Review:

The Butterfly Timo Boll ALC is a popular blade among professional table tennis players. It is known for its excellent combination of speed and control. The blade is made from a combination of Kiri, Ayous, and Carbon, which gives it a good balance of power and touch.

The blade is slightly thicker than average, which gives it more stability but also makes it slightly heavier. The flared handle is comfortable to hold and provides a good grip.

Overall, the Butterfly Timo Boll ALC is a great blade for players who want a combination of speed and control. It is a good choice for both offensive and defensive players.

I already have two copies of this blade, one with a weight of 87 grams and one with 91 grams, but their characteristics are almost identical. I personally like to pair these blades with softer and medium-hard rubbers, as they provide me with the desired feel and rotation. I specifically use Joola Dynaryz ACC on the forehand and Joola Dynaryz CMD on the backhand.

I appreciate these blades for their soft feel when topspinning, but I have recently reached a level where I require a blade that is better suited for a short game and backhand flicks, which I find challenging with this blade. As a result, I am considering switching to a different and slightly faster blade, such as the Viscaria or Lin Gaoyuan ALC.

Overall, I recommend this blade to players who prefer a soft feel when topspinning and desire greater comfort in open rallies.

This blade is very good. It has a good balance of speed and control, and it is also very durable. The handle is comfortable to hold, and the blade is well-made. I would definitely recommend this blade to anyone who is looking for a good all-around blade.

However, there are a few minor issues with the blade. First, it is a bit heavy, which can make it difficult to maneuver quickly. Second, the blade is not very forgiving, which means that it can be difficult to control for beginners.

Overall, this is a good blade that is suitable for a wide range of players. It is a good choice for beginners who are looking for a durable and forgiving blade, and it is also a good choice for experienced players who are looking for a blade that offers a good balance of speed and control.

The blade produces a low-quality ball, making it a very poor choice for serious players. Its bouncy nature and lack of spin further hinder its performance.

Beznadziejna deska, leci z tego metr za stołem. Deska jest szybka, ale problem stanowi trajektoria lotu — jest wysoka i charakteryzuje się bardzo niską jakością piłeczki, tzn. nie ma super rotacji.

I don’t like the feeling of hard limba, and the price is too high. This is a very overrated blade.

This is the best blade I have ever used. I play with BLy Fire M1 FH and BLy Fire M2 BH. The control of the blade is perfect. The speed is enough for me; it is not as fast as Boll ALC, but this is perfect. With this blade, I am in the game for a long time and have the opportunity to finish every ball. My general rating for this blade is 10 points. I get real good feedback with this blade!

Low shot quality and easily get countered.

Works better with European playstyle but definitely not Asian.

Assalamualaikum. I have been using the Freitas ALC for six months. As a beginner, I was very surprised by the control it provided, especially when combined with FG1 on my forehand and ARV42 on my backhand. If you have good spin technique, this blade will make it difficult for your opponents to handle your shots.

In defensive situations, the blade’s basic blocking ability allows you to counter most balls easily and drive them to the desired location. Overall, this blade offers excellent value for its price, quality, and performance. I highly recommend giving it a try. Wassalamualaikum.

What an amazing blade! I played with Rasanter 47 on the forehand and Rasanter 42 on the backhand. The blade is not too fast but has perfect control. With R47, it’s nice to play topspin; I can do it really aggressively. R42 has a nice feeling and soft touch with the ball. I can recommend this blade.

When you’re not looking at the price, it’s not too fast, but for spin and control, it’s really, really good. The blade is very soft and uses tensor rubber or energy cell rubber. Don’t use Chinese rubber!

I suggest trying this blade.

After 7 months of use, I have found that this blade is not too fast. However, it offers excellent spin and control. The blade is very soft, and its characteristics are very similar to those of the Timo Boll ALC. I would recommend using tensor rubber rather than Chinese rubber with this blade.

The Butterfly blade stands out in the product line due to its exceptional consistency and dwell time. Its high-quality Limba-Limba layer and Arylate Carbon construction work in harmony to produce impressive performance. Regardless of the rubber used, this blade delivers exceptional results. However, it is not recommended for beginners and requires proper technique, including brushing movements and solid footwork. When handled correctly, the blade offers highly rewarding gameplay.

Its trajectory is medium, and it offers a high throw. The dwell time is remarkably long, comparable to the Timoo Boll ALC. Both the FL and ST handle designs are well-crafted. Personally, this blade surpasses other BTF blades like the ZJK ALC, Boll ALC, and Apolonia ZLC in terms of preference.

Despite its strengths, the blade has a few drawbacks. It is relatively heavy, exceeding 90 grams, and falls on the expensive side. Selecting the appropriate rubber is crucial to achieve an ideal racket weight.

Softer than any other Butterfly blade I have ever tried, even softer than the Primorac, this blade offers great vibration and flex. The feeling of the ball is exceptional, reminiscent of all-wood Stiga blades. This is the epitome of what a blade should feel like.

I equipped it with Hurricane 3 Neo on the forehand and Tenergy 80 on the backhand. The flex generates a catapult effect, aiding in the production of tremendous spin, comparable to the DHS Hurricane Long 5. It is a fantastic looping blade, both fast and highly controllable.

The flared handle is on the thick side, bordering on square. However, one can eventually adapt to it. This blade stands apart from the rest of the Butterfly family. With that said, I am confident that it is possible to find a Stiga blade that performs similarly for a significantly lower cost.

Great blade. It’s a bit slower, softer, and often lighter than Boll ALC. It’s an Off Blade with a great combination of speed and control.

#16 — April 2017

What an amazing blade! I played with Tenergy 05 on the forehand and Rakza 7 soft on the backhand. The blade is pretty fast but still has beautiful control. With Tenergy, it’s nice to play topspin. I can do it really aggressively, and I hit almost everything on the table. Rakza 7 has a nice feeling and a soft touch with the ball. I can create tons of spin with great speed. The active blocks are easy. I can recommend this blade.

If you’re not looking at the price, I suggest trying this blade.

So, this blade is the reincarnation of the famous M. Maze ALC blade, with a better or fresher design and a slight modification in the thickness of the veneers. This results in a finer touch, which makes the blade a bit softer. This is required because it gives more contact time with the “new” poly ball.

Not as aggressive as the original Maze blade due to the softer setup, even Marcos F. uses the old Maze blade. I used it with MX-P on both sides. To be honest, I was not impressed. I liked the Maze better. Have not tried with Tenergy 05.

I would not say that the speed is 9, because that is in the definitive OFF category. Maze was in the OFF-/OFF category, and this blade is softer and a tad slower for me. So, I would vote for 8.6, which is a nice OFF-.

The control of the blade is generally good. The softer feel and touch require a bit flatter/forward technique in looping than the M. Maze. Spin is decent due to the softer touch. Blocking and ball placement are also easy to adjust to.

For my taste, the old one (M. Maze ALC) was better. No professionals played with this blade during the ETTC, but they played with the M. Maze.

Lovely blade. It has a good feel. Yes, it’s probably the exact same as the Maze blade. However, it looks better in my opinion and the one I got plays great. Each blade is unique. Not all Maze blades play the same, just as I’m sure not all Freitas blades will play the same.

Muy liviana y con muchísimo control. Tiene buena velocidad a media distancia y excelente a corta distancia. No es para principiantes. Para jugar con long pips, va bien para el ataque. Toma muy buenos efectos en el servicio.
