This is a very popular rubber from Victas, maybe the most popular today. Several players in my club use it, either in the forehand (FH) or in both the FH and backhand (BH) positions. However, I haven’t been impressed by it.
Speed is very good, but spin is barely good, and control is average. It’s not a bad rubber, but I think there are better options in every regard. Just to give a few examples I have in mind: Hammond Z2 is as fast but spinnier and has better control. V>22, MX-P or R48 are faster. Vega Pro is spinnier and cheaper.
After playing Nittaku G1 (2mm), Victas V15 Extra will feel like a G1 with steroids. It is more powerful, more solid, and faster than G1, yet with the same excellent control of the famous G1. Both rubbers are also spinny, but the Victas V15 Extra has more gears.
Serves are very spinny and will force pressure on opponents. Looping is lovely. Smashing is good too. Pushes take some time to get used to, but it’s not hard at all after a few times. Blocking is easy. You don’t have to close the blade angle too much when blocking. It is quite a forgiving rubber.
I know Nittaku released G1 with 2.2mm recently, which I have yet to try. So, I cannot comment on whether the new G1 2.2mm is as good as the Victas V15 Extra. Don’t spend more money on the new V20 and V22 because they are virtually the same as V15 Extra.
This rubber is very hard, very spinny, and very fast. I play it on my backhand now since it was a bit too fast for my forehand. It is quite similar to the Fastarc G-1 that I tried on the same blade.
Best FH rubber is Donic Bluefire M3.
Very good backhand rubber. Control is high with a very nice feeling.
Top-quality rubber! It has a bit more “bite” than Fastarc G-1 (i.e., a bit faster and a bit more top-end spin on max power loops). Of course, it needs a higher level of technique to get the best out of it, but if you have the skills and are looking for a step up from G1, then this might be the one for you. It’s not too quick on low-to-mid power shots, but when you apply more power, there’s a significant kick. Imagine a cross between G1 and Evolution MX-P, and you’ve got the Victas V>15 Extra.
A very good rubber for the backhand. Unfortunately, after a month and a half (three times a week), it is finished.
Facts: Blue rubber in max. thickness (2.2 mm), 47.5-degree sponge hardness. “The most thorough table tennis shop in the world” (Spin and Speed) determined a total hardness of 57.6 degrees. My rubber has a weight of 49 g. (cut, 156 x 150 mm)
I know this rubber is extremely popular, but for me, it is not the measure of all things. If only it would provide more rotation, I could (possibly) imagine switching from the Nittaku FastArc G-1 to this rubber. However, the G-1 not only makes more spin but also a higher arc. The angle game also works better with it.
In the end, I only liked the V>15 better when smashing!
(… well! … and it is easier to control!)
Please note that I am reviewing this rubber as a backhand rubber (on ALC blade). That said, I will compare it to the best BH rubbers I have tried: Tenergy 05 and Rakza 7. V>15 Extra fits right between those two.
I found this rubber excellent for BH, especially in the power-control ratio. T05 is still a bit more offensive but harder to control. Rakza gives the same control but lacks the power Victas can produce.
I recommend V>15 Extra for those who like to open attack with BH topspin and also those who like to actively block. Unfortunately, I could not adapt it to my forehand. My FH style requires something with a harder sponge and more speed and spin (think of T05 Hard?). But for BH, I believe I will keep playing with it for a long time.
V -15 Extra is MH rubber. It’s 47.5* offensive rubber. Like most rubbers nowadays, it’s made in Germany but is not an ESN rubber. High-end rubber by TSP/Victas is not cheap for sure. It costs US$54, but I got it from TT11 for a lot less. No question, it’s a good offensive rubber, and the quality is there. But IMO, MXP is a bit better in feel and spin.
It’s great while it lasts. I switched from Andro Rasant Grip because of availability, and I wanted to be like Koki.
V15-Extra has 3 gears. If you hit flat you can bottom out the sponge easily. It feels a bit slow but control is good due to the low tackiness. At medium angles the rubber plays its worst - counter hitting has high throw angle with average spin.
