series from Butterfly, both of which have their strengths but often come at a higher price point. Overall, the Xiom Omega V Tour is an outstanding choice for players seeking reliable performance without heavily altering their technique, while its affordability compared to competitors increases its desirability.
I am using it on TB ALC on the forehand. Its heavy rubber weight is approximately 56 grams. For heavy cuts, spinny serves, and sharp topspin, this rubber is very good. For pushes and counter shots, it won’t disappoint you. For near the table and mid-distance from the table, the rubber has enough power. If a player is playing from a long distance, this may feel a little slower when you want to kill the shot and place that winner. To balance the heavy weight, I am using Donic Coppa Gold (weight is 42 grams) on the backhand.
Sticky, with a catapult effect, I would not recommend this as a first rubber.
Excellent rubber.
