Nittaku Septear Feel

Blade description:

Construction and Material Composition

This blade features a 7-ply construction consisting of 5 wood plies and 2 layers of FE Carbon. The outer layers are crafted from Hinoki wood, a material prized for its soft, premium touch and high-quality finish. Due to the inherent properties of Hinoki, the blade requires careful handling to avoid surface cracking or impact damage against the table.

Playing Characteristics

The blade is defined by its exceptional dwell time and high degree of feedback, providing a distinct “feeling” that connects the player to the ball. While it offers moderate to high offensive speed, its primary strengths lie in spin generation and placement accuracy. The combination of Hinoki wood and FE Carbon results in a stiff yet responsive feel that facilitates high-throw arcs, making it highly effective for looping, creating heavy spin, and executing precise short-game play.

  • Dwell and Feel: The blade provides a “pause” effect during high-power strokes, allowing for significant tension and spin manipulation.
  • Speed and Control: It is optimized for those who prioritize spin and control over raw speed. While it performs well in mid-to-near-table rallies, it is less suited for pure blocking, as the composition can be sensitive to incoming rotation.
  • Versatility: Suitable for a range of playing styles, from active spin-oriented attacking to controlled defensive play. It is particularly noted for its ability to produce consistent, high-arc shots across different areas of the court.

Frankly, this is the best paddle I’ve ever had (and I’ve tried almost everything). For me, the best feeling is that it seems like an extension of my arm.

It gives me much more confidence in placing the ball where I want it. And because I have more contact time with the ball, the resulting spin is much greater than with any other paddle I’ve tried. It’s a great discovery that I didn’t expect at all. 😉

This blade is something incredible. I have used many blades, both cheap and expensive, and the control this blade provides is amazing. The speed is moderate, and the spin is out of this world.

With good technique, you can use this blade without any problems. I am currently using it with a Forehand Battle 2 Provincial 39 degrees and a Backhand Gold Arc 9 of 38 degrees.

Note: Don’t hit it against the table.

Everyone is always buying Ma Long 5 Viscaria and other similar blades. However, this blade is truly exceptional. I have used a variety of inexpensive Chinese blades like Yinhe, as well as Xiom and Butterfly Zhang Jike ALC. Yet, none compare to this one.

While other blades may be faster, what is the point of speed if you keep hitting the ball out? This blade offers approximately 90% of the offensive speed of other blades, but with the most incredible feel. The spin is extraordinary. I originally purchased it because it was on sale, and it has now become my primary blade. I pair it with Hurricane 3 Neo and Rakza 7.
