Butterfly VSG-2000

All-wood 4 reviews

Blade description:

The Butterfly VSG-2000 is a high-performance table tennis blade designed for players seeking a balance between speed and control. This blade is crafted from seven layers of high-quality wood, providing a robust construction that delivers impressive power on offensive strokes while maintaining sufficient touch and feel for more delicate shots. With a speed rating of 9, the VSG-2000 caters to aggressive players looking for an edge in fast-paced gameplay.

Weighing in at 93 grams, the VSG-2000 falls into the medium weight category. Its thickness, combined with the stiffness rating of 4.7, supports rapid ball acceleration, making it suitable for powerful smashes and drives. While it offers excellent speed, the control rating of 8 ensures that players can confidently maneuver their shots without compromising accuracy, resulting in consistent performance throughout matches.

In terms of flexibility, the VSG-2000 provides a moderate level, allowing players to execute a variety of strokes effectively. Despite its speed, many users have praised its durability, noting that the blade remains in excellent condition even after extended use. Although it may not be the most controllable option for every player, those who can harness its power often see significant improvements in their game.

As for alternatives, players may consider the Butterfly Timo Boll series or the Stiga Carbon series, which offer similar high-speed characteristics and control. However, for those specifically looking for a blend of speed and reliability, the Butterfly VSG-2000 remains a standout choice among amateur and advanced players alike, often transforming their performance from novice to skilled.

I have had this blade for 5 years, and I take good care of it. It is still in very good condition. The weight is high, so when the ball hits hard, the feeling is amazing. My blade has power tape, so even though there is a little weight on top, it is ideal for heavy hitting. The quality-to-price ratio is awesome. With this blade, I have gone from being a very poor player to an advanced player.

I have been using this blade for two years now. It’s a very good blade with nice speed but with amazing control. It has great durability and actually looks almost new.

It hits very well. I use it with a Stiga Boost TS and a Sriver G2 FX. When combined with Boost TS on the forehand, it’s extremely fast while still being very controllable.

I use the blade with Tenergy 05 on the forehand and Bryce Speed FX on the backhand. It is an extremely fast blade but is not very controllable.
