Legendary table tennis blade. Stiff and hard, but it has very good sensitivity. Suitable for attacking play in the near zone.

Non-standard reduced blade size with a non-classical transition to the handle.

Got one old Gergely Blade in good condition. It has no Butterfly tag on the handle and no serial number. It’s a very small size blade (150x146). It weighs 91g and is thinner than Primorac Carbon. It plays well with soft to medium rubbers and plays nicely on the backhand. It’s easy to spin the ball and hit hard. I put a harder rubber on the forehand, and it was easy to play a short game but more difficult to attack and spin underspin balls. I think it would be better with a softer rubber.

It’s a nice blade, slower than Primorac Carbon but with more control and more catapult effect. It’s very hard to control this blade.

This blade is one of the best blades in the market. It is lightweight and provides excellent control. The blade is also very durable and can withstand heavy use. Overall, this blade is an excellent choice for players of all levels.

One of the best features of this blade is its lightweight construction. This makes it easy to control and maneuver, even for beginners. The blade is also very durable, which means that it can withstand heavy use without breaking.

Another great feature of this blade is its excellent control. This is due to the fact that the blade has a large sweet spot. This makes it easy to hit the ball where you want it to go. The blade also has a good amount of spin, which makes it easy to create a variety of shots.

Overall, this blade is an excellent choice for players of all levels. It is lightweight, durable, and provides excellent control. If you are looking for a new blade, this is a great option.

The grip is comfortable to hold, made of hard wood. The blade’s speed is fast, and the wood surface is smooth.

Setup: Bty Gergely Tamca 5000, DHS Hurricane 3 Neo (forehand), and Donic Bluefire M2 (backhand). I’ve been using this blade for the past 8 years.

Flat hits and counters are a definite plus point with it. Punch block and counter topspins are also great. The looping game is above average. Medium-soft sponge rubbers are preferred for looping.

I’m surprised about this blade’s speed-control ratio. It’s very fast, and the spin is very good, but the control is amazing. It’s one of the best blades I’ve ever had. (Mine is a black tag with no serial number.)

The blade is impressive and lightweight. I utilized Donic Coppa Gold on both the backhand (BH) and forehand (FH) for this blade. However, it requires precise control as the ball tends to fly unpredictably. To improve control, I integrated MKV. While it enhanced control, it remained challenging for me as an intermediate player. I subsequently opted for the Xiom Strato for FH and Rakza7 Soft Max for BH, ensuring greater control even during hard smashes, spins, and topspins.

Without a doubt, one of the best blades I’ve ever used. The combination between its speed and stiffness makes it good for blocking and smashing, an excellent choice for those of you who prefer to create fast-paced plays.

I’ve tried putting various rubbers on it and personally, I didn’t find any problem in spinning either, regardless of the rubber type, very nice in any way you want to use it.

In addition, the blade generates almost no vibration at all when used, creating a comfort and firm grip for the users. To put it simply, it’s a marvelous offensive blade.

Best seller from Butterfly. Hitter’s dream blade.

#12 — June 2015

One of the fastest blades, it has a very direct hard feel, very nice for smashing and blocking.

The short game can be challenging, although still quite good for such a fast blade. Personally, I found it too fast when I reached a certain level.

The grip is very good, and I like it. The wood surface is smooth.

I started using this blade by accident, and it has a peculiar story behind it. After using it for some time, I found that it was quite good. It’s fast, but it’s definitely not suitable for beginners. My mistake was using it while I was still learning. But now, it feels great. It might be harder to generate spin with this blade. For me, it’s a bit too wild, and the control isn’t the best. However, it’s excellent for blockers and players who prefer a fast game. If you prefer more control and find it easier to generate spin, I recommend using rubber with a soft sponge, such as Xiom Vega Europe, Rakza 7 Soft, or Donic Acuda S3. It will help a lot.

Undoubtedly one of the first and fastest blades produced by Butterfly, it comes at a cost. Control is compromised, though it packs a huge speed to compensate for that.

Pair it with Nittaku Fast Arc S1 for my forehand and Yasaka Xtend HS for backhand.

Topspin - effortless with these strokes. Less dwell time but with the fast arc which complimented the speed and stiffness of this blade. The soft top rubber of Fast Arc did some wonders.

Short game - I gave some thought to this area. Hard to control but with some practice, I think it will sink into your system. This blade is definitely for an advanced and aggressive player.

Offensive blade - offensive plus.

Before I tried the blade with T05, but it seems to be wild on the block and push block but perfect with loop strokes. I guess some of the character diminishes as the T05 rubber was more than 9 months old.

Overall, this blade is an asset and mine to keep.

The classic all-time favorite!

Fast yet has good control.

#20 — October 2011

The worst handle I have ever played with. The PC and SC are better blades. I actually feel like the Sardius was an advanced, much improved version of this blade.

#21 — February 2011

This blade is very hard and has almost no flex. Using it with a Roundell Hard Sponge will give you great power, but it is not good for loops unless you use a soft rubber, such as Yasaka X-TEND. Chops and high lobs will also lose control with this blade. However, everything else is great with this blade.

The Alpha Pro blade is a 5-ply all-wood blade designed for all-around play. It has a medium-soft feel with good control and decent speed. The limba outer plies provide a nice balance of power and control, while the inner plies of ayous and kiri give it a good feel and touch. The blade is well-suited for players of all levels, from beginners to advanced players. It is a good choice for players who want a versatile blade that can be used for a variety of styles of play.

The Hurricane Hao blade is a 7-ply all-wood blade designed for offensive play. It has a medium-stiff feel with good power and control. The outer plies of limba and hinoki provide a lot of power and speed, while the inner plies of ayous and kiri give it a good feel and touch. The blade is well-suited for players of all levels, from beginners to advanced players. It is a good choice for players who want a powerful blade that can be used for a variety of styles of play.

The Viscaria blade is a 5-ply all-wood blade designed for offensive play. It has a medium-stiff feel with good power and excellent control. The outer plies of hinoki provide a lot of power and speed, while the inner plies of kiri and ayous give it a good feel and touch. The blade is well-suited for players of all levels, from beginners to advanced players. It is a good choice for players who want a powerful blade that can be used for a variety of styles of play.

I love it. Every time I try a different wood, I need time to adapt, and I lack the crisp feeling of placement I get with the Gergely. With the Gergely, you aim and the ball goes. If I miss, it has nothing to do with the wood or rubbers; it’s because the other player played better.

For me, this blade has fantastic control, great speed, and is great on blocks, topspin, and even defense. No problem; can chop and very easy for counterlooping. Tried several blades - Grubba, Primorac, Timo Boll, Stiga Blades, Dawei Carbon - pfff.

Fast and powerful blade for attackers, but the handle is not comfortable.

#25 — December 2009

At first, it feels heavy, but it becomes lighter later on. It’s very hard and stiff. For those who want more control, softer rubber than Chermet is recommended. It excels in hitting and smashing, although it’s somewhat difficult for loop drives.

#26 — May 2008

The blade is suitable for hitters and blockers, performing exceptionally well when combined with Sriver 2.1. However, it lacks the delicate touch required for certain playing styles.

#27 — May 2008

This is a very fast blade suitable for hardhitters and blockers.

#28 — February 2008

I played Gergely side-by-side with Schlager Carbon for a week and preferred Gergely. It offers a little more feel without being significantly slower. However, I must emphasize my preference for the Gergely-21 due to its exceptional control, lighter weight, and more comfortable handle. It’s important to note that the compact head design may not suit everyone’s preferences.
