Andro Treiber FO OFF/S

Blade description:

This blade is a fast, composite offensive weapon featuring an outer layer of Hinoki wood. Its construction provides a distinctive playing experience, balancing high-velocity performance with a unique, medium-hard feel. The Hinoki surface contributes to a relatively high throw angle during opening loops, allowing for effective spin generation and ball grip, even though the overall dwell time is shorter compared to purely wooden blades.

Performance Characteristics

  • Speed and Power: Designed for high-intensity attacking, the blade is characterized as a powerhouse with excellent flat-hitting speed and rapid ball trajectory. It is particularly effective for close-to-the-table looping and counter-attacking.
  • Control and Feel: While the blade is fast and punchy, it maintains enough control for precise ball placement and effective blocking. It is described as stiff but not overly hard, providing a direct response during rallies.
  • Balance and Handling: The weight distribution leans slightly toward the head, which enhances power. User feedback indicates that the handle size is relatively large, which may impact comfort depending on personal preference.

Technical Considerations

  • Construction: This is a composite blade utilizing a 5+2 construction.
  • Suitability: The blade is well-regarded by intermediate to professional players who require a high-speed, aggressive setup. It is noted for its ability to handle demanding offensive shots, though its lack of forgiveness compared to slower blades suggests it rewards players with well-developed technique.

Just a little slower than Mizutani SZLC, this blade is much easier to control and spin with, and offers a much better ball-hold feeling. With this blade, you have the feeling that you can outspin your opponent, a feat that not many blades can achieve (even a boosted D05). (Better than Mizutani SZLC) It is a high-throw blade! My BH right now is Bryce Highspeed (low throw). This is one of the best blades that I have tried (including SZLC, W968, Hinoki, etc.).

Comparison to Treiber Z:

* Faster when flat hitting * Shorter dwell time * Bigger handle * Slightly head-heavier

Despite these differences, the transition from Treiber Z is easy due to the similar overall feel.

Quite a fast blade. I love the way we can topspin with this. Speeds are good even when blocking. Effortless to play. I played with Xiom Omega 7 Tour i and Stiga DNA pro M. Superb response. Feeling is less, but I like it. Absolute powerhouse. Played for 3 days. So happy that I wanted to share my views right away.
