Blade: 86 Grams - Two Winged attacker/counter blocker

Forehand rubber: TG Skyline 3 40 deg (2.2mm one layer of booster) Backhand rubber: Rasanter 50 2.0mm

Review:

Exceptional blade with an excellent feel and sublime vibrations. The entire blade serves as the sweet spot, providing exceptional control and stability.

Offensively, this blade excels in spin and power. It effectively counters opponents’ spin and drives the ball with precision. Looping is a particular strength, with the ability to generate devastating loops with ease.

Defensively, it offers exceptional blocking capabilities, effectively deflecting opponents’ attacks. It’s also adept at short games, enabling quick and precise shots.

Lobbing and retrieving are effortless with this blade, allowing for effective control of the table.

Despite its impressive performance, it’s important to note that this blade is somewhat fragile. Proper care and maintenance are essential to ensure its longevity.

Overall, this blade is an exceptional choice for players seeking control, spin, and power. It’s a formidable tool that can dominate opponents on the table.

A very consistent blade. It’s fast on the power strokes, yet controllable in short games. It plays well with Chinese rubbers like Friendship Battle 2 Provincial (Blue Sponge), which I use on both sides. It also plays well with Dignics 09c on FH.

With these rubbers and handle tape, it weighs around 198g. The blade itself weighs 89g. I have tried many other blades but always come back to Long 3. I recommend it.

The Hurricane Long 3 (HL3) outperforms its counterpart, the DHS PG7, in terms of size, quality, and price. It features a seven-ply wood construction that combines qualities of both five-ply and seven-ply blades.

The HL3’s core is thicker than that of a typical seven-ply blade, with thinner supporting plys. This unique construction makes it more flexible than seven-ply blades like the Stiga Clipper, yet stiffer than five-ply blades like the Butterfly Peter Korbel. Essentially, the HL3 mimics the construction of outer carbon blades, but with a layer of wood in place of synthetic fibers.

This construction yields a clear wood feedback, providing both good dwell and control. However, when power is applied, the HL3 transfers significant force and velocity to the ball. The softer limba outer plys enhance the blade’s performance in the short game and looping, but they tend to splinter around the edges.

The HL3’s handle is slightly longer and has a conical shape, shifting the center of mass just above the handle. This design creates a balanced blade that provides excellent power and is comfortable to hold. When the thumb is raised for backhand shots, it rests at or near the center of mass, depending on thumb length, providing stability to backhand shots.

This blade’s exceptional balance is particularly advantageous when using heavier rubbers. Although the wings are somewhat sharp, this minor issue can be easily resolved with fine-grit sandpaper. For loopers who prefer the feel and stability of wood blades with ample power, the Hurricane Long 3 is highly recommended.

This very powerful 7-ply all-wood blade features a flared handle that fits nicely in hand. When paired with Tenergy 05-FX on both sides, it delivers unbelievable power with control, provided proper technique is used. The total weight of the blade and rubber is 183 grams, offering a nice balance.

This gorgeous blade stands out with its unique design. It offers tremendous speed when required, showcasing its versatility. Surprisingly, despite its speed, it remains controllable. It is arguably the best-looking blade on the market, boasting exceptional craftsmanship. Highly recommended for those seeking a combination of power, control, and aesthetics.

Very good blade, it opened up my game and I’m very satisfied with it. It also has tremendous speed and control. If money is not an issue, I highly recommend this blade.

Good control, strong looping game. Nice FL handle.

This is an exceptional 7-ply wood blade and one of the most reputable and well-performing offensive blades available on the market. It offers an outstanding combination of speed, control, and tactile feedback. I would rate its speed in the range of Off-/Off, which is ample for most players. My blade is 6.4mm thick, an ideal thickness that facilitates both effective blocking and potent hits, while retaining sufficient flexibility for optimal looping shots. In comparison, some 7-ply wood blades in the 6.7-7.0mm range, while excelling at blocking and hitting, can be overly rigid for a more looping-centric style of play. Conversely, thinner wood blades between 5.8-6.0mm might excel at looping but may compromise blocking and hitting performance. This blade strikes a perfect balance, offering the best of both worlds. If you favor the feel and experience of a wood blade over a composite blade, yet seek a blade that can match the capabilities of high-quality ALC blades, this is a highly recommended option.

