This is a very good blade with high speed and control. I am playing with Tenergy 05 MAX. It matches for all game types and gives a great sense.

This is the first time I have used a 7-ply blade, and I am pleasantly surprised by how it feels. The blade is very light and well-balanced, and it has a nice, slightly flexible feel to it. Great blade…switched from my Jonyer H after 20+ yrs with the new ball, and boy, my shots have that punch once again. Great touch close to the table and then explosive power with the “klick” sound for fast mid-distance looping. Smashes are powerful too. A great Allround Attacking blade for the modern game…its the Jonyer H of the modern game.

Forget Carbon…this blade gives you great touch for the short game, generates great spin (similar to my Jonyer H), explosive power mid-distance for looping, great blocking, and suited for the modern allround-attacking player. It is a quality blade…expensive but quality.

I like the thin FL handle…very similar to my older Jonyer H. Slightly head-heavy…but that is good as the pros always use head-heavy bats. Butterfly engineers got this blade right (I guess it started with the Innerforce ZLF technology). Lighter than most carbon blades, with exceptional control and spin, with explosive speed when needed…

10/10, no doubt! Just buy it and play! You won’t regret it!

One of the best and fastest blades available. The ZLF fiber imparts significant power to shots, resulting in high ball speed. While the fast speed can make control challenging, applying spin to the ball enhances both control and spin capabilities due to the blade’s high flexibility. Overall, an exceptional blade that ranks among the best I have used.

This blade is a topspin monster. After my first training session, my first impressions are the following (used with MX-P on FH and EL-P on BH): Tremendous speed and spin (both topspin and sidespin). When it comes to drives, it feels like an all-wood blade (the speed is considerably lower than when you hit a topspin). It has great control and feel. Good in short game, good in blocks, pretty much good in any aspect.

I wouldn’t recommend this as a first blade though. It is expensive, but if money is not an issue, it is totally worth it. The major factor against this blade (this combination, more precisely) is the fact that it is very heavy. Even though the blade has 85 grams, the rubbers are incredibly heavy. All in all, this blade is just FANTASTIC!

Update: The blade is still fantastic, but the rubbers are not really on my taste. MX-P is incredibly fast, hard to control, and VERY HEAVY, very sensitive to opposite effect. It behaves like a faster Tenergy 05, I think. The EL-P I might keep, I like it fine, but maybe if I change the setup, for the moment, I will change both. I’ll have to find a more suitable set of rubbers for this fantastic piece of Butterfly material.

In terms of blades, I think I found my perfect blade. I recommend this for everyone who wants to produce maximum spin and speed. Paired with suitable rubbers, this is one of the 7 wonders of table tennis blades. I would definitely NOT recommend this to a beginner; way too fast. I will come back with updates when I change the rubbers.

I love this blade. I would even say that it is one of my favourite blades. I used the Victas Koji Matsushita Offensive, which is a little heavy. Then I used the Butterfly Liu Shiwen, which is a lighter bat. I like to try new things.

This is a very good blade. It is easy to play with and very flexible. The blade is slightly adjustable if needed.

This year, the manufacturer released a straight handle version of the blade, which is slightly larger than the original flared version. Similar to the Innerforce series’ straight handle, this version has a wider connection between the handle and the blade, resulting in reduced vibration, a stiffer feel, and increased comfort for players with larger hands. I tested the flared version of the blade. It is a high-quality product with a polished finish and design. The small, Chinese-style handle was too small for me, even for my girlfriend. I tested the blade with Donic Bluefire JP01 on the forehand and JP03 on the backhand. The blade has a soft touch and a pleasant woody feel, but with minimal vibration. Its speed is rated as ALL+/OFF-, but the soft touch and slightly tacky JP sheets give it an ALL+ feel. The blade has a linear speed profile, and with its high dwell time, it offers excellent control. This blade is ideal for looping, but smashes are only effective close to the table, while midrange strokes are relatively weak. Looping is highly efficient, and the high dwell time allows for a wide range of topspin shots. Spinning up heavily chopped balls is effortless, and counterloops are solid. Dropshots and drop pounces are also exceptional, with excellent control and speed. Currently, my girlfriend is using this blade, and I’ve noticed a significant improvement in the stability of her loops. She has become more consistent in her play with this blade. Overall, this blade is highly recommended for looping and play close to the table. It is perfect for female players who prioritize counterhitting but also value looping, and it fits the ALL/OFF- strategy profile. The blade is a quality product, but the handle is on the small side, and it is slightly overpriced. Update: The blade also performs well with MX-P (forehand) and EL-P (backhand). However, this combination produces more vibration due to the difference in sponge hardness between the forehand and backhand rubbers. It is recommended to avoid using rubbers with a hardness difference greater than 4 degrees (European) to minimize vibration.

The proposed weight of the blade is 82g, while mine weighs 92g. This demonstrates the significant variation that can exist between blades. I have not tested my blade, but it is reportedly similar to the INFR ZLF.

Easy to play with lots of control, depending on the type of rubber used. Excellent for looping and smashing. After experimenting with different rubbers, I found the best combination for this blade to be T05 FH and T80 BH. It’s a perfect combination! Give it a try, and you won’t regret it.

