Very good blade, fast with good control.

#2 — June 2021

Compared to the Clipper Wood blade, this blade is slightly thicker and stiffer, resulting in better ball control and blocking capabilities, but reduced spin.

Its outer limba layer may be slightly harder than the Clipper Wood’s, yet softer than the Clipper CR’s. This blade is suitable for players who prefer blocking or looping close to the table and can sacrifice some spin for enhanced control.

I purchased this for my son, pairing the forehand with the inverted Nittaku G1 rubber and the backhand with the Moristo SP rubber.

If you require a blade that can accommodate an inverted forehand and a short pimple or medium pimple backhand, your search ends here. This blade meets those requirements. The forehand spin is of exceptional quality, while the backhand punch/flat hit boasts formidable speed and precision.

In my quest for the ideal combination to match the aforementioned forehand and backhand rubbers, I have experimented with numerous configurations. Among them, this stands out as the most effective.

After testing the rubber combinations mentioned above on blades such as the Stiga Nostalgic Legend 7 Ply, Stiga Carbon Dynasty, Ariex Evo Grampus, Donic True Carbon, Darker Sakura Alba, and Stiga Nostalgic Offensive 5 Ply, this combination emerged as the superior choice.

When playing near the table, the blade excels in generating powerful shots with ample spin. Given its capabilities, the price is remarkably affordable, and the quality is commendable.

I play penholder RPB short pips and had a 20-year hiatus from table tennis. I purchased this blade on sale ($25) and found it to be an excellent 7-ply blade. It paired perfectly with the Stiga Clippa and a soft rubber on the backhand (Xiom Vega Pro). The blade is ideal for close-to-the-table play, but I had to switch it out because the combination (Clippa, 7-ply blade, Xiom Vega) was too heavy and caused hand fatigue. This blade would likely be perfect for someone who plays shakehand style. I attempted to repurchase it later, but it is no longer available in penholder style.

This blade provides many possibilities for an aggressive power playstyle. The power of this blade feels like a carbon blade. When you hold this blade in your hand, you will feel that you have a very good and affordable blade. It can be compared to many expensive blades. However, its unique feel will remain in your mind. Every touch with this blade will go to the target. You must have this blade if you have not yet found a good balancing blade. This blade will unlock the champion in you.

This is a well-manufactured 7-ply blade (limba, ayous, ayous, ayous, ayous, ayous, limba) by Xiom. It’s in the same category as the Avalox P700 or Stiga Clipper.

Fast but good control. Although it’s a 7-ply blade, it doesn’t feel stiff. It’s excellent for playing close to the table or mid-distance.

Like all the above-mentioned blades, it’s also often used to play short pips.

This is a perfect 7-ply blade. It’s not quite hard, so it offers great control. The stiffness gives stable blocks and devastating flat hits. It’s not really suitable for classic topspins but more for a power topspin game.

Skilled players can find it perfect with hard and medium-hard rubbers.

It is a very interesting blade. I miss greater sense control (may be due to poorly used rubbers), but the blade is fast and has a good feel in hand. It has a heavier feel, but it is easy to block and serve with. It also generates good spin.

Theoretically, a stiff blade provides better control than a flexible blade. A medium hardness blade gives a longer dwell time for ball feeling than a hard blade. Both of these characteristics are true for Extreme S. It has sufficient dwell time and very good control for ball placement. Additionally, it is an OFF+ blade, providing easy blocking for those who prefer this style.

Currently, I’m comparing this blade with my other blades, including Yinhe Qiu Yike Rosewood, Y-13, and W-6. I will update my review if I discover anything new.

Timo Boll Spirit ALC blade provides a comparable feel, but with slightly more vibration and a marginally longer dwell time. Crafted from all wood, this blade offers exceptional speed. Its impressive control allows for effortless manipulation of the ball, making it a formidable weapon in the hands of skilled players.

I recently converted over from ALL+ blades, so my first day playing with the Extreme S was awkward and disastrous. I kept overhitting the table when I did my normal strokes. I had to either shorten my strokes to get the ball on the table or just rely on a blocking game, which it did very well.

I also have on it a TSP Curl P1R OX that is notorious for being hard to control. One would expect hard to control LP paired with an OFF+ blade equals disaster but surprisingly what results from the two is a really straight and deep shot that arcs back onto the table at the last second. Chopping with the Extreme S is surprisingly very effective and it was the only shot I could rely on on the first day of trying it out.

After a few days, the Extreme S settled down some and I was able to get my loops on the table deep and low. I pair the blade with a Xiom Omega IV Euro, which is an OFF rubber but still considered by some a slower rubber compared to Tenergy.

The power is evident, as every one of my opponents so far have hurt their thumbs from getting hit by the ball coming from my paddle. They’ve all let out a very audible “OW!”, which you can take as testimony to how fast this blade is.

Very high-quality blade. I’m using it with Xiom Vega Europe Max on both sides, and it’s been playing well so far. The short game is good, and close-to-mid table looping is good. I’m changing my forehand rubber to T25, but I wanted feedback on how well the rubber will work on this blade.

#15 — September 2013

It’s excellent for mid and far distance, but it also has good control close to the table. Smashes are deadly and topspin is very good. Overall, it’s a great blade.

#16 — September 2012

Excellent blade for playing close to the table. Everything requires less effort and is under great control, while there is plenty of power that can be used whenever the player needs it.

I tried it with almost all types of rubber except Anti and must say I am quite happy with how it pairs with them. However, note that it’s an offensive+ blade, so long pips were used for blocking and hitting, since the blade is too fast for chopping). Generally, this blade is more suitable for “fast attack” style than for topspin game because of its great hitting abilities. However, success can also be achieved by a combination of both styles as this blade suits these types of players perfectly.
