Xiom Omega 2 Asian is a highly regarded table tennis rubber, celebrated for its exceptional speed and responsiveness. This rubber features an advanced BIOS Tensor Technology, which offers a lively feel, making it an alluring choice for aggressive players seeking to dominate the game with fast-paced attacks. With a speed rating of 9.3 and a considerable spin capability of 8.5, it caters primarily to intermediate and advanced players who can handle its explosive characteristics. However, its high speed often comes at the expense of control, making it potentially challenging for beginners.
In terms of tackiness, the rubber scores low at 2.1, which might limit the spin effects compared to tackier alternatives; it excels more in delivering rapid rebounds over creating spin-heavy loops. The weight of the Xiom Omega 2 Asian is rated as medium, offering a solid balance without being overly cumbersome for high-speed play. This rubber’s sponge hardness is marked at 6.1, falling in line with its quick response but also contributing to a learning curve as players adapt to its bounciness.
The durability of Xiom Omega 2 Asian is rated at 7.4, reflecting a robust construction well-suited for competitive play, although users have noted that it may require practice to maximize its performance. For players seeking alternatives, other rubbers like the Tenergy series or even the Roxon 450 can be worthwhile options, albeit with distinct playing characteristics. Overall, Xiom Omega 2 Asian is recommended for offensive players who prioritize speed and are ready to embrace the intricacies of its control.
I use Xiom Omega 2 Asian on my Xiom Omega Pro Blade. This is quite a good rubber! It is very bouncy, so you will need time to control it. Overall, I am satisfied with this rubber.
Update: I have updated several items (control, tackiness, and throw angle). My opinion still stands. This is a fast tension rubber that has decent control and is not too spinny. It is, however, heavy rubber.
Fast but not enough spin.
Not suitable for beginners.
Xiom Omega 2 Asian is quite a good rubber for intermediates. This rubber is very fast, but it lacks in control and spin. (The speed may be due to the BIOS Tensor Rubber.) So it might be hard for beginners to control. It is not recommended for beginners or for use on an OFF+ blade, which would maximize your speed and limit your control. I recommend this rubber for use on a flexible and light blade.