I have tried TB ALC, ZJK ALC, TB ZLC, and now I want to try this blade.

My blade just arrived. It weighs 82 grams, while the manufacturer’s stated weight is 85 grams.

This blade is versatile and easy to play with, yet it can help players improve their game. The flexible ZLF layers provide a noticeable “click” sound when hitting the ball, which is especially noticeable at mid-distance.

I prefer playing a drop-shot and looping style of game, and this blade allows me to consistently land the ball where I want it, without it going off the table or into the net. I rate it a 9 out of 10 for this reason.

The blade is extremely light and flexible. I recommend using hard sponge rubbers with it to take advantage of its qualities. It comes with an FL handle, but I modified it using a polisher to make it straighter, resulting in a lighter blade and increased spin.

The combination of the Liu Shiwen blade, hard sponges, and polished handle is exceptional. Despite polishing the handle, its color remained unchanged.

This blade is very light, allowing for easy looping on both the forehand and backhand, even with heavy rubber like Tenergy. It excels in close-to-the-table looping due to its dwell time and woody feeling, which make trajectory adjustments effortless. Such control is difficult to achieve with carbon blades.

For smashing, its feel is excellent. When using this blade with TBW5, the vibration is noticeably less compared to W5. This indicates that the reacting force is transferred back to the ball, resulting in increased speed. While looping and driving from mid-distance remain powerful, performing these techniques far from the table requires slightly more effort than with a carbon blade. However, this is not a significant issue as most players aim to win points close to the table. Moreover, the ZL fiber inside makes it comparable to a carbon blade, providing more power than most wood blades.

The only drawback is its FL handle. Light blades are generally ideal for on-the-table techniques, but the FL handle limits wrist movement. For this blade, an ST handle would be preferable, but unfortunately, it is not available.

Overall, this blade is highly rated (10/10) because it accommodates various rubbers without weight concerns and addresses the limitations (lack of power and excessive vibration) commonly associated with light blades.

If your strategy involves attacking short serves and winning points close to the table, this blade is highly recommended.

For reference, using Tenergy05 on the forehand and Tenergy 80 on the backhand results in a total weight of only 181g, significantly enhancing control and swing speed.

The weight distribution is perfect, and the handle is very comfortable.

Feel: It feels somewhat wooden but also has that usual ZLF vibration. Dwell Time: I’m using harder sponged rubbers with spring sponges, so it was harder to detect the amount of dwell time. However, I did notice an unusual amount of control. Looping: I had no trouble looping aggressively from any distance; however, slower loops close to the table were somewhat difficult. Counter: Amazing. I countered even the fastest hits with speed and precision. Mid-distance: Still very comfortable; however, there really isn’t much need to back that far up with this blade. Block: Absolutely no complaints.

Great blade! I was looking for a blade with a lot of control but still powerful and capable of producing great spin. I think this one is the best till now.

I am testing it with different rubbers now to find the best for my game. This one is a little bit on the heavy side — 88 g, but there are a lot of 82-83 g which may be better because of the bigger head.

If you use heavy rubbers, it becomes head heavy…

Amazing blade!

I owned the Viscaria and the TB-ALC and was going to test both and sell the one I didn’t like. However, after trying the Liu Shiwen, I sold both the Viscaria and the TB-ALC!

The Liu Shiwen offers an incredible amount of spin due to its insane dwell time, far surpassing both the Viscaria and the TB-ALC. This translates into point-winning opening loops and accurate shots from mid-distance with ample arc, providing a generous margin for error.

Additionally, the blade excels in the short game compared to the other two, significantly improving consistency and gameplay in close encounters.

Speed-wise, at mid-distance, the blade is notably faster than the TB-ALC (with the same 86g weight) but slightly slower than the Viscaria (87g).

Overall, the Liu Shiwen blade provides exceptionally high spin, OFF speed from mid-distance, precise control, and a delightful woody feel with the consistency of a composite blade.

Note: This blade is essentially similar to the Innerforce ZLF, but with a slightly stiffer construction, increased speed, and a slightly larger handle.

Excellent blade. This blade is very fast and has great control with a soft feel for players who like speed without the feeling of carbon.

It is a very nice blade, a little faster than my Boll ZLF. It has a really nice model and handle. I would recommend it for loopers close to the table and fast hitters.

Excellent blade, highly similar to the Innerforce ZLF but with a larger handle (only available in FL) and attractive graphics.

Like the Boll ZLF, it lacks the typical carbon blade feel and retains a woody sensation. The sweet spot appears ample, and it offers some flex for enhanced distance play. Stability and consistency are its main strengths. Despite not being exceptionally fast, it provides more than enough speed unless you specialize in rapid hitting or blocking. Its behavior remains predictable. Overall, it’s a solid, OFF-fast looping blade that delivers a substantial woody feel.

Is it worth the investment? Not necessarily. BTY prices have inflated, and you may find comparable all-wood blades for half the cost. However, its high quality remains undeniable if budget is not a concern.