Control chopping is ok, but nothing amazing. Looping is just insane! At fine angles it feels like I’m aiming at the back wall, but the ball dives very quickly due to the incredible spin. If you can hit it fine enough, backspin is also pretty mad. The soft sponge is forgiving throughout the loop, giving me a lot of confidence.
There are two problems I had with this rubber. Because it worked best at shallow angles I found that I edged the ball a lot more. Secondly, this rubber did not last very long at all. I went through 4 sheets of V15 in under 6 months - about 40 hours of play per sheet. At 40 hours there was obvious signs of wear on my contact points which caused the ball to slide out at shallow angles. The cost of the rubber and the short lifespan makes V15-Extra a pretty bad deal - a shame because I really wanted to love it.
Setup was V15-Extra 2.2 red (fh), Donic Bluefire M3 2.2 black (bh), TSP Swat Power, shakehand grip.
Very good backhand rubber. Control is high and forgiving. Inside out shots or snake shots are amazing.
Very happy with this rubber. I was trying to find a decent replacement for Tenergy 05. It plays a little harder and faster.
Spin is great, you get what you put in. “On average” my game has more spin across all strokes compared to the Tenergy 05.
More linear than Tenergy, not too bouncy in the short game but very fast on power loops.
Overall this rubber plays somewhat similar to the new Tenergy 05 Hard.
Using as a forehand rubber on the Marcos Freitas ALC, you can experience amazing speed, spin, and good control with a very nice feel.
It is considered one of the best alternatives to Tenergy.
Fantastic rubber!
Using this rubber as FH on a Tibhar Stratus Defense Wood IN 1.9mm, I switched to it a year ago from Tenergy 05. As a modern defender, this rubber meets all my needs. I’m able to loop just as well as I did with T05, although it does have less spin. However, the speed and throw arc are very similar to T05.
My short game has improved due to this rubber being far less sensitive to incoming spin. It chops like a dream as well. The top sheet does seem to wear out quicker than T05, but at 40-45 USD replacing it every 3-6 months is way better than the 75usd I was paying for T05.
I played with this rubber on Stiga Allround Evolution. On it, this rubber is very good in speed, spin, and control.
For faster blades, this rubber is very fast and very hard.
Although it emphasizes spin, the rubber is not particularly spiny. What is special is that it offers balanced performance with a non-tacky top sheet, making it less sensitive to spin. This benefits players who often take the chance to attack against backspin. In short, it is just another versatile medium-priced rubber.
This rubber excels in offensive gameplay.
However, using it on both sides of the paddle is not recommended as it is heavier than average.
My detailed review can be seen here: http://mytabletennis.net/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=73730&PID=910080.
Last year, I purchased three pieces of blue-colored maximum sponge rubber. The rubber performed well. However, after four to six weeks, all three pieces had shrunk by two to three millimeters. Given this issue, I do not believe the rubber is worth the cost.
Good rubber for backhand as it’s good for topspin. Good rubber for topspin player. My students’ backhand block and topspin have improved after using this rubber. The only disadvantage is that it shrinks when we remove it for re-pasting. With the off blade, it gives a good backhand drive from a distance and a good loop from the close table.
This rubber is a little less efficient than the Triple Double Xtra.
It has a nice topspin arc. It is Tenergy with less catapult and dwell time. However, it is very grippy compared to other rubbers. All topspins land on the table. But it is less spinny compared to V22. Bouncy in the short game. It has more control and dwell than MX-P, but the speed is the same.
Rubber is a bit too hard for my forehand shots. I suppose it is good for advanced players who prefer harder rubbers and have an offensive playing style. Once proper technique is applied, the ball shoots off like a bullet and wins points. Not my cup of tea. Spin and control are sometimes difficult. Would suit more advanced players.
Great speed and immediate responsiveness that does not compromise the opportunities for touch and control.
Great BH 2.0 rubber, relatively easy to create spin.
