Rubber description:

The Xiom Omega IV Elite is a highly praised table tennis rubber known for its remarkable control and spin capabilities, making it an ideal choice for players looking to improve their overall game. With a soft sponge hardness rated at 40 degrees, this rubber offers an exceptional feel, allowing players to engage the ball deeply for powerful spins. This rubber excels in providing a large margin for error, enabling players to execute complex shots with precision. The unique tensor technology incorporated into the rubber contributes to its impressive traction and responsiveness, catering particularly well to loopers and players who favor a spin-heavy style of play.

In terms of tackiness, the Omega IV Elite exhibits a medium-level grip that perfectly balances spin and control, making it suitable for varied playing styles. While some users have reported it feeling ‘mushy’ when compared to other soft rubbers, many appreciate the soft feel as an advantage for executing topspin shots and flips with increased precision. Its weight is classified as medium, striking a good balance between maneuverability and stability during play.

Durability, however, is a mixed bag; while the rubber offers excellent performance for several months, many players have reported issues with its longevity, particularly under intensive use. This characteristic might lead players to consider alternatives like the Yasaka Rakza 7 Soft or Andro Rasant, which have been noted for similar qualities but varying durability experiences.

Overall, the Xiom Omega IV Elite is particularly recommended for developing players and those transitioning to more advanced styles. Its high control ratings combined with substantial spin make it an outstanding performance rubber, ideal for both forehand and backhand strokes. For players focused on enhancing their looping capabilities without sacrificing control, the Omega IV Elite stands as one of the top contenders in the market.

I have been using this rubber on a Petr Korbel blade on both sides for about 10 months. I participate in local tournaments at an amateur level. It has enough speed for a beginner player, but since the shooting angle is high, some of my shots can go off the table. I don’t know if it’s worth the money, but it’s a good rubber for me.

Great rubber for developing players.
Good spin and high control due to its soft sponge.
Nice and controllable topspins.
For advanced players, it may be slow.
However, the speed depends on the blade.
On a slow blade, it’s very slow.
Overall, this is a great rubber.
