Andro Nuzn 55

I have been using this rubber for the past 6 trainings on my Donic Xtreme (OFF-) blade. I tried the 2.0mm for BH and FH. This rubber is not tacky, but it is extremely grippy. It has some weight on it. The sponge is hard, but not extremely hard. The top sheet is bouncy and has very short contact time. When playing short pushes on the table, the rubber is very controlled because of its grippy nature. The ball stays low, and you don’t feel the speed. You can place the ball accurately. When you attack, this rubber turns from a puppy to a beast. It becomes explosive, fast, and lethal. It seems like it has only two gears: Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Nothing in between. I couldn’t adjust to this behavior on the FH. I have long strokes, and my placement with the Nuzn was bad. Flips were easy, but topspins suffered from low arc, short dwell time, and inconsistent placement. I guess a better technique is needed, or a different style of playing. On the BH, it is a completely different story. It is a dream of a rubber! Short play is very good. Flips are easy. Topspins are fast, spiny, and aggressive. Flat strokes are great. Blocks are good too. It seems that the rubber excels in shorter strokes with less arm power, especially if you have adequate technique. Serving is great, whether you want it short and gentle, or faster with some power. Rotation is very good. This rubber is fantastic for aggressive attacks on the table. It works well from mid distance too. I will keep this rubber for my BH; it suits my game perfectly. On the FH, I decided to change to Nuzn 50, which is similar in many ways, but is much more controlled and has more dwell time.

I switched to the Andro NUZN and immediately noticed the extra grip and precision. It offers excellent spin potential, strong speed, and still feels controlled during rallies. Great choice for offensive players who want confidence on both loops and counters.

So I have been playing with NUZN 55 (max) on my FH for nearly a year now. Before that, I used R53. I am using it on a ZJK ALC blade.

I think this is an excellent rubber if you have the proper technique and are advanced enough to activate the sponge. I feel that you can easily play both soft shots and hard, spinny shots with this rubber. It is all about how you activate the sponge. I also noticed that most of my topspins land near the white line, which is really great for my game.

I also like to play flat hits rather than counter-spins / over-spins close to the table, and once you get used to the rubber, this becomes very easy. I do not play much away from the table, but when I do, I can still counter the ball easily from the second or third position. You can feel the sponge absorbing the spin, and it also has quite a punch.

I believe it is worth its price tag. It is durable as well. I change my rubbers after every season (around four months), but I play at least 16 hours per week, so you could probably use it longer. Overall, it is a terrific rubber, but that being said, it is also an advanced rubber.

This rubber is awesome. It shines in the offensive topspin game like few I tested. And the funny thing is I hated it when glued for the first time, but this is because I glued it on the backhand of a Hinoki 1-ply blade. This is a big NO; the rubber shoots too much with poor control.

Okay, I was not ready to give up on the rubber and tried it on a more flexible blade, Yasaka Offensive 7 Power. This blade is thin, with thin carbon layers, a hard walnut outer veneer, and has a lot of control. It was pure luck, but this combination is probably the best I have ever done. I would use N55 as a BH rubber with Bluegrip C2 at the FH. But C2 proved too slow for my taste and I switched: N55 FH, C2 BH.

Then it became a new world. N55 is incredibly good when looping, and looping very hard. Its control in this situation is outstanding; the ball seems to land on the table no matter what you do. And as the blade also has a hard outer layer, with C2 on the other side, every blade hit is hard with some flex, making it so good to play with. Speed is easily provided by N55, and the balance between speed and control is the best I have experienced.

Opening topspins are also easy to execute, but counter-looping is the best feature of this rubber. I believe any inner ALC blade would be a good combination for it as well. I have no doubts about putting N55 in my Top 3 rubber list, alongside Tenergy 05 and Dignics 05.

Very good rubber. Tested on Amultart on FH, 2.1mm black, good for counter, spin, flick, smash, and blocks. Mid distance needs to engage power compared to T05 2.1. But control is better. Excellent underspin serve.

Currently using: DHS Ma Long 5 Andro Nuzn 55 Max Forehand DHS Gold Arc 8 Max Backhand

Before using the Nuzn 55, I used the Gold Arc 8 on my forehand. However, as I found out it lacked spin, I got myself a new sheet of this Andro rubber. I am a two-winged looper with good technique, and what I can say is that this rubber was the reason for my high level of success since the moment I got it. Best packaging so far. The rubber has an excellent European grip. If you execute the forehand loop right, you will fall in love with this rubber. The service spin is off the charts. The rubber is indeed hard, so mix it with softer blades. The 3rd or 5th ball attacks are basically a breeze, as is the looping of backspin. The speed is also really evident; I would put it just below Tenergy 05 and Tibhar MXP. Flat hits are also very easy; they give you that extra kick in. On the defensive strokes, it’s really good for forehand blocking, however, pushing requires perfect timing and stroke execution, otherwise the ball shoots off the table. The throw angle is similar to the DHS Hurricane Neo 3, as it depends on how much you grip the ball, but around medium high it is. Now, the worst thing is the durability. I play 2 sessions a week and the rubber died out after 3.5 months. For the price it is at, it is the only downside.