These rubber are perfect for players looking for extra spin and control. The grip is fantastic and the ball placement is easy to control. I would highly recommend this rubber to anyone looking to improve their game.
Excellent rubber.
FH on Victas Koki Niwa Wood.
Thickness 2.0.
Great control, works well in blocks, and excellent for chopping. I consider it very well-balanced and suitable for this blade.
Coup droit meilleur avec plus de contrôle.
Je compte en acheter un autre pour jouer à Rome en juillet 2024.
Very good offensive rubber, close-to-table game predictable trajectories of the ball and very good at spiny serves.
The best rubber I have used so far. I use the rubber for backhand and forehand. Very spinny. I would totally recommend. Good rubber. 👍.
A very good FH offensive rubber.
Fast and spinny, but not impossible to control. A little bouncy in the short game but that’s the trade-off for having such accessible levels of spin. Very easy to serve with spin; spinny and controlled on serves - very nice.
Overall, it’s a great close to the table and mid-distance topspin rubber because it doesn’t take exceptional effort to activate the sponge.
I use it on both FH and BH. I like the spin it can generate and the control it provides.
A great hard rubber, not to mention the sky blue version blends really well with the original Viscaria, especially for those players who want to match their setups #fashion. Fast and grippy. Good feeling. I’m still breaking in the rubber but I notice the rubber is sensitive to heat, so don’t use a heat gun on the installation with glue. With the Viscaria, it’s not as fast as the Tenergy 05 but offers great control. Low arc in looping, so adjust accordingly. Blocking is good also with this rubber.
This rubber is fast and really enjoyable to use.
The next one I’ll order will be blue, as it was sold out when I ordered.
Very good rubber with speed, spin, and excellent control.
No lo he usado todavía.
I have previously taken this rubber for a trial. Over a year and a half of use (training 1-2 times a week) nothing peeled off/swelled/cracked/scattered. Of course, the contact zone with the ball wore out, but other options usually didn’t last that long in principle. Andro Hexer (duro/powersponge) sponge crumbled from the edges, xiom europe - the rubber cracked in several places. Although maybe I gained more experience during this time, I hit the table less ))).
Advantages: excellent spin, long contact time with the ball when processing, sufficient control. I took it again because it suits me in everything.
Thanks to tabletennis11 for the assembly.
I liked it a lot, but people say that it is not very durable. I don’t know if it will really be like that because the rubber is very good and it is one of the few Japanese types that I would use on the BH instead of the Rakza Z. It has a nice fine touch and control, as well as power.
Very good for BH.
Убойная накладка, но нужно правильно подбирать основание.
Absolutely fantastic for a high-level player. The sponge outlasts the top sheet, and the top sheet is toast FAST. It’s too bad that the top sheet is done for so quickly because this is one of the best rubbers on the planet. I prefer this over T05 any day. However, I’d say that D09C beats this, and I am not a Butterfly fanboy by any stretch of the imagination. I wish they made this in 50 degrees, or even 53 degrees too. That would be nice. Victas’ packaging leaves room for 50 degrees as well. However, it’s almost 2021 and it still has not happened.
Same as 11 but heavier.
Up there with Tenergy.
The Victas V > 15 Extra is a fantastic rubber for all those who are looking for heavy spin, speed, and consistency. I’ve used many different rubbers over the past years, but this one is definitely worth trying it. In my opinion, the rubber is heavily underrated when compared to more expensive sheets. The rubber works perfectly well with Alc carbon blades. Give it a try and don’t always believe what other jealous experts might say. :)
Fair rubber, not very accurate and difficult to predict.
Appreciate their speedy service and quality products as always! Kudos to the TT11 team!
Very nice for spin and control, but it’s a little bit hard.
Good rubber for FH. Provides good spin and control. It helps elevate your game.
Very good rubber on the forehand of the Innerforce Layer ALC. Speed and spin, everything is there.
Good quality rubber pair with Victas Koki Niwa Wood.
First experience with Victas and a very pleasant one. Good spin, good speed, and control with a great feeling. Recommended.
