I put a tacky protect-sheet on it, which made the rubber even tackier. I put it on after every practice and training session. I have done so with Magna TX2 and Renanos Hold. It works great if you want to add some tackiness to a non-tacky rubber. My 5-year-old Nittaku Renanos now has better spin than when it was new, I kid you not!

Speed is average.

This sponge is hard, and the topsheet is firm. The ball does not sink into the topsheet, which has little grip. The throw angle is medium-low, so this rubber is good for flat hits and not good for looping.

Also, for short underspin rallies, it is very hard to get any spin, and the opponent can easily attack these balls.

Response is linear.

Spin! Serves and loops, cuts, topspin. This rubber is all about spin, but it also has the necessary speed. It has an incredible long lifetime. Nittaku equals quality as always. It is an expensive rubber, but it is totally worth it.

Hello,

I am a beginner and have been playing table tennis for 2 years. I am not able to give technical notes, but I can say that the Renanos rubber is very good for spinning. I use it with a Xiom Solo blade and find my paddle to be very good.

Excellent all-round rubber. Fairly light [41g cut for 157/150 blade], but it has the substantial feel of a heavier rubber. It has the exact linear response I’ve been searching for and decent reserves of spin and speed when needed. I use it for backhand on an OSP Virtuoso Off, but I’m thinking of putting one on forehand as well.

A very spinney, fast rubber suitable for FH. Used by some top world-class players. If Darth Vader used a rubber, this would be it. Nasty spin, powerful speed. Great for looping at all distances. Touch for short game. Not for beginners as it reacts to incoming spin, so racket angle is crucial.

Use a rubber film to keep the tack on the topsheet. Use this on Viscaria, TBS, MJ, or all wood blades like VPS, Runlox, P700, P500 and you too can wield a wicked light saber.

Update: Pair this rubber with a sealed ALL+ or OFF- all wood blade for incredible spin, fast speed, and excellent control for your FH. Becomes a bit touchy on fast composite blades due to the added stiffness. Great Rubber and upgraded to a total score of 10.

Update: This rubber has high durability. After 2 years of play, spin and speed are good. Clean with water and sponge with periodic use of rubber regenerator. Always use a rubber film to retain the rubber properties. A great buy considering how long this rubber lasts.

What Frogger said. I’ll just add that I like its linearity - you get what you give with no unwanted catapult on short strokes that can often be the case with soft to medium tensors. I bought it in 1.8mm. Given the excellent control, I’ll probably get it in 2.0 if I replace it. It’s a bit pricey, but the quality is very good.

There are much better rubbers out there for the same price. It is not spinny enough for me, and I found a few control issues with some shots. It is not bad, but it is definitely not as spinny as others have mentioned. However, it does have a lot of speed reserve.

This rubber provides excellent control and generates incredible spin. It performs exceptionally well when serving.

Very spiny, and very fast when hit hard. It falls somewhere between Japanese and Chinese rubber in terms of behavior.

It is expensive, but the quality is there.

Pros: Spin, speed, and control

Cons: Price

I use the WRC, one-ply Cypress 9.0, on the forehand. I tried this several months ago and am returning to it as it played so easily. I have the P7 on my backhand.

Overall, this is an easy brushing rubber that creates excellent spin. It is not bouncy and has a grippy natural gum top sheet for control, blocking, and serving. It is also easy on the pocketbook.

Indeed, a great surprise. At first, I thought I was playing with an old T05. Then I thought, it feels like Sriver - is it really an old Nittaku? And it was. Still a spinning monster, though it WAS an old guy on the racket I tried out. Excellent feel, very good control. Medium-high throw, just comfortable for an attacking looping style (mine).

Tried some active backhand push-blocks, and it was decent, too. Did not miss a shot for minutes of play during the warm-up session I was using it. A very nice rubber.

This table tennis rubber offers spin similar to Chinese rubber, but with greater power. However, it is not as fast as tensor rubber. Brushing loops are very easy to execute with this rubber. Players who are accustomed to playing with Chinese rubber may find it beneficial to try this rubber.

Great rubber, much faster than 8.7; a true 9+ rubber. A nice surprise!

This rubber is great.
Excellent spin.
Good control for the short game, and plenty of power at mid-distance.
I can’t say enough good things about this rubber.
