Xiom Omega IV Elite
Rubber description:
The Xiom Omega IV Elite is a tensor rubber designed for players seeking a blend of high spin potential and reliable precision. It features a specialized soft Carbo Sponge paired with a modern top sheet, engineered to replicate the soft-but-solid “clicking” sensation associated with traditional speed-glued rubbers.
Key Characteristics
- Spin and Trajectory: This rubber is recognized for its high spin capability. It produces a noticeably high, arching flight trajectory, which provides a larger margin for error over the net and helps in lifting backspin shots during loops.
- Feel and Dwell Time: The soft sponge construction increases dwell time, allowing the ball to sink deeper into the surface. This enhances touch and control during passive play, such as blocking and chopping, while offering a forgiving feel for loopers.
- Speed and Catapult: While it possesses built-in tension, it is generally considered to have moderate speed. It relies on a noticeable catapult effect, making it effective for aggressive topspin shots and flicks, though it may feel slow if paired with softer or slower blades.
- Control: Widely praised for its high control, it is frequently utilized by all-round and developing players, as well as those favoring a backhand rubber that offers stability and security in competitive play.
Performance Considerations
- Equipment Pairing: Its performance is highly dependent on the blade; it performs best when paired with stiffer, faster, or carbon-composite blades to compensate for the softness of the sponge.
- Durability: Some users report that the sponge and top sheet may experience accelerated wear or a loss of “speed-glue” liveliness after several months of regular, high-intensity use.
- Versatility: Due to its soft, grippy nature and high-throw arc, it serves as an effective tool for both attackers seeking controlled loops and defenders needing a reliable surface for chop-blocks and defensive stability.

I have been using this rubber on a Petr Korbel blade on both sides for about 10 months. I participate in local tournaments at an amateur level. It has enough speed for a beginner player, but since the shooting angle is high, some of my shots can go off the table. I don’t know if it’s worth the money, but it’s a good rubber for me.

Great rubber for developing players.
Good spin and high control due to its soft sponge.
Nice and controllable topspins.
For advanced players, it may be slow.
However, the speed depends on the blade.
On a slow blade, it’s very slow.
Overall, this is a great rubber.
