I have been using Factive on a Primorac blade for about six months, both on my forehand and backhand. I am an advanced beginner/intermediate offensive player in a club. I found that the rubber offers a great balance between spin, speed, and control for my level of play. However, when I used it on a Tibhar Stratus Powerwood blade, it felt a bit too fast for me. Overall, I think it plays similarly to Butterfly Rozena but is a much cheaper alternative.

This value rubber from Nittaku can be played on both the forehand and backhand. At only €29, it offers an outstanding performance-to-value ratio.

It is a unique rubber with its own distinct characteristics, making it difficult to compare to other options. While it may not excel in any particular area, it performs consistently well across all aspects of the game.

It is like a tamed version of fast arc C1 by 10%. It does everything well. It has a very nice feel. It has decent speed but is not a speed monster. Spin insensitive, nice for blocking. It is also a light rubber and durable for its weight. And cheap, I got it for 17 euro on tt11 on sale. Everything is nice about this rubber except it doesn’t have that speed glue sound to provide you feedback.
Regards…

I tried this after D05, and all I can say is that this is the perfect backhand rubber for close to table style. It lacks power for a 2-3m distance game, but the feeling is awesome.
No more Dignics and Tenergies for me!

Very good for the BH.

#6September 2020

As others have mentioned, this is a backhand rubber. It is currently ranked 6th in the list of Most Purchased Rubbers in Asia for the month of May 2020.

Thickness: 2.0 mm

This rubber features a soft sponge, but it is heavier than rubbers with a thickness of 2.1 mm.

Initial Impressions

Initially, I employed this rubber for my backhand (BH), but I realized that I required more topspin for that shot. Since this rubber provided insufficient spin, I switched to using it for my forehand (FH), as my FH technique allows me to generate topspin more readily.

Characteristics

The rubber excels in speed and controllability. It enables me to place the ball accurately. Additionally, it performs well for pushing and is suitable for gameplay away from the table.

Suitability

This rubber is a good choice for individuals who are new to table tennis. However, if you prioritize generating exceptional topspin, Mark V rubber might be a better and more cost-effective option.

This is an extremely good backhand rubber, providing an optimal amount of spin for backhand looping or performing deep cuts.

I like this rubber a lot.
My forehand is my weaker side, and I use my backhand to attack a lot more.
This rubber works well on my forehand. I focus on placement and spin with it on forehand. When done properly, this rubber has enough speed to win points. Think Samsonov (placement).

I use Bluestorm Z1 on backhand.

Backhand Rubber a la Carte

This review will provide an overview of table tennis rubbers designed specifically for the backhand. These rubbers offer a wide range of characteristics to suit different playing styles. Whether you prefer a fast and spinny rubber or a slow and controlled one, there is a backhand rubber that will meet your needs.

When choosing a backhand rubber, there are several factors to consider. The first is the thickness of the sponge. The thicker the sponge, the faster the rubber will be. However, a thicker sponge also reduces control. The second factor to consider is the hardness of the sponge. A harder sponge will produce more spin but less speed, while a softer sponge will provide more speed but less spin.

Finally, you need to consider the type of surface the rubber is designed for. There are rubbers designed for both indoor and outdoor play. Indoor rubbers are typically made with a softer sponge that provides more control. Outdoor rubbers are made with a harder sponge that can withstand the elements.

Once you have considered these factors, you can start to narrow down your choices. The following are some of the most popular backhand rubbers on the market:

  • Butterfly Tenergy 05: This is a fast and spinny rubber that is well-suited for aggressive players.
  • Nittaku Fastarc G-1: This is a slightly slower and more controlled rubber that is a good choice for all-around players.
  • Xiom Vega Pro: This is a very fast and spinny rubber that is designed for power hitters.
  • TSP Ventus Basic: This is a slow and controlled rubber that is ideal for beginners and recreational players.

No matter what your playing style, there is a backhand rubber that will help you improve your game. So take some time to consider the factors discussed above and start shopping for the perfect rubber for you.

Amazing rubber for backhand. This is the perfect rubber for a block and control player. It generates plenty of spins. However, it needs more power if you want to perform a backhand topspin to cross the ball due to the softer sponge. Nonetheless, it is a great rubber for backhand and forehand for beginner and intermediate players who seek control and spin with Japanese topsheet and sponge.

Backhand Rubber Review

After six months of using this rubber on my backhand, I can confidently declare it to be the most controllable option I have ever encountered for all-round and offensive play. It excels in all aspects - backspin, topspin, and blocking. Additionally, it is relatively insensitive to incoming spin.

The only minor drawback is a slight lack of power when playing away from the table.

