Victas Ventus Stiff

Rubber description:

Victas Ventus Stiff is a table tennis rubber designed for aggressive and power-oriented players, characterized by its exceptional speed and spin potential.

Speed: 109 Ventus Stiff ranks among the fastest rubbers in the Victas lineup, earning a speed rating of 109. This characteristic makes it ideal for generating fast-paced shots, aggressive counter-attacks, and powerful topspin drives. The rubber’s responsiveness and catapult effect allow players to create sharp angles and maintain high ball speed throughout the rally.

Spin: 104 Despite its emphasis on speed, Ventus Stiff also offers impressive spin capabilities, earning a spin rating of 104. The rubber’s tacky surface and high elasticity contribute to exceptional grip on the ball, enabling players to generate heavy spin on serves, loops, and counter-attacks. The rubber’s ability to impart spin is particularly valuable for creating deception and keeping opponents off balance.

Control: 93 While Ventus Stiff prioritizes speed and spin, it maintains a reasonable level of control with a rating of 93. This balance is crucial for players who seek a combination of power and precision in their game. The rubber’s predictable trajectory and consistent response allow players to execute controlled shots, maintain accuracy, and minimize unforced errors.

Tackiness: 0 Ventus Stiff is a non-tacky rubber, meaning it has a smooth and less grippy surface compared to tacky rubbers. This characteristic makes it less sensitive to dirt and dust accumulation, resulting in consistent performance over long rallies. Additionally, the non-tacky surface provides a crisp and direct feel on the ball, facilitating precise shot execution and control.

Hardness: 5.8 Ventus Stiff features a sponge hardness rating of 5.8, indicating a medium-hard sponge. This level of hardness provides a balance between speed and control, allowing players to generate powerful shots without compromising precision. The medium-hard sponge also contributes to the rubber’s responsiveness, enabling quick ball acceleration and effective energy transfer.

Overall: 8.9 With an overall rating of 8.9, Victas Ventus Stiff is a high-performance rubber that caters to the needs of advanced and professional table tennis players. Its combination of speed, spin, and control makes it an excellent choice for aggressive players who prioritize power and versatility in their game. Whether it’s generating blistering topspins, executing lightning-fast counter-attacks, or maintaining pinpoint accuracy, Ventus Stiff offers the necessary attributes for achieving success at the highest levels of competition.

TSP Ventus Speed is known as a great all-rounder. It offers a good balance of speed, spin, and control. The throw is high enough for effective close and mid-distance play.

#2 — Long Time Ago...

I have been using this rubber in 1.8mm thickness (under its old name: TSP Ventus Speed) for 2 years now and have tried it on various OFF blades.

Facts:

  • My packed (as “light” as possible!!!) rubbers weighed between 96 and 98 g.
  • Strangely enough, each still weighed 66g. uncut.
  • On a 160 x 152 mm blade, the rubber weighs 47 g.
  • On a 157 x 150 mm blade, the rubber weighs 45g. !!!
  • The sponge hardness is 45 and the overall hardness is 49.3 (…according to “Spin and Speed”!!!)

Conclusion:
This rubber is one of the best “BH rubbers” on the market. Whether directly at the table or slightly behind it, you always feel extremely good control. My balls (even if I continue to play them “passively” behind the table) get a nice length and still reach their target.

Conclusion 2:
Fortunately, this rubber is still produced and sold by VICTAS!!! THANK YOU, Victas.

Addendum:
I’m curious to see whether this Victas rubber lasts as long as the old one from TSP.