Used on a Viscaria, around USATT 2100 (though not currently active in tournaments). Most of my points come from 3rd or 5th counter-kills. Compared to D09c, the N55 makes accessing power much easier when timing and weight transfer are on point. It’s not as bouncy as T05 but more bouncy than D09c. At 80% effort, the ball quality is among the best I’ve experienced. The N55 is excellent for 3rd ball attacks—you can flip or counter even short serves with power and insane consistency, and against players rated under 1500, the point almost always ends right there. However, against higher-level opponents you have to be more careful. That said, well-timed counters still rarely come back. For backhand flicking, I could confidently go for more power and win points outright. The most amazing ability is how I can do different counters like a flat hit or with super spin, making it tough for even high-level players to adjust. Those gears! I loved the ability to manipulate sidespin and topspin without sacrificing much control—something I struggled with when using D09c, in which the arc was a bit harder to control when trying to put super sidespin or changing the amount of topspin. D09c does offer better control close to the table, especially during early timing with more grab. One weakness I noticed is looping against soft balls; it sometimes felt like the ball slipped unless I really engaged the topsheet. The N55 is great for users who use 3rd balls to get a ton of points but also don’t want to get out of position just in case the ball comes back. You can do anything with this rubber, so if you play bad it could be that your blade is not matching, and if not, then it’s probably your problem. Thibault Poret and Simon Gauzy are good examples of users.

Cut to 157/150 — 51.5 grams, very strong rubber, not as tacky then C55 from XIOM or Power Dragon 55.0 degree from Stiga. Excellent service from tt11. Thank you.

A little fast for a hybrid, but when you are used to it, it is good.

Full control, touch, and feel. This rubber has all the gears from any part of the table: short, mid, and long range. I’m playing with a Waldner Senso blade and looking forward to seeing how the rubbers perform with a carbon equivalent blade.

Very satisfied with the overall experience.

I got two pairs of these rubbers, both max sponge. One pair on the Viscaria, the other on Innerlayer ZLC. I used to play T05 with the Viscaria and wanted more control in the short game, which this rubber has provided—of course not compared to beginner rubbers. It is fast, I would say a little faster than 09c with a bit less control.

I ticked in “Slightly tacky”; perhaps this is a bit too generous. It is very grippy; when performing the “sticky test,” the ball does not stick to the rubber but lifts it a small amount.

The guys at the store said it should last longer than 09c. I have only played with it for 2 months, 3–4 times a week, and can see no trace of use except for where I have my thumb.

I don’t believe this rubber is really lacking in any department, but does everything quite well, more towards spin/speed than spin/control.

This is not what they call a beginner rubber.

Excellent rubber combined with Synteliac VCI.

I’m using this rubber as my FH with Joola JQH Ary 90, and all I can say is that whatever Andro claims, this rubber is even better than that. It has much more spin and speed and is a bit better than Dignics 09c. Top Indian players (a player who’s #220) struggle to return topspins from this rubber. It has speed, spin, control, and everything you wish for.

NUZN50 & NUZN55 ~ Tight rotation with sufficient distance, fused topsheet & sponge, and sufficient condensation

NUZN Series: High enough speed and tight spin. Nuzn’s sponge integrates with the topsheet to create a tangential rebound, increasing distance on ghost services and providing more power and distance on particularly hard shots.

DNA pro H: All-around with a good mix of sponge-centered normal rebound assist => Nuzn has a “moist” microadhesive topsheet for extra grip, sponge melts into tangential rebound, more energy efficient, so Nuzn50 has similar power to DNA pro H, Nuzn55 has more power.

Z52.5: The ultimate in tackiness, amazing grip and directional stability on low hits; lacks power on medium and high hits => Nuzn50 is a little inferior with small swings, but more flexible and better with forehand hard hits; Nuzn55 is superior in almost every way.

C55: A slightly sticky rubber that doesn’t have the gritty taste of the almost sticky Omega 7 China Ying, but has a spongier topsheet that allows for some very varied spins; great instant response, but less spongy on bigger, more powerful shots => Nuzn55 has a much more aggressive, masculine feel.

GeneXtion: Light rebound, fast reaction time, advantageous for hard smashes with fast hits regardless of opponent rotation; less spin.

Identity of the NUZN series: #1. A “new generation sponge” developed through statistical data (Spinsight technology) merges with the tangential rebound force of the topsheet without harming it at all, acting as a fused mass with no sense of a barrier between topsheet and sponge.

#2. The topsheet is very grippy compared to the C53 and MK pro, but the new generation sponge is integrated with the topsheet to maximize tangential rebound without energy loss.

#3. The sponge is naturally bouncy and lively, but thanks to the tuning based on statistical data processing using Spinsight technology, the movements of the topsheet and sponge are very well matched, with no unwanted discomfort from the topsheet.

Nuzn50: Forehand alternative to the Z52.5, not as heavy, big and powerful at impact with nice spin and bounce (DNA pro H’s speed plus spin).

Nuzn55: Tight spin with plenty of distance, plenty of power based on high energy efficiency that shows through in the spongelike taste, accuracy that puts a ball in the right zone, and a heavy stroke with solid spin.

Overcoming and merging innovations from several existing rubbers, best in ALC inner and outer blades (except hard/stiff), only drawbacks are weight and price.
