Plays like inverted rubber on spinning strokes engaging the sponge. Excellent at punching with a notable wobble which disrupts opponents’ rhythm and they don’t like it. Requires a lot of practice to take advantage of, especially when coming from inverted rubber. Will recommend.
I am at an intermediate level and have used this on BH for one season (I am now trying medium pips). It is a really nice short pip for attacking with. Compared to other short pips I have tried, I would say medium spin, medium to high speed, and medium to high weight. I have used it in 2.0 and max. I prefer max for my game, it depends on what you are after.
Good speed and control.
I used this rubber for FH on a Nittaku Acoustic. I like this rubber.
Good for short pimple users.
Works well for me. More control than the Yasaka Rakza PO, and it creates a good knuckleball effect and some spin reversal. When used with a carbon blade, it generates a dangerous, fast, flat ball and very good counterattacks.
Mima Ito uses this for a good reason. It’s very easy to use. It’s fast and flexible in terms of what it can do. It doesn’t automatically apply reversal to the ball, but if you are skilled enough you can use it to that effect. It’s fast and dangerous.
I use it for my forehand. I greatly enjoy the feeling with the Viscaria racket.
Very comfortable and good control. At the same time, it has faster speed. Professional rubber.
Good backhand rubber for punching the ball.
Played with mid-long pips for 10 years. This one is very fast and unforgiving. Don’t think you can play it without training for at least 1-2 hours a day.
It is my most suitable BH rubber for all of my current blades in use.
Excellent rubber for offensive players, great for loops and smashes. The grip is fantastic and provides good control. Spin is also top-notch. I highly recommend this rubber for players looking to step up their game.
Excellent. All-around excellent.
As for me, to take full advantage of the rubber, it is necessary to be very fast and hit the ball at the right time. I tried a 2 mm sponge. I think it is easy to play with but does not forgive slowness.
The Acoustic Carbon base fits like a glove!
Special thanks to tabletennis11 for the great service! Good luck!
Good.
Estoy conforme con el producto, tiene todo lo que yo requería: rapidez, control y efectos.
I really recommend this rubber for those who want to improve their game close to the table.
Producto de muy buena calidad y entretenido para jugar, ya que permite realizar distintas variaciones en el partido, desde salir rozando la pelota, hasta cortar (versión esponja 1,8 en Butterfly Jun Mizutani).
Nice rubber, it is not too strange for the opponent, but has good speed and control.
I use a Nittaku Shake Defense, but I liked Waran more.
In the Max thickness, it’s fast.
Good rubber!
On BH side, it is good for shooting. Deception is absent. It is good for attacks and fast games. Control is satisfactory. On the table, you can chop but far from the table it is very fast to chop. Watch Mima Ito videos for a better understanding.
Thanks.
I use the thick rubber on my backhand. Good control. Produces good topspin against backspin. No difficulty in lifting a chop. Fast block attack against flat rubber attack. Can produce heavy chop in defense.
Very good control, good spin on backhanded loop, very good for punch, and a very good chop block.
Very good!
Maybe the best short pips.
Fast and good control. Spinny. You can do everything.
The thin sponge (1.5mm) was only good for all-out attack. It worked well for flatter counterattacks but had less control against heavy topspin. It provided good control but insufficient power against chop, and very poor control when chopping against a topspin attack.
The thick rubber (1.8mm) was very good all-around for attack, counterattack, against chop, and when chopping against topspin attacks. It also had good control against all types of pimples.
One issue is that it is often out of stock.
I haven’t tried too many different short pips, but Moristo seems to be an all-around good performer. It can spin like newer pips and still flat hit. I use it on the backhand so almost never serve with them. The control is excellent compared to Spinpips red or Spectol red; both are much faster and bouncier than Moristo.
One thing, Moristo is spin-sensitive, so if you are looking for pips to not have to read the spin, that won’t work with these. But compared to an inverted like Tenergy or Evolution series, receiving serve and handling incoming spin is still much easier.
Control of these short pips is excellent. The knuckle effect on a forehand smash is unbelievable. Doing the topspin is easy. Overall, it is a good rubber for an offensive player.
Plays alright but not quite up to par as a pimple-in rubber. Excellent for backhand punches with a little ball wobble that adds to the fun.
I was using Spinfire and decided to try this one because if Mima Ito uses it, it must be a good one. In terms of grip, it’s quite grippy and I could do kicker serves and other spinny serves, but I found that sometimes the ball died on the net. I had been using short pimples only for 2 months, so my technique was lackluster. I am sure that in good hands it’s a fast and dangerous weapon.
Great balanced rubber for playing offensive with short pips, can kill a decent amount of incoming spin when blocking, and can still create decent spin when attacking. Not super fast, not super slow. Excellent for the consistent short pips BH punching game like Mima Ito.
I play Classic Offensive style at mid distance and close to the table with a 5+2 outer ALC blade. I tried various short pips for my BH and found happiness with this one in 1.8mm, the max thickness was way too fast to control (tried it too). The max would be OK for a pro who trains 5 hours a day but in my opinion, not for a regular mortal such as me. The Moristo is ideal for aggressive top of the bounce slap and punch style BH shots. It is somewhat sensitive to spin but not much, so you can lift the ball up with topspin but it’s tricky, the rubber is best used on the top of the bounce. Short game took some time and adjustment, it’s tricky to keep the ball low. Passive blocks work really well, it is not erratic but it takes the spin away nicely so with some practice it becomes a real weapon. Long serve returns are a nightmare for opponents.
Good.
This rubber have a lot of spins and control. It also is very durable and long-lasting.
The only other short pip I tried is the Friendship 802-40. This one is much better, producing awkward balls on good blocks. It’s also very spinny.
Very fast pips, good quality all-around play, blocking, hitting, and receiving service. If you’re thinking of trying short pips, you must give these a go.
