The Xiom Omega IV Euro is a high-performance table tennis rubber designed for players seeking a combination of spin, control, and decent speed. With a remarkable spin rating of 100 and an overall performance score of 9.4, this rubber excels in generating spin while maintaining a responsive feel during play. It features a medium hardness sponge (approximately 42°) that enhances its ability to produce powerful loops and explosive shots, making it an excellent choice for aggressive attackers.
In terms of tackiness, the Omega IV Euro offers a moderate level (2.5), which means it’s not overly sticky but still capable of gripping the ball well for dynamic shots. This characteristic contributes to its stability against incoming spins, allowing players to effectively counter and block without excessive sensitivity. Weighing in at about 72 grams, this rubber is considered lightweight, facilitating quick movements and adjustments during intense rallies.
Durability is another notable aspect of the Omega IV Euro, with a durability rating of 7.6, indicating it holds up well over time, though some users have reported the sponge becoming less responsive after extended play. For those looking for alternatives, while the Tenergy series from Butterfly is often benchmarked against it, the Omega IV Euro provides a more affordable option with comparable performance, especially appealing to intermediate and advanced players who value control. Overall, this rubber has garnered favorable reviews for its exceptional feedback, consistency, and versatile play, making it an excellent addition to any allround attacker’s equipment.
A great soft rubber from Xiom. It has a lot of spin and is fast. Thanks to the service of Tabletennis11.
I have only one sheet of this rubber, and I have tried it on two different blades. It feels very good and controllable, just like Vega Europe, but it has a little more speed and a little more spin. This rubber is a newer iteration of the VE and has, I think, a livelier sponge but still excellent control. I intend to purchase this rubber again going forward. Very pleased!
Wanted to upgrade my backhand rubber from Joola Rhyzen Cmd to something that rewards a more active game. I use it as a backhand rubber with a 2mm sponge.
First of all, it looks very high quality and feels kind of soft, but the sponge is more medium-like. First impression: you have a nice feedback, good control, but also a catapult I noticed that was kind of new to me on the backhand side. Flips and topspin on backspin are very easy and consistent.
However, they tend to be long, so I needed to adjust my topspin to put more emphasis on the motion after I hit the ball. Topspins are very spinny when played soft and very fast when putting power into the stroke. Throwing angle is pretty high which makes it easier.
Blocks are very consistent but tend to go high when played passively so it’s important to do a forward motion instead of just holding the racket. Short game is kind of the weakness because of the catapult, I still need to get used to it. However, it’s not super sensitive to incoming spin, so receives are not overly challenging.
But overall the most fun backhand rubber I’ve used and it hopefully continues to push me to play more actively and offensively.
