All-wood
This great all-round all-wood blade is designed for loopers and blockers. It is less suitable for power shooting, as there are better choices available for that type of play. However, 7-ply wood blades are better for power shooting and blocking than looping. Despite its focus on looping, the quality of looping with this blade is comparable to the 5-ply Acoustic blade, which is very good.
It is unfortunate that Nittaku has discontinued production of this blade. The feel of this blade is reminiscent of the Jonyer H, offering great spin and control. This allows for the use of soft rubbers (30 and 55 degrees) without compromising performance.
Fast Blade, excellently built. Very suitable with Nittaku rubbers. I have one with Nittaku Fastarc G1 (FH) and Fastarc C1 (BH). There is some flex, which helps to increase spin while fast looping.
The Nittaku Ma Long Seven plays like a slightly more elastic and less stiff version of DHS Power G7 or Tibhar Samsonov Pro Black Edition. In other words, it is slightly less linear, providing higher speeds and throw angles on high-impact shots, yet low speed on touch shots. This makes it a good option for players who want a blade that is slightly faster than a classic 5-ply limba/ayous all-wood blade while maintaining high levels of blade elasticity.
The softer nature of the Ma Long Seven renders it more suitable for rubbers that are softer than the DHS Hurricane 8, such as Nittaku Fastarc G-1, Tibhar MX-P, or Xiom Omega V Tour. This blade is best suited for advanced players who want to upgrade from a classic 5-ply limba/ayous all-wood blade to something slightly faster while maintaining high levels of blade elasticity.
Lots of power and easy control.
I really like it.
Excellent defense and attack, high control!
Very good feeling. Nittaku Fastarc G1 (BH) and Hammond Z2 (FH) rubbers fit very well.
Very good feeling and power!
Very good quality and finish. Fast for an all-wood blade. Large handle fits well even for small hands. 158x152. Top ply seemingly is not Limba, could be Ayous, soft feeling.
It’s a control wood. I would rate it as something between Off- and Off.
Speed is not too fast, but you will struggle to finish points because the wood lacks the killer finish.
It is a good wood if you want to switch to a 7-ply wood from a 5-ply wood. Counters and blocks are very smooth.
Drive is OK but not that great in terms of rotation. It could be that this wood requires boosted rubbers.
Using Nittaku Fastarc G-1 on both sides gave me a soft and bouncy feeling. The handle fits my Asian hand very well. Please refer to the review on the Tabletennis11 blog by Patrick Hrdlicka at the link below. I think it is a good reference to learn about this blade. https://blog.tabletennis11.com/nittaku-ma-long-seven-review.
I have used this blade with Gewo Hype KR Pro 47.5 rubbers on both sides. It worked nicely with the rubbers. This blade is great for close distance. The touch is very nice. Being close to the table also means that you have to move a lot around the table. Since I am a mid-distance player, I found it not so easy to loop, as it requires too much energy to brush the ball. One additional thing, I hit the blade on the table from the edge and nearly 2 cm of the edge is dented (on the first training). So, it is actually a soft ply wood, and you need to be careful on day 1. Don’t hit your blade on the table or somewhere else, as it is very sensitive.
Очень хорошее основание, только жаль, что форма ручки не была анатомической.