One of the short pips that has both a good effect and is especially versatile in over the table attacking play. Particularly effective when taking the ball very early over the table with power, without loss of control and when using stop and sidespin attacks. There are faster short pips but none with the versatility and range of the SP.
There is no need to say anything about this excellent rubber.
Great speedy rubber if I adjust my arm moving angle.
For someone wishing to emulate Mima Ito - enables fast backhand punches with minimal wrist movement. The weight after cutting to the standard Butterfly blade size of 157 x 150 is 34.5g, including glue. The punch needs to be repeated through practice; however, the short pimple punch is a technique. Great product quality from TT11.
A coach with whom I trained suggested that I use short pips on my RPB (reverse penhold backhand). The idea was to execute a quick 3rd ball attack using my backhand. Between Friendship and Nittaku, I chose this one partially due to it being on a weekly special.
It does have an adjustment period; backhand drills feel slightly different for my practice partner and to an extent, me. C-1 is my usual rubber for RPB and is a very solid looping machine. RPB looping is still possible with this SP, and flat-hitting is like rockets on my backhand. My practice partner is unable to return more than two of them at a time.
I am using this rubber at 2.0mm, but I feel 1.8-1.9mm would have been a better starting thickness.
Overall:
Is it useful? - YES
Is it worth it? - YES* (Look out for weekly special)
Will I keep it? - YES.
A fast pimple out rubber. Suitable for attacking game. It does not have a disruptive effect for the opponent.
Good product, price acceptable.
Goma porosa muy disruptiva, excelente para complicar el juego del oponente.
Well, what can you say; it’s as good as advertised in Mima Ito’s game. It is one of the spinniest short pips on the market. A bit sensitive to incoming spin too. So if you’re coming from inverted/normal rubber, there is a little adjustment for this one. The speed really comes in when you quick-push and punch the ball on your backhand. It’s Mima’s rubber after all.
I’m still having trouble using this rubber full time on my backhand since considerable speed is sacrificed on normal BH drives, and punching isn’t exactly a natural game style to get used to. But Moristo SP has a great service-receiving game that offers levels and options on how to return the balls.
Good attacking short pips. Easy to flick.
Excellent rubber! Good for blocking and smashing! Great control and speed sponge.
Nice to use.
I use this rubber at 2.0 mm on the backhand of my H301 blade. Counters are fast and crisp, while not particularly deceptive, they are certainly not as spinny as inverted rubber. Counters may be “punched” to give different balls to your opponent. Morisot SP blocks extremely well, and the blocks are less spinny and often go into the net. Pushes can be a little lively and have some spin, but certainly not the heavy underspin of inverted. Opponent pushes are easy to flick or roll. If they are a little high, they can be hit effectively. Serve can be a topspinner or pushed as desired. If pushed, it may take a little getting used to keeping the ball short and low to keep the opponent from attacking. The rubber is fast and spinny for pips and does react to opponents’ spin (serves, loops, etc.). Overall, this is an excellent short pips rubber for the attacking player. An experienced player should be able to adapt to it within a couple of sessions. I recommend it.
I’m not a pips player, just wanted to try it out. I have not played with it much. It’s a good rubber. Not sure if pips work for me. I’m still giving myself some more time with it. Jaa.
I’m not a pip player, but I have no problem playing with it. It is so fun to play with, and it takes very little time to adapt to/adjust to. It can generate a little spin, and this can help fool the opponent quite easily.
It is a very powerful rubber, perfect on my Clipper CR.
Fast and good control. This short pips rubber is very good for attacking.
I tried these short pips in 1.4 thickness on my BH, but you can also use them on the FH. The pips are interesting - you can generate spin, hit flat shots, and handle tricky serves. They are not too dangerous for your opponent, so they might not be suitable for everyone. These pips are used by the young Japanese star Mima Ito on her backhand, and she plays very successfully with them.
I used Donic short pips rubber when I first started playing pp when I was 65 years old; the reason was every senior player was using it. I just copied them. But, they have played for years, and I just started. Then my first coach asked me to use Tenergy 05 on both sides. Five years later, I tried short pips one more time, but I still did not like it. Then I started reading about Mima Ito’s equipment; she is using the Maristo SP for her bh, and she had a very successful year. Then He Zhuojia came out of nowhere and almost beat everyone at the ITTF Grand Final in Korea. She also used Moristo SP for her bp. I have been copying the Japanese women’s styles for two years now because I am small and old (over 70), and the JW styles fit me perfectly. I have used the new short pips for my backhand for only a few weeks, and I have beaten people that I have never beaten before. It is excellent for the bp; you have to hit the ball early, on the rise, and aim low. I aimed the ball at the white line of the net, and now I don’t push on my bh anymore. I can flip any short balls, tp, up, sp. For long balls, you just whack at it. The ball has no spin, and it is extremely hard for your opponents to hit it back. I love it. I am trying it on a new bat now.
Good control with spin.
TT11 is quick on shipping as always and is willing to accommodate special requests. Thumbs up for their services. This rubber is great for control, spin, drive, and flat smashes. Not good for producing spinny attacks as all short pips are like. If you want spin, go for smooth rubbers.
Отличные короткие шипы для современной игры. Легко поднимать подрезки топспином. Удар получается с не очень сильным вращением, но с приличной скоростью и неприятным для соперника. Очень легко играть блоками на столе. Подходит для многих оснований.
Strangely fast!
I liked it, ordered more.
Soft sponge and medium-hard pimples resulted in a very good combination. The rubber turned out to be controlled and easy to master.
Tibhar Evolution MX-P 50 Hard i Rasanter R50 отлично играют на BH.
This rubber seemed even better to me than the Butterfly FLARESTORM II rubber.
Good product and very fast delivery!
