The Xiom Omega V Euro is a high-performance table tennis rubber that excels in providing a balanced combination of speed, spin, and control, making it a versatile choice for players at various skill levels. With an impressive speed rating of 9.1 and a spin rating of 9.3, this rubber is particularly well-suited for offensive play. The rubber’s medium-hard sponge (approximately 45 degrees) and tensor technology allow for enhanced energy return, resulting in consistent performance during fast-paced rallies.
In terms of tackiness, the Omega V Euro scores a mere 2.1, which indicates that it is relatively non-tacky. This characteristic makes it particularly effective for players who prefer a rubber that is less sensitive to incoming spin, enabling more reliable backhand flicks and counters against heavy spin. The overall weight is rated at 5.4, categorized as medium, providing a good balance that many players find manageable for extended play.
The durability of the Xiom Omega V Euro is commendable, rated at 8.1, allowing players to enjoy consistent performance for several months. Many users have reported that the rubber maintains its characteristics well, even after extensive use. While there are alternatives within the Omega series, such as the Pro and Tour versions, the Omega V Euro stands out for its combination of ease of use and control, particularly for backhand applications. Overall, this rubber caters to players seeking a dependable yet high-performing option for their gameplay.
Blocks: Excellent
Drives: Pretty good
Counters: Insanely good and insensitive to spin
Looping: Good
Powerlooping: Not good, tends to dump in the net; requires brushing and hitting in the same stroke for power and spin.
Serve/Receive: Mediocre
Opening: Easy when brushing the topsheet only.
Overall, this rubber is average for players who want to set up for a shot on the other side of the racket or counter for the win. Counterlooping and topspinning fast and powerfully are not its strengths, but it offers good spin and countering capabilities.
One of the best backhand rubbers! It’s spin insensitive, so backhand flicks against heavy spins are easy. The medium-hard sponge makes the rubber consistent when flicking. It has good speed and control, a solid catapult effect, and reasonable amounts of spin. Overall, I would rate it 8.5/10. This rubber is a safe bet; you can’t go wrong with it. The Omega series is a much better choice than Vega in today’s era.
I use it backhand on YEO as 2 mm sponge in black color. It’s very nice for blocking, produces crisp feeling and is not sensitive to spin. It has a 45-degree sponge and a firm top sheet, so it doesn’t have a soft feel. For topspin games, you must brush the ball property. Then, it can be a spin monster and the speed is phenomenal. It has a nonreactive sponge, so it is very controllable over the table. If you hit hard, it will produce very spiny top spins with a lot of speed. And, it is durable too. For 35 euros in my country, it is a good value for money.
