This is actually a very good forehand rubber for intermediate players. The sponge is around 47.5 degrees, which is somewhat too soft for my blade setup. As a result, I start to lose power at mid distance.

The package of the rubber says it all: it was designed for close to table attack. It is true that I was able to produce precise and lethal forehand shots at close distance with this rubber. However, overall I prefer Xiom Omega 5 Asia for its harder sponge and greater mid distance power.

Review of Xiom SIIPro Table Tennis Rubber

Manufacturer’s Claims:

  • Hard sponge
  • Close-mid distance from the table
  • Control, mixed, and aggressive strategies
  • Tour expertise (after Elite and Pro)
  • High-very high impact speed
  • VHigh-extreme spin (ball contact)
  • Extreme-VHigh precision

Personal Assessment:

I find Xiom’s claims to be accurate. Despite not being a Tour player, the feel of SIIPro is exceptional, comparable to a pro tour quality rubber. It offers an extensive range of gears and speed-spin combinations for close-mid distance players. Its remarkable control, automaticity, and versatility provide a premium playing experience at an affordable price. I paired it with a Yasaka Extra Allround blade and felt fortunate.

I also explored the rubber on the forehand wing, where it excelled. It is undoubtedly a FH rubber, highly recommended with an overall score of 11/10. Among the best rubbers I’ve used (at max. thickness), it ranks first before Acuda Blue P2 (2.0mm), JOOLA Maxxx-P, and Tibhar Evo MX-S.

Technical Analysis:

SIIPro is manufactured by ESN using the same sponge-topsheet dynamics as Andro Rasant (TENSOR® & BIOS®). However, Xiom’s sponge is significantly harder and exhibits greater dynamism than the iconic green sponge of Rasant. This is a pleasant surprise for users familiar with Rasant rubbers, known for their versatility and spin. While Xiom’s carbo sponge outperforms the green sponge in close-mid distance play, Rasant rubbers excel at long distance thanks to their softer, bouncier sponges.

To create a decent heavy loop or top spin, the ball should dig deep enough into the top sheet and penetrate adequately to interact with its black carbon sponge. Take note, it’s a heavy rubber but overall a very good rubber from Xiom.

Play in 2mm sponge on forehand. The rubber is reasonably fast but controllable due to the great spin it generates. It is slower and produces more spin than the first Sigma rubber. The Sigma series is the best in the Xiom range in my opinion.

It’s really good!
Hi spin with strong topspins and drives with spiny serves and good control!
It’s the best I have played with Tenergy 80 and 05 (my backhand rubber is 80) but Sigma is really the best and only!.

Very heavy rubber offers good spin and speed, although it compromises control. Well-suited for attackers who prioritize power over precision, this rubber may not be ideal for defensive players. A notable feature of this rubber is that it enables users to generate spin with minimal effort.

This rubber is suitable for both forehand and backhand play.

I’ve used Vega Pro on my FH for years, and gave this a try. It’s much faster, and has a noticeably harder sponge. It reminded me a lot of Omega IV Pro.

Personally, I really didn’t like this rubber as I felt like I had to make perfect contact or I’d miss. Oddly enough, I was putting a lot of my loops and blocks in the net rather than missing long. It was difficult to engage and compress the sponge, so the overall feel was really unpredictable for me.

This is my dream forehand rubber!
After one layer of tuning, this rubber behaves like normal rubber and has better control than any other rubber I know in this speed range.
Buy it and you will not be disappointed!

A very fast rubber for the offensive player. To retain some control, match it with a medium-hard or off blade.

It is a bit heavy, causing an unbalanced feel. To counter this, I had to use a light rubber on the BH. This rubber is well-suited for the offensive player who attacks on the third ball.

Personally, I like this better than Ten 05 on my 4H.

Got me a pair of this. It is a very uncontrollable rubber, with not so much spin as mentioned in the reviews. I can think of many players who would like this, but not me.

If you are playing with Xiom Sigma II Pro, stop and listen!

This is not a rubber you play with. It is a rubber you engage in conversation with. The dialogue starts as you grip your blade, and the Sigma II Pro awakens with the greeting, “Hi, what are we going to do today?”

Other rubbers may boast superior speed, spin, or control, but they lack the quintessential element that defines the Xiom Sigma II Pro: a soul.

The synergy between the topsheet and sponge in this rubber is unmatched. It communes with me, relaying vital information about the incoming ball and soliciting my preferences for its execution. It then fulfills my commands with remarkable precision.

Xiom Sigma II Pro embodies the first and only rubber with built-in artificial intelligence and a sixth sense. While it remains largely impervious to incoming spin, it possesses the inherent capacity to generate an abundance of its own. The rubber exhibits remarkable versatility, adapting effortlessly to various playing styles.

As proclaimed by Xiom, it truly possesses a winning trajectory. I favor its use on my forehand with maximum thickness, where looping becomes an unmitigated delight. Envision any shot within the realm of table tennis, and the Sigma II Pro will execute it with unwavering poise and precision.

Indisputably, the Xiom Sigma II Pro stands as the most playable rubber in existence, embodying the essence of victory with every stroke.

Awesome rubbers.

I’m a shakehand player using a Stiga NCT Allround Wood blade with Sigma 2 Pro Red on the forehand and Sigma 2 Euro on the backside. This combination offers me a perfect blend of attack and control. I can execute attacks, counterattacks from the back of the room, and control the game at the table and mid-table. I can honestly say that this combination is perfect for all-around play. It excels in both defending and attacking, making it suitable for any style you prefer.

I am very impressed with the latest set from Xiom. I have used Xiom products for the past two years and highly recommend them as a viable alternative to the Butterfly Tenergy range. They provide an alternative without compromising on quality.

If you prefer fast play with less control, consider pairing these rubbers with the Xiom Stradivarius. I’ve also tried this combination, and it’s incredibly fast.

Along with the Sigma II Europe, this is the Don Perrignon of rubbers! A class by itself, Nirvana…!

This is the best rubber that I have ever used. It is very tacky and has a lot of spin. It is also very durable and has lasted me for a long time. I would definitely recommend this rubber to anyone who is looking for a high-quality rubber that will help them improve their game.

Overall, I am very happy with this rubber and would definitely recommend it to others. It is a great value for the price and has helped me to improve my game significantly.
