The Xiom Omega VII Euro is a high-performance table tennis rubber designed specifically for the modern 40+ plastic balls, catering to players who demand control and finesse in their game. It offers a blend of speed, spin, and control, making it a popular choice among intermediate to advanced players. With a speed rating of 9, spin rating of 9, and control rating of 9, it demonstrates remarkable versatility that allows players to execute a variety of shots with precision.
One of the standout characteristics of the Omega VII Euro is its relatively low tackiness, rated at 1.8, which enables players to grip the ball effectively while still imparting considerable spin. This rubber has a medium weight rating, making it lighter than many other options on the market (weighing around 2.8). This characteristic enhances maneuverability and quick recovery in fast-paced rallies, allowing for better dynamics with your strokes.
Durability is another strong suit of the Omega VII Euro, scoring 8.3, which is impressive considering its performance attributes. The sponge hardness at 42.5° ensures a good balance between softness for control and hardness for punchy shots. While some players may prefer a harder alternative for more aggressive play, the Omega VII Euro shines in its ability to deliver consistent feedback and feel during shots, making it an excellent choice for those who prioritize control.
For players seeking alternatives, options such as the Xiom Omega VII Pro or other brands like Stiga Mantra M or Nittaku Fastarc might be considered. However, the Omega VII Euro stands out for those who prefer a lighter setup with a focus on spin and control, particularly beneficial for close-to-the-table executing of shots like flicks and loops. This rubber has been well-received in reviews, with players noting its performance in all areas of the game while also appreciating its significant weight advantage.
Rubbers are playing well.
It’s a fairly soft rubber which would suit better on the backhand for some people. It’s also a touch slower than O7P but it’s still pretty quick when using correct technique. The rubber is light, it’s about 44 grams when cut to a TBS and it’s a max sponge. Excellent if you want to reduce the total weight of your paddle. Excellent value especially if you can get them on sale at TT11.
Inherits Vega Pro’s solid feeling in hard strokes. However, the spin isn’t that impressive.
