A further favourite blade for me. I guess this blade is underrated here or works only with a few rubbers. Paired with Fastarc G-1, I’ve had fun now and played with this package this season. In the first round, I’ve had an 18:2 result in our league. I lost 2 games with the new blade or rubber test. It worked best in topspin, blocking, smashing, and chopping and overall in controlled OFF games. I bought this blade one year ago during a sale action for very little money. I was surprised that this system worked so well with the plastic ball. I tested this blade already some years ago but was not happy with its average play behaviour. The next improvement on FH is using Aurus Prime. It is not so sensitive for incoming spin as Fastarc, where I made many chopping faults.

One of the best cheaper price penholder blades I’ve ever used!

One of Donic’s most sold blades, this all-wood legend is a reliable choice that consistently delivers. With excellent balance and speed that can be adjusted as needed, it’s a versatile blade that accommodates a wide range of playing styles.

I’ve experimented with various rubbers on this blade. While it performs well with both hard and soft rubbers, my favorite combination is Nittaku FastArc G-1 paired with Andro Rasanter R47. This setup provides a fantastic balance of speed, spin, and control, making it a top-notch option for players seeking exceptional performance.

The price point is another attractive feature of this blade. It offers a great value for the quality and performance it delivers.

I am an all-wood fan. For me, PPW is an outstanding blade for close and mid-distance. It is not too hard, so it helps me to feel my strokes. This blade is very good for training and competition. It has good speed and a great feeling.

What Seguso said:

This blade is very balanced in all aspects, with no weaknesses. It has superb control, and its price-to-performance ratio is beyond excellent. This is my favorite blade for 40+.

Note: When new, it is faster, harder, and most noticeably stiffer. I assume this is mostly due to moisture. I tried putting it into water for 20 seconds, and it immediately became softer and more dwell time. I prefer well-played-in ones, mainly due to higher throw.

Update, Jan 19: I found out one can modify the amount of flex with this blade. Since the handle is quite long, you can grip it near the blade face for high stiffness (good for close table block, hit, and counter) or near the end for more flex (good for touch, close table loop extra spin, higher throw, and far distance extra power). Mastering this attribute will make your game even better, as the differences can be clearly felt due to the blade’s excellent feedback.

This blade is so magnificent that I can say with confidence I do not have to try a new blade in the foreseeable future. (I have tried 20 blades over the last 3 years, so try to picture how darn good this blade is!).

The blade used by Jorgen Persson in his 1991 world title win embodies the old school of table tennis.

Construction-wise, the blade has a slightly rough handle and a surface that requires sealing to prevent splintering upon rubber removal.

Performance-wise, the blade stands out as the best 7-ply blade tested among Stiga Clipper, Avalox P700, DHS Power G7, and Xiom Extrem S. It offers a well-balanced feel and superior ball control due to its thinner top ply and overall thickness of 5.9mm. Despite its smaller head size (156x150mm) and longer handle (102mm), it provides ample speed for offensive players and comes in at a budget-friendly price.

Good speed and good control. Very nice blade. I see no reason to change to anything else.

The perfect blade for offensive players is a hard, flexible, fast, and high throw blade.

The flexibility gives it a high arc in loops, while the hardness increases speed in loops and results in a low throw in blocks. The blade’s speed falls between OFF and OFF+.

Comparable to a 5-ply in terms of flexibility, this blade provides stability even at maximum power, eliminating the issue of power loops going too high and long.

Blocking is exceptional with this blade due to the hardness, which keeps the ball low. The blade flexes minimally during blocks, only doing so during loops.

Although the sweet spot is large, it can be improved by switching to a carbon blade.

The only drawback to this blade is that the user must have power in their loops due to its hardness.

In my experience, having tried approximately 60 blades, this is the best one I have encountered.

Agreeing with the reviews above, there’s not much more to add. It’s a very good blade with a good feel and awesome control. It has many gears and is usable from beginners to very advanced players. You can’t go wrong with this one.

This is actually my first blade, and I am very pleased with how it plays. I’m just a newbie. It helps in making my strokes consistent when I’m playing with my Mark V. It has a good feel. It has a little vibration, but overall it’s great.

Despite its age, the Donic Persson Powerplay remains a reliable option, providing a pleasant playing experience. It pairs well with rubbers offering excellent control, enhancing their responsiveness and producing a satisfying rhythm.

The blade excels in backhand play, particularly for advanced players proficient in the backhand flick technique. Its exceptional feel and control make it a suitable choice for experienced players seeking precision and stability.

This is a perfect blade for OFF- players because it has good speed and excellent control.

I like this blade. It’s a very good and cheap all-wood offensive blade for beginners to learn how to loop. It’s also a good weapon for experienced players. I bought it after last season and am now fully adjusted to it. Blocking and short pushes are much easier than with my epoxy offensive blade. Topspinning with it took me some time to adjust, but now it’s superb. I still have some difficulties with the flip.

I also have difficulties with the finish of the handle. My hand doesn’t seem to like the rough finish. I’ll probably stick with it for one year and then try out the Power Carbon or Senso V1 version. However, I hope that these other blades don’t have the same problem. I would have appreciated if it was just a bit lighter. (using with Acuda S2 and Coppa X2)

I just bought this blade and am trying to get used to it. I played with the Epox Offensive before this one, and the finish of the handle was way better than this blade. It’s not as comfortable.

I used this blade 10 years ago. I stopped playing 9 years ago. Now that I’m trying to look for my equipment to play again, I think I’ve misplaced my blade. Of all the blades that I have used before, this one fits me the best. I’ve used Clipper Wood, Gergely, Grubba Carbon, Dynapower, and a lot more.

This was my first blade ever, which just shows how old and well established it is. I have been playing for about 15 years now. I used to just push and smash, and it did a great job in helping me develop my game. Whatever your standard, this one will be a winner. Just tune it with relevant rubbers.

Awesome blade, really. Although I’m used to an Off+ blade, this is definitely the better choice for me.

You can use this for everything: fast attacks, spinny attacks, blocking, defense, everything. Did I mention that it has a great feel? I tried several blades, however, this is the one with the most control.
