Good offensive rubber. It’s not as fast as the X1 Turbo or other high-speed rubbers, but it has very good spin and nice control that will make your topspin attacks confident and spinny.

Due to its lower speed than, for example, the X1 Turbo (I was using it, but the control was too low for me), you can easily attack from serves and other hard positions with high spin.

Using an offensive blade.

I have been using this rubber for a year in the 2.0 mm black version on backhand, paired with the Donic Epox Powerallround blade. I bought it for 30 euros.

This rubber has average speed (it is not slow but not fast enough for me), a low throw angle, and gives a significant amount of spin (more than its pair, the Donic Coppa X2). It has a very soft sponge and topsheet, which gives it a strange combination of characteristics.

In my opinion, this rubber is not good for smashing. Due to a slightly mushy feeling and long dwell time, the ball contact is sometimes too long and causes a misfeeling, which can lead to mistakes when hitting and looping. The topspin strokes on the table are executable, but away from the table, they are very difficult because of the low throw angle.

On the other hand, the backspin and flick strokes are very comfortable and controlled with this rubber, especially the flicks, which can make problems for opponents. The blocks are low and fast, uncomfortable for opponents, but need adjustment, otherwise, they will go into the net.

Serves are also good with this rubber, but need a higher throw-out from hand because of the soft sponge and topsheet.

Generally, this is an interesting rubber with some good and bad characteristics. Whether it will be good and suitable for someone depends on their playing style.

2013-06-26:

I recently purchased this rubber, intending to use it on my backhand. However, I couldn’t resist trying it with my forehand as well. It’s not an ideal forehand rubber because it’s difficult to loop with. However, if you connect with the loop, it generates significant spin. The ball trajectory is low, though.

I’ve primarily used it on my backhand, as intended. It’s a good backhand rubber, suitable for blocking and hard-hitting away from the table. It’s also effective for flipping. I’m satisfied with its performance as a backhand rubber.

2013-08-27 (update):

As others have mentioned, the throw is very low. That was a primary reason for my purchase. Occasionally, the ball falls into the net because of this, but I assume it’s something that can be adjusted to over time. The Coppa x3 also serves me well for backhand looping.

I received this rubber in red courtesy of Mr. Bill Yap of Hua Ching club of Cebu. Thank you, Bill! I glued the rubber to my 729 Bomb, which also has a 729 RITC rubber on the other side.

My first impression is that the throw is low, which fits my forehand stroke well. The rubber is very controllable, even with hard strokes. I can consistently place the ball on the table, even those that fall below the table level. Blocking is also a breeze. However, I think I should get the 2.0 for the backhand.

The downside is using this rubber for service. It does not generate the kind of spin I can get from the RITC.

I’d be interested to see how it performs with carbon blades, though. I have a feeling that the pairing with the cork-powered Bomb is about right.

Again, thank you to Bill Yap for my Donic Coppa X3. My gratitude also goes to his cousin, Handel Yap, who took the time to fine-tune my forehand and help me get used to this great rubber.

This rubber performs well on the forehand or backhand on faster and harder blades. It excels in all aspects of the game, performing very well for the close to the table game, and is also effective on serves. I used it as a backhand rubber and tried it on Galaxy N-9, T-8, T-11, and Stiga Tube Carbo. For those who prefer soft rubbers, “X-3” is a good option to consider. I’ve found that all DONIC rubbers are easy to adapt to and play with.

What a rubber! I think Desto F3 Bigslam has the softest topsheet of all Donic rubbers, but the topsheet of this rubber is as soft or even softer. I like it as much as I like Acuda S3. Although this rubber is not a spin-oriented rubber like Acuda, it does have decent spin.

Very good rubber for control with attack capability. Fast and spiny when struck hard, it offers good control for soft touches over-table.

The rubber is not very sensitive to opponents’ spin and blocks well. It can be used for both backhand (BH) and forehand (FH) strokes.

While the service may not be as spiny as Acuda, it is still adequate.

It’s the spiniest rubber I’ve got.

I use this rubber on both my backhand and forehand (Schlager Carbon). I find it very hard to get decent spin from this rubber. The spin on serves is very weak, but it is quite good on loops. Ultimately, it is better to use this rubber with softer blades, like the BTY SK7.

I replaced Tenergy 05-FX with this rubber because I was looking for something similar but less expensive. I have not looked back since. I feel this rubber is at least as good as 05-FX, if not better, due to its higher speed and improved control. If you are also seeking an alternative to the Tenergy series, look no further.

However, after spending more time playing with the rubber, I find it harder to generate spin with than other rubbers I’ve used, including T05-FX. I went back to FX after three months just to compare, and I find that FX suits my strokes better. As much as I wanted to like the X3 more, I ended up sticking with the FX.

I replaced Tenergry 05 with Coppa X3 on my forehand on BTY Timo Boll ALC. I experienced significantly improved control and sound. Moreover, my racket’s weight was reduced by half. Surprisingly, the Coppa X3 generated a high spin rate. It is an excellent choice for players who lack speed confidence with Tenergies.
