Nittaku Ma Long Carbon LG (Large Handle)
Blade description:
The Nittaku Ma Long Carbon LG is an offensive-oriented composite blade featuring a 5+2 construction. It is recognized for its high-quality craftsmanship, solid construction, and substantial weight, typically ranging between 94g and 96g. This mass contributes to a stable feel during play, though it requires precise footwork to maximize the power potential during aggressive forehand attacks.
Performance Characteristics
- Speed and Power: The blade offers an offensive performance level. It exhibits a noticeable degree of flex, which allows for the production of high-spin, heavy shots when executed with proper technique. It provides sufficient velocity for offensive play without feeling overly erratic or “rocket-like.”
- Control and Feel: The blade is noted for its clear, tactile feedback, providing the player with a distinct sense of the ball upon impact. This clear vibration enhances control during delicate touches, short play, and service returns.
- Versatility: It excels in spin generation and blocking stability. The backhand, in particular, benefits from the blade’s structural properties, allowing for consistent and active blocking.
Physical Features
- LG Handle: The “Large Handle” is a standout feature, utilizing a unique hybrid shape that blends concave and conical geometry. It is specifically designed to accommodate players with larger hands, providing a comfortable and ergonomic grip.
- Balance: Due to its heavier weight and larger head size, the blade offers a distinct balance profile that some players may choose to modify by reducing the head surface area to improve maneuverability for quick strokes like the banana flick.

All-around blade. Excellent blocking on the backhand.
Mine is 95gm, heavier than the average blade, and thus requires good footwork to make strong forehand attacks.
The handle is large but soft and comfortable; it can be sanded easily. High-quality craftsmanship.

I wouldn’t categorize this blade as OFF. When you hit a proper stroke, the blade flexes a lot and produces really heavy balls loaded with power and spin!
It is faster than my Viscaria (87g) on powerful shots but slower on short touch. My blade is 94g, and I later reduced the head size to 158x152, making it 92.7g and providing much better weight balance.
It has a really clear vibration, which I like, especially when you hit hard. For me, blocking with the backhand required a longer stroke forward; otherwise, I sometimes hit the net. This doesn’t happen with my Viscaria, for example, but with this ‘active’ type of block, you get more out of your shot and apply more pressure to the opponent.
The only con for me was the big head size (which I easily fixed) because it made it hard to do banana flicks. I tested it with Rasanter C53 max on both sides.

Excellent. It’s my favorite.
