Rubber description:

Xiom Omega IV Asia is a high-performance table tennis rubber that appeals to competitive players seeking an optimal balance between speed, spin, and control. With a speed rating of 130 and a spin rating of 120, this rubber produces explosive performance during aggressive shots, while its control rating of 8.8 allows for precision play. The rubber features a hard sponge with a hardness rating of 7.2, providing excellent feedback on each hit, making it less forgiving but extremely reliable for skilled players.

In terms of tackiness, the Omega IV Asia measures 2.2, making it slightly tacky but less so than some alternatives, allowing effective execution of spin-heavy serves and loops without excessive catapult effects. Players appreciate the rubber’s consistent performance, particularly under various playing conditions and techniques. Its weight falls under the medium category (4.5), making it manageable for many players without compromising speed or spin.

Durability is rated at 7.9, ensuring that the rubber withstands rigorous training sessions while retaining performance characteristics over time. However, users should be aware that keeping the rubber clean is essential, as dust accumulation can affect its tackiness. Alternatives to the Omega IV Asia include other Xiom rubbers like the Omega IV Pro and V Tour, as well as popular options like Butterfly Tenergy series, though many players find the performance comparison favorable towards the Omega IV Asia, particularly considering its more affordable price point without sacrificing quality.

Didn’t like this one. Too slow and not enough spin.

#2 — October 2017

Good for FH. It is very spinny, with good control. Looping with this rubber is also very good.

#3 — February 2016

Same spin as P7, FastArc G-1, T05, but faster with lower throw. Less bouncy and more controllable in blocks and rallies.

I tested this rubber as FH and BH on Tenor, Violin, Acoustic, Acoustic Carbon, 7P2A, Extra Offensive, Ludeack, and TB ALC blades. As FH only on Excellent A, Extra Special, P500, Ludeack Fleet, Offensive S, and Joo Se Hyuk blades.

It performs well on all these blades, especially when paired with stiffer blades.

Recently, I acquired a Viscaria black tag and applied this rubber on the forehand. The combination is outstanding!

I’ve purchased another pair to replace the Asia on my FH and the Rakza 7 on my BH. Compared to the Rakza 7, it has less bounce, more grip, and a lower throw.

Note that this rubber requires about a week to break in. Afterward, the topsheet becomes very soft. It works effectively with plastic balls without the need for technique adjustments.
