All-wood
Very good blade. It provides a lot of feel. I use the Penhold version with short pimples. It’s a perfect blade for my playing style.
The best all wood blade I have. Specially designed for penholder, it offers fast speed, low throw, and a long trajectory.
I play CPen short pips one sided, and after playing many blades, this one still stands out as the best complement to my style and rubber. I always come back to this blade whenever I try new ones. It’s fast, controllable, has a soft feel despite being stiff, and pairs very well with soft short pips on the forehand.
Review
This is an OFF blade. I have played with it occasionally, using a flared handle. It is a little heavy, but it hits the ball well, producing a low arc that is good for smashes. As is usual with Kiso Hinoki wood, it offers very good control and blocking capabilities. If you enjoy 7-ply Hinoki blades, this one is faster and stiffer than the Darker 7P-2a 7t, the 7P-2A Point Carbon, or even the Nittaku Septear. If you have a heavy hand, you will love it.
