There is nothing special about the ‘Update’ version of the 5Q rubber. The previous version of 5Q was much better in terms of spin and control. The speed of the rubber is commendable; it can generate power even from mid-distance and farther away from the table. However, the spin is lacking.

This rubber is more suited for players with a flat hitting game rather than those who rely on looping. If you have a looping or spin-focused style of play, this rubber may not be the best choice for you, as it offers only average spin.

PROS:

  • Great speed
  • Good reception
  • Power even when played away from the table

CONS:

  • Controlling the rubber might be challenging for some players
  • Not ideal for looping
  • Slightly expensive

What a backhand rubber this is! I am highly impressed! The grip and tackiness are exceptional. The medium sponge allows for a lot of control in topspins from over the table. The pushes are excellent, even at extreme angles.

This rubber is not very sensitive to incoming spin, making it great for blocking—unlike its predecessor, the 5Q, which was very reactive to incoming spin. I can play powerful backhand topspins even from mid to far distances.

Overall, this is the best backhand rubber I have played with so far!

This is a very good rubber that delivers high spin and speed, along with excellent arc and control. It is fantastic to play with and is very similar to Tenergy 05 FX and Xiom Vega Pro. The loops and drives produced with this rubber are lethal.

The sponge is a porous, medium-hard, orange material that is highly elastic. The top sheet is also very grippy and somewhat elastic.

I tried the Tibhar Evolution series but did not like them as much as this rubber. I found them to be too fast and lacking in spin and control.

You have to try this one to truly appreciate its qualities. It comes highly recommended for spin-oriented attackers.
