Perfect backhand rubber if you are looking to keep the overall weight down. Low throw, which I love, great control and a really nice feel. An ideal partner to Tenergy 05 on forehand.

Nittaku Hammondpro Beta is a solid backhand rubber. It features good speed and a low throw angle. The relatively soft sponge and long trajectory make it comparable to Tenergy 64 in those aspects, but it is more forgiving and easier to push with.

Despite relative insensitivity to incoming spin, you will need to adjust to the low throw.

This rubber performs adequately in most areas, but excels in blocking and open-ups. Power loops and drives/smashes tend to go long if you are not at least mid-distance from the table. It is recommended on a 7-ply OFF blade with a higher throw to complement the low throw of the rubber.

Hammondpro Beta improves upon its predecessor, Hammondpro Alpha, especially in spin. It is recommended for offensive players with a passive backhand who rely on open-ups, blocking, and counter-looping.

Notes:

  • An uncut sheet weighs 55g, while a cut sheet (normal sized Stiga head) weighs 38g.
  • The review was conducted on a 7-ply OFF blade - Stiga Super Carbon WRB.
  • The reviewer’s playstyle is backhand dominant two-winged shakehand looper.

Amazing for my cpen backhand. It adds a lot of speed and spring to backhand flicks. Not too tacky, but very good at reverting spin and driving the ball over the net and on the table. It feels really easy to control. This is the best rubber I’ve tried for RPB. It uses more mechanical grip than tackiness, so be sure to get it in 1.9 or greater sponge thickness. Without the ball being able to sink into the rubber from sponge thickness, I couldn’t imagine this rubber being very good.

The Nittaku rubber is the best backhand rubber. It has a low throw angle, making it easy to control. It is also good for forehand play, but it is not suitable for everyone. It is recommended to use it on a 7-ply wood blade or carbon blade for the best results.

Weight: original (17x17 cm, maximum) 60g. Very good, very fast rubber.

Good backhand rubber for blocking and pushing, but not suitable for topspin due to its low throw angle.

My backhand setup rubber:

I really like this rubber.
Its low throw and lightness make it my backhand choice, especially when I’m using an off+ blade. It’s even a bit hard to counter a chopped spin ball because it will go flat and easily be struck into the net.

The rubber has a low weight, without sacrificing spin, speed, or durability. It makes it easier to execute wrist shots. A solid choice overall.

Best backhand rubber out there!!! Excellent control and easy to handle opponent’s spin. Speed and spin are good too. I finally found my permanent backhand rubber.

This rubber is highly recommended for backhand play.

Control: Excellent control, allowing for precise shot placement with ease. It effortlessly handles opponent spins, making blocking and lifting underspins a breeze.

Spin: The spin generation is moderate, slightly less than Adidas P7 and Rakza 7 Soft. While it produces decent spin, it does not excel in this category.

Speed: According to the product rating, it has a speed of 9. However, in my experience, it feels slightly slower compared to Adidas P7 (rated 8.9). Nonetheless, it provides good speed for effective gameplay.

Overall, this rubber offers a well-rounded performance, with exceptional control being its standout feature.

It is one of the best rubbers I’ve played with. I would like to stay with it on the forehand (FH) for longer. It has:

  • Good service spin
  • Very good control and blocking
  • A speed rating of 8/10
  • A low angle, so it is best suited for deadly top spin attacks and for smashing an opponent’s top spin.
  • Note that Butterfly rubbers have better speed but less durability, and are more expensive.

This is a universal rubber, suitable for players of all skill levels. It combines speed, spin, control, and feel to offer an excellent playing experience.

I highly recommend this rubber to everyone, from beginners to pros and top players. It’s a fantastic choice that will help you perform at your best.

One of the best rubbers I have ever used. With a simple wipe of the sponge with water, it seems to last forever. I have used every tenergy and tons of Chinese rubbers, and this is one of the best.

In fact, my biggest problem is always deciding whether to use it for my forehand or backhand because it’s so amazing.

Great rubber. I use it on the backhand of an Innerforce Al blade. Blocks and returns of serves are great with a lot of speed, but it also has wonderful control, especially when looping from a mid distance. Loops are very precise and go exactly where you want them to go. It’s a wonderful rubber, and I’m glad I found it!

I’m using this rubber for backhand. After using it for two days, I’m considering using it for forehand as well.

Block: 10/10
Push: 9/10
Speed: 9/10
Spin: 9/10
Smashes: 10/10
Chop: 9/10
Control: 8/10 - This is a very high rating.

This is fantastic rubber. I can say this after only a few hours of playing. I can’t wait to see what I’ll say after a couple of months when I’m used to it.

It’s good for close to the table as well as mid distances. Blocks are flawless, loops are precise, and smashes are devastating for my opponents. Serves are spiny enough.

This rubber offers great control and is effective in looping. It blocks well and makes the game much easier. However, it is not as powerful for smashing. I have been using it on my forehand with Tibhar Nianmor on my backhand, mounted on a Yasaka blade. It provides pure playing pleasure!

Fun rubber to play. Its speed is perfect for my backhand. It has amazing spin and wonderful “unmeasurable” control!
Quite pricy, but it’s definitely worth it.

I recently purchased a custom paddle from PaddlePalace with PRO B rubber on my backhand (BH) and Stiga FX on my forehand (FH).

PRO B is an amazing rubber. The consistency is unparalleled, while the speed and spin are exceptional. What really stands out to me is the amount of spin I can produce when looping from a defensive position. Overall, it’s a great rubber.

B4 on my TBS, it played like a rubber with nice control, good for blocking and not too spiny. With H3 Neo on my FH, it bounced too low and had equal spin. I think the hardness of H3 affected the touch or feeling of my BH rubber. You need to work a lot more with your wrist and arms to generate power and spin. TBS is a little slow for me with H3 Neo. Maybe that’s why Ma Long took off his rubber when losing the game.

So I changed everything. DHS H-WL with the same setup, and wow! On this blade, this rubber is perfect!

  • BLOCKING: With a low throw, it’s great.
  • 3RD BALL ATTACK: I don’t know, but it’s easy for me even if it’s an underspin as long as you’re in position.
  • LOOPING: Good and spinny, not like Tenergy Rainbow Ark, which is too high.
  • FAR FROM THE TABLE: You can trust this rubber. You can count on its sponge. It can do what you want.

My problem with this rubber is when I’m counter-hitting the blocks. With its low throw, I need to add some wrist to lift the ball. This is a very good rubber that lasts long. I’ve had it for less than a year. I treated it with natural oil before when I hated it. Now I’ve swapped my TBS to WL-King. I’m so in love with it and my setup. Don’t waste your blades or rubbers; try some setups.

I use RSM Platin Special to test the rubber. The rubber has good spin and the spin is in a medium-slow angle. The control is very good, especially in return of serve. The speed is medium. The durability is much better than most tensor rubbers.

The best backhand rubber ever! Blocks you can depend on like anti. Consistent and loops great from any distance. If you liked Alpha, you will love Beta. It doesn’t die when you back off the table and loop. Amazing control for return of serve. The reason Wang Liqin won the Qatar Open 2010 is his backhand against Long and Jike.
