Mark V offers enhanced speed and spin, providing a very balanced performance. It excels in looping, making it a great choice for players who focus on that technique. Compared to the Rigan standard, it delivers 10% more spin, although it has 10% less speed. Overall, it’s an excellent rubber for those looking to improve their game.
Certainly do not trust at least four of the reviews provided here. I considered purchasing this rubber; however, the consensus from another website rates the speed as 8 and the spin as 8.
The product receives a notable score of 9.8 for its price-to-performance ratio. It significantly outperforms the Mark V HPS, making it an excellent choice for players seeking quality at a reasonable price.
Wow! I did not see this coming. I mean, Rigan was very good—actually better than Mark V HPS. This rubber is way, way better in all aspects!
Currently, 25% of our training group plays with this rubber now. You can do everything with it. And the spin? Say no more!
Depending on the sponge, there can be significant differences in performance. The Max Sponge plays similarly to a MX-P in 1.9, although the spin is not quite as pronounced. However, it is definitely zippier and provides more spin than its predecessors, HPS and HPS Soft. This is, my ladies and gentlemen, the Mark V in A.D. 2019!
The first four training sessions with this rubber, the Nittaku Renanos on the backhand, were both a thrilling journey into the past and a hopeful song for the future. It is an easy-to-play rubber that anyone can pick up and use with confidence.
What a wonderful little gem! It has everything a player could want. Both men and women can enjoy it!
With upgraded spin and improved speed, this little beauty is the perfect wish for a Christmas present!
When the Rigan was first introduced to the market, it felt more like a continuation of the classic Mark V rather than an upgrade like its two predecessors, HPS and HPS Soft. It embodies all the hallmarks of the Mark V. In this review, I will discuss its successor, the Rigan Spin.
You are absolutely right; the Rigan is essentially an upgraded tensioned version of the HPS, featuring the new Hybrid Energy technology. This rubber is a remarkably spin-oriented version of the Mark V, and it’s arguably the spinniest iteration yet. It combines the best qualities of both Rakza and Mark V.
While it may not be as powerful as the Rakza 7, it offers impressive built-in power and is accessible enough for anyone to pick up and play, making it feel as if they have always used it. Moreover, this rubber is affordably priced and durable enough that you could easily discuss your experiences with it for generations to come, whether with your children or grandchildren.
After my initial testing with a group of friends, I plan to order 15 to 20 pieces. I recommend using the Rigan Spin as a forehand rubber while pairing it with the older version for the backhand. This setup provides a fantastic backhand with excellent spin, complemented by a stronger forehand rubber like Japan’s best-selling rubber, the Nittaku Fastarc G1. Conversely, you can also use it with a Max sponge for drives and spinny serves, coupled with a Rasanter R47 for the backhand.
As crazy as it sounds, the more I play with it, the more I realize I’m onto something special! So, go ahead and buy the Rigan Spin; you’ll feel like a 14-year-old again, just about to embark on the first training session of the week with your very own Mark V!
