Stiga Allround NCT

All-wood

Another classic all-wood blade from Stiga is the Stiga Allround NCT. It is 6mm thick and is constructed from five veneers: limba-ayous-ayous-ayous-limba. NCT coating is applied to the surface, which likely helps protect against splintering without altering the blade’s properties.

The Stiga Allround NCT performs well in all aspects, making it a true all-rounder. The handle is large and comfortable, and the balance is shifted towards the head of the blade due to the hollow handle. My sample weighs approximately 85g, which is slightly heavier than average.

The construction quality is excellent. Feedback is present, and vibrations are pleasant and informative. The blade is not overly stiff or hard, which makes it suitable for a wide range of players, particularly those focused on spin-oriented play.

If you’re looking for a flexible looping blade, go for the defensive NCT. This is stiff.

Made in Sweden. My favorite blade with inverted rubbers: it is light, not too fast for me, and has a large sweet spot. Given the good price, I recommend this as the first blade (after moving up from premade rackets) for all but the very strong, who will likely prefer something heavier. I don’t feel vibrations, and I prefer it this way.

I am not an expert, but I have tried a few blades out and I can tell you this blade is a masterpiece. The touch and feel it has is unbeatable, and the speed is enough to carry out a pinpoint attack or loop drives, in my humble opinion.

Anyway, here is a link to an article about German STIGA star Sabine Winter, a real pro who was the winner of the U21 Girls Singles 2012 Russian Open! Her winning material: Allround Wood NCT (blade) and Calibra LT Sound (rubbers).

This blade is a great option for amateurs. It offers a good balance of control and power, making it a versatile choice for players of all levels. Additionally, its affordable price point makes it a great value for money.

Very good blade for control, a little bit slow for attackers with slow rubbers. I tried it with DHS Hurricane 3 on forehand and Butterfly Tackiness on backhand. I’m thinking of using faster rubbers.

#7 — March 2014

Excellent blade for attack players.

#8 — October 2013

The best starter blade on the market. The control is the best I’ve played with. Speed sucks, but with the precision you get, who needs speed?

#9 — March 2013

Excellent blade from Stiga for players who need full control with good speed.

#10 — March 2013

Stiff and soft blade, not fast, good for close-to-table loopers and blockers.

In detail:

Throw: very high.

Spin: any rubbers seem to have more spin with this blade. Just great.

Speed: this blade is much faster than Allround classic, because the plies are glued with a carbon-based glue (NCT technology). So the speed is OFF-. this blade is slower than Offensive Wood NCT.

Stiffness: this blade is stiff. Offensive Wood NCT has more flex. The stiffness provides more control close to the table.

Weight: mine is 75 grams. Very light. This is a huge plus if you use heavy rubbers.

Comparison with similar blades: This blade is a faster version of Stiga Allround Classic; it has the same touch without being harder (whereas allround CR was faster but harder). Throw is just a tiny bit lower than allround classic.

It never let me down. It is always eager, willing, and compliant to the demands of all-around play.

10.

My blade has some flex (I feel it more when I hit hard). I think this blade increases the spin of the rubbers because of its flexibility.

#13 — May 2012

This blade is a good option for beginners, but it has a stiff feel. If you prefer flexible blades that are ideal for looping, this may not be a good choice for you.

#14 — June 2011

Very good blade, one of the best among the similar.

Blade Review

This blade has very good control for pimples. It is a good choice for players who want to generate spin and control the ball on the table. The blade is also very lightweight, making it easy to maneuver.

Pros:

* Good control for pimples * Lightweight * Easy to maneuver

Cons:

* May not be suitable for all playing styles

Fantastic control, decent spin, low speed. The feeling is okay. The quality of manufacture is very good. It is easy…

Very good all-around blade. I am playing with 1.7 mm Tenergy 05 on FH and 1.6 mm Tibhar Super Defence 40 on BH. A very interesting combination.

Feel: 100/10

Never before have I encountered a blade that offers such an exceptional feel on contact. I have ample experience with table tennis equipment, having played with approximately 15 different blades and tried out around 50. However, this blade stands head and shoulders above the rest in terms of feel and responsiveness. It is remarkably comfortable, not excessively fast, yet provides outstanding controllability. The sweet spot is generous, covering the full blade surface. The only drawback I encountered was the slightly undersized handle in the “master” size, which was not a perfect fit for my hand.

#18 — Long Time Ago...

I switched to CP RPB grip from shakehand and received this blade yesterday from tt11. I immediately fitted it with a new sheet of DHS Skyline II Neo for forehand and DHS PF4 on backhand (Red).

After an hour of training, I must say that this blade meets 90% of my expectations. I sought a blade that was spinier and somewhat lighter. I appreciate the resonant sound it produces upon impactful contact.

While it’s not particularly fast, when paired with Chinese rubbers and used with proper technique, this blade can generate unexpectedly impressive shots in terms of side spin and speed.

It’s slightly thicker than my previous blade, which was a hobby blade. The Stiga blade’s standout qualities are its consistent shots and ease of use, which is tempered by its moderate speed. I suspect it excels in short-range play. I will provide updates as the rubbers settle in and lose some tension.