Awesome for FH and BH, great for Drive, Block, Power Loop, Chop, and flicks. The only downside is slow loops; low tackiness requires more precise timing, but they can still be done.
Compared to Tenergy 05, the Victas V > 15 Extra rubber is slower and has less reaction to incoming spin, but it offers more control and forgiveness for errors in technique.
Installed on the forehand and has very nice smooth control with good power.
I matched this with V01 Limber on the backhand.
I have used this rubber on an ALC, ZLC, and all-wood blade, and it behaves somewhat differently. It’s a good rubber with good control, dwell, and durability. I would say this rubber can be used on both ALC and ZLC blades, the only drawback is when playing with ZLC, lifting the ball is hard, but otherwise, you can do everything. On the other side, on ALC, it works well. With an all-wood blade like the Infinity VPS, I couldn’t feel the ball spinning, it had no dwell time, so I didn’t like it at all.
It’s just a few touches lower compared to the 05, probably due to the sponge quality, which can be improved in the future.
Good rubber.
Очень хорошая накладка. Можно играть как на FH, так и на BH.
The best table tennis substitute for the Tenergy I have ever played.
My setup is Koki Niwa blade + V>15 Extra max on FH and V>15 Extra 2.0 on BH.
Good when you are determined to put a lot of power in your strokes either with a full arm swing or excellent wrist rotation or both. With such extreme strokes, the ball will be thrown enough with super-fast forward velocity. Also, because the rubber is not spin-sensitive, blocking is surprisingly fun and effective. When you stay close to the table with a high ball, you can direct the ball so well and fast. Side-spin doesn’t affect ball redirection that much.
Average when you don’t generate enough power, the ball will be pretty flat. If you tend to hold back your hand power, it may feel a bit dissatisfying.
Not ideal for players that rely a lot on spin and placement control. If you’re hesitant or change your mind passively, you’ll likely see the ball go flatter than you’d expect with other spin-sensitive rubbers. So better be really proactive and go for a fast pace. Technically, the speed is fast and can be explosive, but the spin is average.
Some notes: this rubber is perhaps easier to use on FH but pretty cool to use on BH if you are confident. See the BH technique here with the rubber on BH here https://youtu.be/HJRiCGizklU?t=51.
Nice for spin and control.
Good rubber.
Apparently hyped as another Tenergy alternative…
I’m not sure about Tenergy, but in comparison with Tibhar Evolution MX-P or MX-S, this rubber is just pretty dead.
I used it for a couple of weeks on FH (and V>15 Limber on BH). Half price, anyone? :)
It is a bit difficult to generate spin, and the power is not very strong. The advantage is the speed and not being very spin-sensitive.
My experience and opinion with Victas rubbers are that they are so beautiful they have become my favorite. Speed, spin, and control are on the mark. They deliver in distance playing and close to the table and cost almost half the price of Tenergy. Highly recommended for advanced players and all players. A definite must-have. Again, they are running parallel with Tenergy.
Hello Fellow TT Players.
After trying this rubber on a friend’s blade at the club, I was very impressed with the nice, smooth control it has.
I installed the Red Max Victas V >15 Extra on my Forehand side on an Adidas Carbon Strike blade. I’m a right-hand shake hands club-level player.
This rubber has very good, consistent control with good spin on loops and serves. For soft touch shots, like drop shots, it is very predictable and nice too.
When you dial up the power, it’s right there too and has very good power when you need it.
So if you’re a mid-level player looking to improve and maintain your control, and spin as you develop, this rubber will help your game.
On my backhand, I use Victas V >01 Limber which also has very good, consistent, and predictable control, spin, touch, and power.
I believe both these rubbers will help me reach the next level as I develop.
This is a fantastic rubber. I love it on the backhand too… flicks are incredibly easy. It is plenty grippy and spinny. Short game is good too. Coming from T05 and Tenergy 25fx, I found my less expensive alternative. Very happy.
After much searching, a good rubber finally found that fixes the technical flaws holds up well and doesn’t lose its dynamism.
