Xiom Sigma 1 Euro
Rubber description:
Rubber Classification
This is a tensor rubber, featuring a porous sponge and a compact, grippy topsheet. It is designed for offensive play, offering a balance of speed and spin that makes it a versatile choice for both forehand and backhand applications.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Spin: The rubber provides high levels of speed and significant spin potential, particularly for loop drives. It is effective for generating heavy topspin and enables fast, aggressive flicks and smashes. The arc produced is generally described as low, which is beneficial for blocking and maintaining pressure.
- Control and Dwell Time: While it features a noticeable catapult effect, it remains controllable for an offensive rubber. It requires a period of adjustment for the short game and touch shots due to its bouncy nature. Performance is highly dependent on the blade, with medium-stiff setups often yielding the best balance between grip and feedback.
- Playing Style: It is well-suited for all-round offensive players who engage in looping from both mid and far distances. While it excels in offensive exchanges, blocks, and counters, its performance in the short game (pushes and serve returns) requires technique to manage the responsiveness of the sponge and the firmness of the topsheet.

The rubber has a nice grip, low throw, and medium hardness. It provides good catapult power, but not extreme. The topsheet is firm, while the sponge is medium. It allows for spinny openings and a low arc when blocking. Overall, it is a very good backhand rubber.

Very good rubber for both forehand and backhand. One of the best rubbers ever made. This is a great attacking rubber with insane catapult and great speed. It’s the best alternative for Tenergy.
Its main weapon is control, like a horse. However, keep your shots controlled because of its high power.

The top sheet is grippy only when playing mid or far from the table. Because the sponge feels hard, the ball does not sink into the topsheet in the short game, so you cannot topspin an underspin. There is no grip in the short game.
