Review text:

Paired with Donic Dotec Walder AR blade, this rubber did not seem to excel in any particular area compared to other rubbers available on the market at the time of this review (2015). The combination of high throw, soft sponge, and low control did not prove to be effective.

With improved control, this rubber might have had more potential. However, due to its low control (as also indicated by the community ratings), it failed to perform exceptionally well in any aspect, delivering a performance that could be matched by other rubbers at a similar price point.

Despite its noticeably higher throw compared to standard rubbers like Hexer or Vega Europe/Vega Pro, it lacked the control, spin, or speed of these rubbers. The throw angle was slightly lower than T05.

Numerous rubbers offer better combinations of control and spin, control and speed, speed and throw, among other factors. Unless the Dotec AR was a poor blade/rubber combination, the community ratings provide an accurate assessment of its performance, with ratings such as 5.5/10 for durability and 5/10 for gears, indicating an overall average performance.

Not so fast but very controllable and spinny rubber. Good choice for backhandside for all-around players. 2.0mm is the best option for me. I really like this rubber.

Very soft sponge and light rubber utilizing tensor. Control is much better than most tensors due to the soft sponge (extra dwell time).

Quite fast though, meant for spin more than speed.

Most suitable for all-rounder attack with extra control rather than all-out speed.

Ventajas: Ligera

Desventajas: Poca duración y precio elevado, aunque no tanto como otras marcas como Butterfly, Stiga, Xiom, etc.

Played a complete season with this rubber for my backhand. I never loved it, nor hated it, so I’m going for something different next year. I am currently playing Coppajo Silver on my forehand with a thickness of 2.1mm and I’m thinking of trying a thinner version for my backhand. This rubber was not tacky enough for me and the throw angle was too high for my game.

Quattro Formula is a very soft and controllable tensor with a rather high throw angle. Compared to the F3 Desto Big Slam, it’s slightly slower and more suited for aggressive all-rounders than attackers.

It pushes remarkably well. Blocking takes a while to get used to when switching from a classic rubber due to the throw angle and softness.

Attack-wise, it’s above average - what else would you expect from a tensor? Definitely one of my personal all-round favorites!

An excellent rubber for offensive players. It is a very fast rubber with a high throw angle. This makes it ideal for looping and topspinning. The rubber is also very durable and can withstand a lot of play.

It is a good choice for players who want a fast rubber with a lot of spin. It is also a good choice for players who want a durable rubber that will last a long time.

However, it is not a good choice for players who want a slow rubber. It is also not a good choice for players who want a rubber with a low throw angle.

A little hard to describe as I’m not a frequent user of tensor rubbers. Compared to Xiom yanus, this Donic has less spin (yanus is slightly tacky when new) and more speed. It needs more gears near the table, as it’s a mid-distance animal.
