Xiom Omega IV Pro
Rubber description:
The Xiom Omega IV Pro is a tensor rubber designed for offensive play, characterized by a firm, hard feel and significant speed potential. It is engineered for aggressive players who rely on topspin attacks, flat hitting, and powerful looping from close-to-mid range.
Performance Characteristics
- Spin and Speed: The rubber generates heavy spin and high speed, requiring solid technique and proper stroke mechanics to fully activate the sponge. It is often noted for a “click” sound and a direct, immediate feel upon ball contact.
- Trajectory: It typically features a low-to-medium throw angle, producing a flat, penetrating arc that is effective for fast, aggressive shots.
- Control and Dwell: Due to the firmer sponge, the rubber offers a more direct connection than softer alternatives. While excellent for blocking—as it stays stable and accurate against incoming pace—it requires a fine touch for the short game and delicate shots.
- Sensitivity: It is noted for being relatively less sensitive to incoming spin compared to some high-end alternatives, which can aid in consistency during service returns and counter-attacking.
Practical Considerations
- Equipment Pairing: It performs best when paired with stiff, harder blades. Some users find the rubber too fast or hard for backhand use depending on their style, though others utilize it effectively there for punch-blocking and aggressive drives.
- Durability: The topsheet is generally praised for its longevity and resistance to wear, making it a reliable choice for players seeking high performance over an extended period.
- Technical Requirement: This rubber is not intended for beginners. It rewards players with established, full-swing strokes and consistent body rotation, as it demands clean, assertive contact to produce its highest quality output.

I’ve been using this rubber for 2 weeks. I purchased it after trying it once on a Viscaria blade in our club. I liked the feel and control it had, as well as looping close-mid distance.
However, it performs quite differently on my Petr Korbel blade. I like control and feel when playing close to the table, and chopping and driving are both good.
Looping was a disappointment. Maybe I don’t have enough skill, or maybe it’s the combination with this particular blade model, but I cannot generate enough spin on it. I could hit flat, smash, but producing a high-quality spiny loop is too difficult.
I compare it with Tenergy 05, which I had before. Because of the loop quality, I decided to switch to another rubber (T19) and it seems to be much better now.

Excellent spin production: This rubber provides exceptional spin, allowing for precise and powerful shots.
Excellent speed production: With the appropriate stroke technique, this rubber can generate impressive speed for aggressive play.
Control: Despite its high spin capabilities, this rubber exhibits remarkable control. It is not overly sensitive to incoming spin, providing stability and predictability in various playing situations.
Recommendation: Highly recommended for the backhand, where it combines spin, control, and power for effective defense and counterattacking.