Forehand Impressions

When experimenting with this rubber on my forehand, I was particularly impressed by its ability to neutralize incoming topspin. It also enabled me to execute powerful topspins from virtually any angle. The rubber’s unique grip and feel noticeably alter its performance characteristics.

The ideal rubber for the backhand side of the shakehand grip. It is mostly suited for players who prefer brushing the ball rather than hitting it hard. Its consistency in blocking and looping backspin is amazing, making your game more comfortable. Contrary to the manufacturer’s description, it is not a hard rubber (45 degrees).

Jack of all trades… lightweight and it provides spin and speed with control… perfect for kids.

#15March 2025

I bought this rubber for a friend who had used it on one side of his bat and valued its consistency and reliability. I fitted them to both sides of his bat and he is delighted with their performance.

I think the Nittaku Factive is one of the top 5 rubbers for beginners or slightly advanced players. You can play everything (without performance peaks like other rubbers), block well on the BH. Very good price/performance ratio.

#18October 2024

Very good rubber. I use it as a backhand, I am in the transition from beginner to intermediate and I feel very comfortable with this rubber.

#19April 2024

In fact, the reviews for this rubber are very few. Despite that, I ventured with this rubber, and it has not disappointed me. It is very fast and very good. For the price, it is very good and I am happy with this rubber. Thank you, Table Tennis 11.

#20November 2023

The rubbers are lightweight for kids and last longer than other rubbers in the same price range.

#21November 2023

Good rubber for the backhand. Good quality, medium hardness with a medium throw angle. Very balanced rubber.

#22October 2023

Control and quality are the main advantages. It may not be as fast as more expensive rubbers, but it will suit those who appreciate control.

#23September 2023

What is very prominent about this rubber is its spin. I’m not sure if it was a good choice for me as a beginner. I still struggle to get used to it on my FH.

#24June 2023

Best price-quality for players of all levels, on fast blades.

#25November 2022

Your typical “jack of all trades, master of none” rubber at an affordable price.

#26June 2022

Bought this rubber after reading reviews that rated it highly as an ideal jack of all trades with an emphasis on control. It is slightly faster than my alternative rubber, but still suitable for my blocking and chopping game, and the ball goes (mainly) where I intend.

#27February 2022

Not that spinny, but excellent in control. Medium-hard rubber. I liked it more for my forehand as it has lower throw and less spin sensitivity.

#28March 2021

My friend asked me to buy it for him.

#29February 2021

Very high quality, does everything well, nice spin, decent speed, spin-insensitive, great feel, seems durable. But 4 stars, not 5, because there is no speed glue sound, which I like to hear. If this doesn’t bother you, you won’t regret it if you buy this rubber. Regards, D.

Review text:

Very well-rounded OFF- rubber. Really reminded me of Mark V, but very slightly tensored. Quality is very good - promising to be durable. Topsheet is of high quality and resistant to scratching and light contacts with the table (again, like Mark V). The sponge is dense with small pores - low risk of “moonscape” when peeling off old glue (consider using a minimum of 2 layers on the sponge). Sponge hardness is on the medium-soft side - so if you have a good swing, 2.1 thickness will be good, thinner can bottom out on a hard hit.
Overall - reliable OFF- rubber with high tolerance.

#31September 2020

If the weight of the racket bothers you, try this! It might lose out slightly in speed/rotation too, say, G-1, the ‘saving’ in weight is significant. It’s safe, fast, and spinny enough to score outright winners with precision. A great choice for those in search of lighter weight.

#32July 2020

This I use as a backhand as recommended by many on TT-sites. I like it more and more. Good for blocking. Spin also ok. Takes a while to get used to, but very, very good quality as always from Nittaku.

Speed: 9.2
Spin: 9.2
Rating: 9.1.

#33January 2020

Excellent rubber for BH. Red 1.8 on Xiom Extreme S, on FH - Donic Baracuda 2.0. It resembles Xiom Vega Euro in structure and feel, but without annoying catapult and a little bit harder. Not fast, without bottom out effect, faster than classic rubbers and slower than tensors, light for 45 sponge. Good feel, very stable and understandable in the game, soft topsheet. Spin medium, but not very sensitive to incoming spin, excellent in receiving serves, block, drive. For my game on BH high spin rubber with sensitivity to spin like Baracuda is not needed. Nittaku Factive is better than Musa, Vega Intro, Palio AK47 yellow and others. I have been looking for this for a long time. Great job Nittaku!

#34December 2019

Good control rubber. Works for all-around play, backhand, and chopping. Very linear and predictable. Not fast enough for pure attacking with the forehand.

#35June 2019

Отлично встала на Людик на БХ. Зацеп, скорость, контроль - все устраивает.

#36March 2019

Excelente caucho, buenos giros y ataques planos poderosos.

#37July 2017

Easy to control. Best buy!