One of the fastest all-wood blades I’ve played with, the HL3 offers excellent control comparable to current blades. However, it also generates immense spin, keeping the ball on the table instead of overshooting like other off+ blades I’ve tried.

The HL3 is versatile, compatible with both Chinese and European rubbers. Super-fast rubbers are not recommended unless you want to launch a rocket. Despite its speed, the short game is not affected at all. This blade has definite gears.

It excels in topspin play due to its high throw and flex. The sweet spot is incredibly large, comparable to composite blades. My 92g blade boasts exceptional build quality, with a slightly better handle on the flared version compared to similar PG7 blades.

The Hurricane Long 3 is a well-balanced 7-ply blade. It is fast, but not too hard or too soft. It has excellent feedback upon ball impact and high levels of control, which inspires the belief that every shot is possible.

Players who base their games on consistent loops will prefer the Hurricane Long 3, while hitters and blockers will gravitate towards Tibhar Samsonov Force Pro Black Edition.

Players looking for blades that are faster than classic 5-ply limba/ayous all-wood blades or provide more feeling than modern composite blades while maintaining high-speed levels will feel right at home with the Hurricane Long 3.

I play this blade and must say that it is a great blade. It is good for fast rubber and has the right combination to put on. I still practice at the club and love it so far.

Table Tennis Blade Review

This is a perfect blade for those who are looking for a balance of power and control. The blade is made of high-quality materials and has a great feel in the hand. It is well-suited for both offensive and defensive play.

The blade is slightly heavier than average, which gives it more power. However, it is still light enough to be maneuverable. The blade has a large sweet spot, which makes it easy to hit the ball cleanly.

Overall, this is a great blade for players of all levels. It is well-made, durable, and provides a great balance of power and control.

The Hurricane Long is an exceptional blade. I’ve been using it paired with a set of Donic Bluefire M1 Turbo rubbers and it’s incredibly fast. It boasts a remarkably large sweet spot, providing ample control without compromising speed. Despite its immense speed, it maintains excellent control, so you won’t have to worry about sacrificing accuracy during short plays. As an offensive player, you’ll appreciate how the blade’s exceptional speed and control combination effortlessly facilitates powerful flips, loops, and counter loops.

For the last 4 years, I played with the Butterfly Innerforce ZLC blade, using BF Tenergy 05 on forehand and BF Tenergy 05fx on backhand. A few months ago, I purchased Long 3 and used it with the same rubbers. It was too bouncy in the beginning and more powerful than ZLC. I lacked control in close games and left it in the bag, occasionally using it at practice sessions as a spare bat.

However, with the recent switch to plastic balls, I found ZLC to lack power. I tried Long 3 again and never looked back. For some reason, Long 3 suits the game with plastic balls much better. In our club, we use HSF seamless balls, which are excellent.

Long 3 is a great blade when you master it. I’ve been playing with it for the last 2 months. Control is very good due to the limba outer layer. Its composition is similar to Innerforce ZLC. Both blades are 7-ply blades made of limba and ayous wood. The main difference is the zylon carbon layers in ZLC and Long 3 being an all-wood blade.

It is great for hitting and playing away from the table. The touch game needs practice, but once mastered, it is very good too. There is no vibration, blocking is easy, and loops are as good as your technique allows.

So, if you’re looking for a more powerful but still controllable blade and you’re coming from limba/ayoys blades (like Innerforce ZLC, Petr Korbel, Primorac, and even Mizutani Jun or Maze), it will be an easy upgrade for you. Enjoy it.

Awesome combination of speed and control, medium stiffness and soft touch still has big sweet spot to support blocks and smashes. Weight 90 gms approx and is head heavy, you might want to try grip to evenly distribute that weight on your palm. Controllable from any distance from the table, near to far away from the table.

The blade is soft and can absorb moisture so try lacquering; insane catapult effect putting huge amount of spin when needed. Worth the money you spend, won’t disappoint in any aspect of the game from short push, touch to counter looping, smashing or blocking.

