The best Butterfly ALC blade for me. Very good control with nice speed. The feeling is insane. If you are searching for a softer Butterfly blade, you should try this one.

Better than the Timo Boll ALC. The softer limba outer wood increases its control and feel. It has slightly more vibration and is a tad slower than the Timo Boll ALC, but the control and feel are superb. It’s much better than the TB ALC.

The blade is simple yet powerful in smashing. It provides easy control over the ball, making it an ideal choice for players who want to unleash powerful smashes while maintaining precise ball placement. The blade’s compatibility with Tenergy Series rubbers further enhances its performance, allowing players to maximize their potential. Minor adjustments to the phrasing have been made to improve clarity and readability, ensuring that the description effectively conveys the blade’s features and capabilities.

Little slower than Spirit, much better control than Spirit.

Very good blade.

This is the first composite blade I really appreciate. It provides a more forgiving experience compared to TBS, resulting in a softer feel upon contact. Despite its fast speed, it offers a more direct throw angle. The outstanding FL grip enhances the overall experience.

The limba outer ply adds a sense of security while maintaining high speed. It pairs exceptionally well with rubbers such as H3 Prov, Mark V Max, and T64FX 2.1. Compared to TBS with its koto outer plys, I found this blade significantly more enjoyable.

Its enhanced ball feel makes it suitable for players who employ a wide range of shots. In my opinion, it deserves a solid 10 out of 10.

Well built blade, you can confidently play with this one, it won’t let you down.

Comparing with TBS, TB-ALC, and Maze, the blade is slightly slower on the same weight band, but better for driving and smashing. However, it is slightly weaker for looping.

It’s about compromise, you can’t have everything in life.

Great blade! It has speed and very much control. I like playing with this.

Great blade! Very controllable and fast simultaneously. This blade is very good for non-top players, but it allows fast spins even if your technique is not perfect. It’s a great offensive blade and I loved it!

This is an excellent blade for looping and blocking. I use Tenergy 05 2.1 on the forehand and Tenergy 64 2.1 on the backhand, which I believe is an ideal setup. This blade is very easy to control and allows for precise ball placement when needed.

It is an extremely well-made blade. Although it is expensive, it is worth the investment.

I just bought a blade now that I have a place to play actual matches rather than in my archery range with my son. It’s a great blade, a bit faster than the TB Spark or Andro Titanium All+ I was using, and the control is about the same. This is an extremely well-made blade – one would hope so, given the price.

Most comfortable flared handle I have ever played with. I never liked it much for forehand play, but I loved it for backhand play. Maybe it was just the rubber selection. In either case, I still prefer the feel of the TBS and TB ALC over it.

Excellent blade, dwelling very good speed and control. When you hit hard, you get good flex from the blade which is noticeable by extra curve and spin. The throw angle is great for close to table, but away from the table, a harder stroke is required, which kicks in the carbon and gets a higher throw angle. Good functional properties in the blade. I am using Stiga TX. It’s working good as anything. Overall fantastic blade for variable attacker.

I played with Timo ALC for 1 year. Then, I tested Maze for 3 weeks and now I think it has better control than ALC. However, it is 4.5 gr more than ALC. I will choose Maze for this year.

All in all, I’d have to say I really love this blade! It’s a great option for players of all skill levels, and it’s sure to help you take your game to the next level.

If you’re looking for a blade that will give you a lot of control and power, then this is the one for you. It’s also very durable, so you can be sure that it will last you for many years to come.

Overall, I’m extremely satisfied with this blade. I would definitely recommend it to anyone who’s looking for a high-quality table tennis blade that will help them improve their game.

The Michael Maze blade strikes a good balance between speed and control. As a loopers blade, it excels in generating spin and power. However, the handle is somewhat thin, which may not suit all players. The blade can be paired with a wide range of rubbers, allowing players to customize it to their preferred style of play. Overall, the Michael Maze offers great value for its price point, making it a solid choice for players seeking a versatile and affordable blade.

After playing other Butterfly blades, such as the BS, Boll-ALC, Boll-ZLC, and Mizutani-ZLC, I’ve come to the conclusion that the Maze off is the best combination of speed, spin, and control.

When paired with T-05-FX on both the forehand and backhand, it provides the best combination for offensive looping at various distances.

I think this is one of the blades that I liked the most. Its consistency is very good, it gives you a nice feel, and good speed. It is for hitters that like to combine it with hard rubbers. Good for mid-distances, but it also allows you to play powerful topspins near the table and looping easily. It took me about half an hour to play comfortably with it, but it also depends on what blade you use. If you played with carbon, you will find it a bit slow, and if you play with arylate, a bit fast, but it has a good overall feel. I played it with two Tenergy 05 2.1 sponges, and I liked the feel very much.

#20 — September 2010

The Maze ALC blade creates a powerful setup when paired with tensor rubber. The Arylate Carbon plies in the wood enhance the blade’s stiffness, resulting in a high ball rebound upon contact with its surface. This feature enables powerful forehand and backhand drives. Despite its stiffness, the blade feels remarkably lightweight.

I bought this blade over a year ago, and I’ve been very pleased with it. Nice work, Butterfly! It has a great mix of speed and control, making it an all-around/offensive blade. However, it is slightly expensive, so you may need to adjust your budget accordingly.

#22 — October 2009

Michael Maze blade offers high control, making it suitable for offensive players. The blade performs exceptionally well with Tenergy for looping and provides outstanding hitting capabilities.

It boasts a speedy performance, although not the fastest in the market.

In comparison to the TBS blade, both share similar control and speed. However, the TBS exhibits slightly more flexibility and feels softer, making it more suitable for looping while compromising hitting accuracy. These differences are relatively minor.

#23 — June 2009

Played with many other blades, but the one I keep coming back to is the Michael Maze. It has the best combination of feel, control, and speed. I love the handle on it. It fits my grip perfectly. I enjoy the pop and crisp feel of carbon, but also the soft and controlled feel of Arylate. Awesome blade altogether for the all-around attacker.

#24 — February 2009

Very similar to the Timo Boll Spirit, the blade is slightly faster and more direct. I found it slightly better for hitting but not as nice for looping. These are, however, very slight differences.

The composite carbon results in a bit of a “numb” feel without much feedback, but the all-round attacking potential outweighs this.

Expensive but very well made, with a quality feel.

#25 — March 2008

It’s hard to go wrong with this blade. A great mix of speed and control, it’s a versatile choice that will suit a wide range of players.

#26 — March 2008

Amazing blade!

I tried out a few others before finding this one. It has great speed but not too fast, and excellent control. No wonder this is becoming a legendary blade!

#27 — Long Time Ago...

I paired this excellent blade with 05 fx and DNA M. I have no more wishes for this blade. I feel most complete when I’m using this combination. For me, it’s the best blade Butterfly has ever made. 93gr ST handle blade.