Use slightly slow and soft rubbers to get the max potential of this blade. It can be a deadly weapon for attackers once mastered.

On the blade, I’m using Double Happiness Hurricane 3 Neo on my forehand and Yasaka Mark V on my backhand. When I was first hitting with the blade, I noticed the ball bounced off my racket quite easily, and the blade had a very large sweet spot. The blade retails for around 200 USD.

Now, is it worth it? Let’s find out.

Spin - Serves, pushes, loops, counterloops, topspin drives, counter drives, smashes, blocks: Every aspect of what you want to do to the ball will develop a tremendous amount of spin.

Looping - Wonderful! Absolutely wonderful! Looping with this blade is effortless; I can loop under spin with no problems at all on both the backhand and forehand side. Looping is awesome with this racket.

Drives - Again, amazing! Giving your opponent drives with this blade is like performing the power of Ma Long. Absolutely perfect.

Touch shots - Even though this blade is marketed for an off++ blade, its touch shots are still great; pushes give lots of spin, and blocks are effective as well.

Control - Perfect! Whatever you want to do with the blade, it will do it. You want to push, it’ll do it. You want to loop, it’ll do it. You want to topspin drive, it’ll do it. Whatever you want to do, it’ll let you do it.

Speed - This is where the blade shines! Basically, in a nutshell; you’re able to give the power of Ma Long to your opponent. The blade is pretty damn fast.

Conclusion So, is this blade worth the price? Certainly, most definitely! Touch shots are great, speed is amazing, control is great, and spin is awesome. I definitely recommend this blade; it’s absolute fire.

This blade offers a slower but more controlled experience compared to my previous DHS Hurricane Long I with DHS Neohurricane III rubbers. The weight is similar, and the handle is exceptionally comfortable. I have not noticed any significant difference in speed or spin when hitting the ball off-center, which is indicative of good control.

However, to match the speed of my previous setup, I recommend switching to European rubbers that prioritize speed and spin, such as Cornilleau Target Force or Cornilleau Taget Sound. Alternatively, if Chinese rubbers are preferred, the DHS Hurricane Long I is a faster and stiffer blade that can compensate for the tackiness and slowness of such rubbers.

In terms of balance, the Hurricane Long III excels, especially during repetitive backhand loops. It effectively reduces wrist pressure and enhances precision.

In summary, this blade boasts good speed, excellent control, outstanding balance, a comfortable feel, and an aesthetically pleasing handle.

Moving from Mazunov was very hard at first, but after a week, I can’t go back. This blade has very good speed, amazing control, and tons of spin. It has no vibrations, the handle is very comfortable, and the box you get with it is very cool. It’s a little pricey, but it’s well worth it. I got mine at 88 grams.

#19 — November 2013

First impressions: stiffer than previous blades (Butterfly Innerforce ALC and Xiom Hayabusa ZX). Despite its stiffness, it offers excellent control. Initially, I experienced increased power due to its heavier weight (90g).

Blocking: Effective due to the stiffer blade.

Looping: Exceptional performance, likely its specialty.

Sweet spot: Large, providing ample forgiveness.

Equipment used: FH Tenergy 05 and BH Tenergy 80. While it reduced feeling slightly, this is likely attributed to its stiffer nature.

Overall: A high-quality blade that warrants consideration. It may require slight adjustments to playing style due to its unique characteristics.

This blade offers excellent control and effective blocking capabilities. However, when paired with a blue sponge Neo Hurricane on the forehand, its speed is slightly hindered, though it maintains good control and versatility.

On the backhand, the Xiom Omega-4 Elite provides a great balance of speed, spin, and control. When used with the Xiom Sigma blade, the combination is exceptional.

Previously, I used the Xiom Sigma in the Malong-1 ply, which has an ALC composite construction and delivers good speed and control. While this ply is also fast, it’s not as fast as the Malong-1, but it offers excellent control and a large sweet spot with a decent dwell time.

Overall, I rate this blade 9.7/10, making it the best in the Ma Long series.
